The Frickles Family Vacation: Every Mile a Memory; THE LAST MILE! CH 12 pg 20 6/20!

Does it still count today?

Hope you had a great one, my girl.

We entered the park and headed for the stroller rental area. Don’t hate on me, but a sweet family offered to give us their stroller because they were leaving….and we took it. Thank you sweet family! As we were waiting on the kids to load up, we were approached by another truly kind family. The daddy came over and asked us if we would be interested in taking their Fantasmic dinner package tickets. Their daughter was getting sicker by the minute with a horrible sore throat and they needed to get her back to the hotel. Wow. I felt horrible for them but I felt pretty darn skippy about those ’fastpasses’ to Fantasmic. We graciously accepted them and wished the little girl well. The daddy said he would much rather have another family enjoy those passes than letting them go to waste. As we walked away, we marveled over their kindness and we knew we had picked the right destination for the evening. Thank you kind daddy!

Now THIS put a smile on my face. How awesome is it to see people spread the love around at Disney? Sounds like the night was off to a pretty good start.

I took one for the team.

DED. But I agree with Ash. I'm sure you looked gorgeous regardless. Wet hair, no makeup, wrinkled clothes and all.

It was ’I wish the stinky people in front of me would stop blowing around their funky smell with their little fans’ hot.

You never told us you ran into ZZUB! So is he as short as I think he is?

Nighttime swims are way fun.

You know it.

We were the Griswold’s. Mr. Frick and I were Clark and Rusty.

Clark and Rusty?! If you're gonna do the Griswolds, you gotta do it up right. It's Clark and Cousin Eddie all the way, baby. Or at least Clark and Uncle Louis. Possibly Aunt Bethany. But only if there's a cat and a jello mold close by.

Frick, it sounds like yall had an AWESOME last night in the World. When I finished reading it, I had a huge smile on my face for yall. I love that you chose to relax and enjoy your night by the pool instead of rushing up to the room to pack. And sometimes I think, for all of our planning, the flying by the seat of your pants approach seems to bring us some of the best times of the entire trip. Wonder why that is.

I can't believe it's nearly over. I'll be saddest ever when you're done.

Loved it, Frick my girl.

Guess that means you're on Ignore.

I love that picture too. Yall look like you're having a blast and you're all SO beautiful!

:moped:

Loved this chapter and the way you so lovingly describe your family.

How awesome that you received pixie dust twice in the same day.

We have never seen Fantasmic so it is on our must do for the next trip. Actually, a pool day followed by a night at the studios might have to be on the plan for our family - sounds perfect.

Isn't it nice to just sit back and watch your children play. I got the opportunity last week to watch my oldest loving to play soccer with his friends and listen/watch to the baby sleeping on our blanket on a beautiful spring day in a park with big trees... it was one of the best hours this whole month.

Happy Birthday.:flower3:

KIMBA!!! That was the same exact night we were there. WHERE IS MY FREE ADMISSION TO THE MK?!?!?!
Seriously, how did you get one and I didn't? Did you have to ask.

I feel sick.

Hi Frickles! Looks like we were at the same halloween party as you last year! It was miserable wasn't it? I swear the rain water was up to my ankles at one point!

Anyways, you don't need any special certificate (it was just a postcard with the details on it). You can use your halloween party tickets at the gate to MK for admission any day OR you can have them exchanged for party tickets for this year..which I'm assuming is NOT an option for you!

Anyhow, great trip report. It sounds like you and your family had a great time!

That sounds like an absolutely PERFECT DAY! It's funny because you spend months and months planning, but it is days like this when you just decide as you go that you have the most memorable and enjoyable times!

LOVE IT!

So true girl.... the Beach Club definitely put a kink in my park & dining plans!!!!! But it was all good! ;)

Frick! I love this trip report, because it's reminding me to relax and enjoy the kids enjoying Disney. I tend to get a little commandoish while we're there, because I want them to have a great time and see it all, dang it! But thanks to you I will remember to stop and enjoy my very own three little "gifts from God!"

We are BORG. If you only knew how 'commandoish' (NOPeoplewhodon'twearunderwear) I was on our first two trips with children it would astound you. My sweet Mr. Frick is proud of me for changing and I think he needs to keep on taking us every year so that I don't slip back into the "we haven't been in two years and we need to squeeze in 47sq. miles of fun in five days" mode!

(Hope you remembered to throw out your gum and fasten your seat belt!)

Fortunately, I remembered BOTH my friend. Just a little FYI for you Tower of Terror fans, as we learned from our good friend whose name I will not mention.....if you get real giddy about riding and you've had a couple of Lemon Drops beforehