Update #6: Storybook Circus!​

May 12th, 2012​

After breakfast, we walked through the Castle and into a basically empty Fantasyland!

We waited less than ten minutes for Peter Pan's Flight! It was Katie's first ride!

I love that ride so much. No matter how short and cheesy it seems, I absolutely love it.

That ride is so special to me, too. I don't know what it is about Peter Pan, but the whole "never grow up" theme just makes me really happy. This will always be one of my favorite rides! (especially if I don't have to wait for very long to go on it!)​

After that, we decided to check out Storybook Circus!!

Don't you just love the trash cans? They're so cute!

The walkway was double-walled on both sides, but there were cute little posters along the way!

Just think about how different this is all going to look as the Fantasyland Expansion construction progresses! SO EXCITING!​

Welcome to Storybook Circus!

We went straight to the new Dumbo!

Dumbo is double-Dumbo now, but at the time it was just the one!

To add to the theming, Disney even put peanuts in the pavement! So cute!

Storybook Circus was basically empty!

We all LOVED the new Dumbo! It was so much more colorful and the fountains were sparkling and beautiful! The theming of Storybook Circus is fantastic, and the whole area around Dumbo really feels like a big-top circus! Props to Disney!

I really love what they did with the place. It really draws so much more attention to Dumbo rather than just plopping it in the middle of Fantasyland. It is one of the most popular rides in Disney, so it definitely deserved all of this!​

We said goodbye to Dumbo and Timothy and headed into the Land of Tomorrow!

I agree with you on the new Dumbo! I checked it out earlier this month, and in addition the beautiful water features, the new queue is really cool. Instead of waiting in a hot, boring switchback queue (like the old Dumbo), you spend most of the time waiting in the indoor circus area, where you can sit down, relax, and enjoy some air conditioning! I don't know if this part of the queue was open when you went (since I think it may have opened with the second Dumbo spinner), but if not, it gives you something to check out next time.

I'm also very excited about the Fantasyland expansion. I've always thought that "The Little Mermaid" deserved a ride, and the new Be Our Guest restaurant sounds like it's going to be gorgeous. Every time the Disney Parks Blog does an update showing previews of Prince Eric's or the Beast's castle, I can't wait to see the finished product.

Definitely! The A/C queue actually wasn't open, but I love that they did that! That's awesome! I can't wait to check that out in August!​

I am too! I am a HUGE Little Mermaid fan so I can respect that! I've always thought that as well. I can't believe how spectacular the decor at BoG is! I can't wait to check that our in December!​

I LOVE the park map bow! That's the first thing I saw that made me recognize Kristen when I chased her down in MK!

Those are great early morning MK pictures! It's so nice getting in there before the crowds!

Storybook circus is adorable I can't wait to see it in person in September, and I can't wait to see it after the new Fantasyland is completed.

Oh wow, I think that might be the most empty I've seen Fantasyland ever. You guys definitely had a good plan going here so far. to Peter Pan's Flight! Reading all these TRs about how much people LOVE this ride, I feel I should give it a second chance because the first time I went on it, I was stuck in a LONG, tiring wait and the ride was so quick. I love Peter Pan and the theme of his journeys like Jess said, but... his ride needs to stop being so POPULAR! How did Katie like it by the way?

Loving your pictures of the Storybook Circus! It's a shame there really are SO many walls up around that part of Fantasyland. But based on that, I can't help but think how truly amazing the FLE will be when it's all done! The peanuts in the ground are awesome (Disney thinks of everything don't they?) and the posters really add a nice touch, here and there.

The new Dumbo looks gorgeous! I knew there was definitely something different about the paint job and design, very vibrant. At first, I thought I wouldn't like the new Dumbo, but like you said it DOES fit better with the overall theme and isn't just some ride plopped into the middle of nowhere. Oh and I love those new fountains too! Could you still see the Castle from Dumbo?

Oooo... Tomorrowland, can't wait to hear about your adventures there! (see what I did there?)

Right though? You have to go on when it's like 15 mins. or less. Otherwise, it's not worth it. It definitely does though! Katie loved it! She thought it was super cute.​

It IS! It's all so colorful and pretty! The theming is so much better! The fountains are sooo gorgeous. No, I don't think you really can actually. If so then it's a pretty obstructed view. The one downside.

The new Dumbo looks really good!
I love the peanuts on the ground... the theming looks awesome, I'm sooo excited for the new FantasyLand!!!
I also love the fountains in the ride... just like Disneyland
