The Frumps Have Hit the Wall... And No One's Mad. "FART SHOES." UPDATE 1/20

Ugh, WPE!! DELICIOUS!!! I love the pesto pizza! So goooood!!! Can't wait to eat there in Sept!!

Hey Jess and Kristen. I've been stalking your all of your TRs for awhile....hope you don't mind ;) Not only are your Disney adventures fun to read about, but it is awesome that you are such good friends! Why wasn't there anyone like that when I was in high school and college? Just thought I'd say "Hi"!

Wow, WPE express looks amazing! We finally got to Earl of Sandwich on my last trip, I think WPE is going on the to-do list for the next one. Those T-shirts look like they're gonna be so much fun, can't wait to see the finished product.

I just realized I never subscribed to this even though I commented right after you started it!! But i'm all caught up now! I can't wait to hear about the rest of this trip..I follow both of you on twitter and instagram (creepy, I know!) I loved getting the little updates on there!
I cannot wait to go to WPE in September...we are going there our first night...that mac and cheese looks awesome!! There's so many choices on the menu that sound so good..it's going to take me forever to decide!
September will be our first time using the Magical Express! I can't wait! But i'm so afraid I'll get lost in the airport.
Those design a tee's are really neat..I will definitely have to check it out.
Saratoga Springs Resort looks so nice..I can't wait to see more of it. I actually live about 15 minutes away from the real Saratoga Springs, NY..its so funny to see and hear about the resort when I've grown up in the real one..Congress Park(the real one) is really pretty!

I'm all caught up. I'm glad I decided to finish catching up today. I have been hemming and hawing all day over what requests to put on my online check in for SSR for this weekend. It's my first time there too and I was torn on whether to request an area or not. Looks like Congress Park is a good choice so now I'm leaing toward that.

all caught up!
fantastic updates!! xo

YAY! Thanks! :)

OMG WPE looks SO good! I never go there, I always pick Earl of Sandwich, but I have to try it on my next trip! Everything you guys got looked SO yummy, especially that mac and cheese! And they have creme brulee? :woohoo: Even more of a reason to go now, I'm obsessed with Disney creme brulee! :cool1:

Your T-shirts are so cute! I saw Joni's T that she made on her trip, and now yours and now I want one! So adorable!

It IS so good! You definitely should try it out! The creme brulee there is AMAZING!

Thanks! I love mine!

Wow, how did I not know about Design-a-Tee? I will have to go there!

You definitely should! It's so fun and pretty reasonable!

Yay! I'm so glad. That's not creepy at all! We're so glad that you do!! You'll be getting loads more from us too, because we have three trips planned just this summer between the two of us!

YAY for going to WPE! You might just have to get one of everything...

Just ask the employees! They're usually friendly and helpful. I love Magical Express though! Definitely worth getting lost in the airport.

Design-A-Tee is so much fun! It's definitely a great place for souvenirs!

Did you really? That's awesome! I love the resort version haha. Congress Park is my favorite! I'm in LOVE with that section!

YAY! Ahh that's so exciting! I LOVE SSR! I definitely recommend Congress Park. It has its own quiet pool, bus stop, and the walkway to DTD is a great feature. Hope you have a magical time!

Since I am already so far behind on all of my other TRs, what's one more? I am excited to read yet another joint TR trip from you ladies.

Gosh, May seems so long ago, I forgot you guys went. Excited to read along once I get all caught up! At least I got a sneak peek with Jess' instagram pics. Love them by the way. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Can't wait to read about more Disney goodies that I will need to add to my "must try" list.

Hey there! :welcome: So glad you're here!!

It does seem long ago! I know, I didn't Instagram as much as she did, but I'm @disney_frump on there and on Twitter as well. Thanks!

There will be plenty, I assure you! :thumbsup2

Love love love this joint TR! I have read both of your trip reports and you are both hysterical and have a great way with words!

I'm joining in from your other reports...I got really excited when I saw that y'all were at Saratoga Springs! My husband and I are running the Disney World 1/2 in January and I decided to rent DVC points for this trip to try it out. (My mother-in-law has a timeshare with Marriott so I'm curious to compare the two.) Anyways, the resort that we ended up at is Saratoga. So, feel free to pass along any tips/advice. I've read that some people aren't a fan of this resort because it is really spread out aka you have to walk. Walking doesn't bother us and part of me wants to say when I read reviews like that is..."then why are you at Disney World where walking is a requirement." ;) Ha. From the photos I've seen Saratoga looks beautiful and very relaxing. Looking forward to reading more. We missed y'all on this trip by three days!

:welcome: I loved Saratoga! :cloud9: I hope you enjoy it as much as we did! Walking doesn't bother us either, which is why Congress Park was a perfect choice for us! It sounds like you would love it too! You have the walkway to Downtown Disney right there and the scenery is beautiful! It's definitely a very peaceful resort! I hope you have a magical trip! :wizard:

Ahh did we really? That's so funny! What a great time of year to be there, right? I LOVED the weather in May! Not too hot but hot enough so you felt like it was definitely Disney! :thumbsup2

Hi Frumps!
I'm loving the TR! You girls remind me of my niece, she a dance major hoping to do the DCP some time in the near future.

Jess, I'm also enjoying your Christmas TR! I hope I get to have a relationship with my DD like the one you have with your mom. It's really precious!

Kristen, one request, if you don't mind... for the sake of your "older" readers (ok, so I'm not that old... I'm "only" 40 :cool2: ). Could you use a bigger font?

Thanks for a fun TR girls!

Isn't her TR great!?

Sure!

Update #4: "EXCUSE ME! CAN I TRADE WITH YOU!?"

May 11th, 2012

After we left Design-A-Tee, we headed over to the Downtown Disney Pin Trading Store!

YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH I LOVE PIN PUNS!
dsc0209ot.jpg

dsc0210z.jpg

We walked around and were trading with various cast members when we came across what was basically an entire WALL of pins.

I'm pretty sure my heart stopped because I was SO excited to see that many pins in one place!! It's not open all the time... so I'm REALLY glad we hit it when it was! Ahhh it was so awesome.

While we were in line, however, I spotted it. The pin I had been searching high and low for since August. The pin that a cast member at the Coronado Springs bus stop had had that I wanted SO BADLY, but because it was his own personal pin, he wouldn't trade it with me. ):

But no matter. It was here, now, that I found this pin. And I would have it, once and for all.

What pin is it, you might ask??

imagehdr.jpg

IT'S THE DANCING PEOPLE PIN!!!

For those of you who aren't familiar with this pin, it represents the signs on all of the attractions that say no standing, but the stick people really look like they're dancing. Jess and I have become obsessed with finding it, and I finally spotted it!!!

I RAN over to the cast member, who was walking away, and I basically yelled "EXCUSE ME, CAN I TRADE WITH YOU!??!!?" She was definitely taken aback and probably frightened. Nevertheless, she traded with me and I got my pin!!

I swear, Downtown Disney is the place to find that pin if you're ever looking for it! I have NEVER seen any CM in any of the parks wear it before!

Then Jess and I traded at the wall and looked around a little more before heading out.

I got a DDP Pin and an Expedition Everest fastpass pin!

We went over to Tren-D, a.k.a. THE MOST DANGEROUS STORE IN DISNEY WORLD. Seriously, I want to buy everything.

And guess what everyone!?!?! THE DRESSES WERE BACK! Remember from my previous trip reports when you loved all of my hidden mickey sundresses? Well, they brought a few of last year's styles back as well as adding a few new ones! WOOHOO!

Jess found this dress, which Katie and I also bought for ourselves later in the trip:
dsc0233lf.jpg

I also bought this dress for myself, which I wore for Jess' 3rd of July party!
imagenxxc.jpg

After we scoured that store and drooled over all of the things we wanted, we stopped by Guest Relations to get my Annual Pass!!

Because Dave is a Florida resident, I get an awesome discount on my AP! We decided to just get it that night, and while we were there we got celebration buttons for everyone! Jess and I got birthday buttons, Katie got a First Visit button, and Mike and Dave got I'm Celebrating Buttons! They were all so cute!
dsc0212ue.jpg

Jess and I also traded in the awesome pin book at Guest Relations!

Pin trading is WAY too much fun! I love it!

After that, we headed over to none other than the World of Disney! It was crazy, as usual, but we saw some fun sights and found some great merchandise!

Mike and Katie found Woody and Jessie hats!
dsc0213gu.jpg

Isn't that the cutest thing you've ever seen?

Yeah, I thought so.

We also found some AWESOME pillow pets! I want the Tigger one SO BAD!
dsc0214s.jpg

They really have added SO many different types of pillow pets even since I was last in Disney! I was so impressed!

dsc0215f.jpg

We saw Slinky Dog...
dsc0216h.jpg

My little sister collects the Toy Story toys, and she's got her eye on ol' Slink for her collection!

I had to take that picture for Preston because Slink is one of his favorites! As you may remember he has a slinky dog pin! Which reminds me... I need to buy one of those.

I tried to convince Mike to get this shirt...but to no avail. It's still REALLY funny though!
dsc0218tu.jpg

HAHAHA ISN'T THAT SHIRT HILARIOUS!?! Gahh I love cheesy puns.

Then Jess and I came across what might be the most brilliant assortment of Disney merchandise EVER to exist.

DISNEY QUOTE PILLOWS!!!

They. Are. Awesome.

Yeah and addicting. I wanted them ALL! Thankfully they were $20 each so they weren't quite as bad as I expected!

They have ones with little sayings like "Never Grow Up" and "Be Our Guest," but then they have this...

dsc0219k.jpg

dsc0220cx.jpg

A FASTPASS PILLOW. Tell me you're not drooling. I dare you. They also have one that says "Please Pardon our Pixie Dust, we are refurbishing this area for your future enjoyment."

YEAH.

I bought them both. Don't judge me. THEY ARE NECESSARY FOR MY SURVIVAL! I am such a sucker for park merchandise. Disney just knows how important it is to me. It's like they know my inside jokes of life.

I have got my eye on them for my next trip! They're just too perfect!

dsc0222upg.jpg

We realized that we still had a few minutes before it was time to pick up our shirts, so we stopped in the Days of Christmas store, where the Toy Story love was dominating!
dsc0224ez.jpg

dsc0225p.jpg

dsc0226zl.jpg

dsc0227vi.jpg

Aren't they so cute!? I really want the Rex one! He's my favorite Toy Story character. Probably because he's a HUGE frump.

I felt the need to take pictures of EACH AND EVERY Toy Story ornament. But no one's mad.

After we scoured the store, we headed over to pick up our shirts, which were delivered to us pretty promptly in a bag that was the color of our choice.

dsc0234cd.jpg

This is Jess'; mine is gray.

And because I know you're all wondering, here is the finished product!
dsc0235ai.jpg

Our shirts were identical, with Ariel decking out the front!

We loved them! They were so cute and it was really fun to match. It definitely added to the frumpiness!

Aren't they perfect!? Ahh I love that shirt!

Afterward, we walked back over to SSR (oh how I love saying that I could do that...it was wonderful) and got some ice to fill up our mugs with ice water for the night.

dsc0236t.jpg

We also took pictures of our pin finds of the day. Here are Jess' pins:

dsc0231ma.jpg

And mine are on my lanyard and include my trading pins.

dsc0232xq.jpg

See the Dancing People pin. AHHH love! <3

I took a shower, we set Stacey to a timer so we could fall asleep to her serene and soothing (but not actually not really) voice, and pretty soon we were OUT.

GOOD NIGHT, PEOPLE!

Wrap up of Day 1:

The Mac and Cheese!

Continued in Next Post

*Sigh* I love that this post is all about pins. THANK YOU. I am so ready to trade at DTD...TOMORROW NIGHT! :hyper:

Yay! I love it when I find a "holy grail" pin that I've been searching for! The dancing people pin is great! :thumbsup2

No judgement on the pillows, Jess. I saw the Never Grow Up one in December and didn't get it, so I'm going to make up for that by getting several on this trip! :rotfl:

I can't wait to try that four cheese pizza tomorrow! I'm going to try to convince John to get the mac and cheese so I can have both! :goodvibes
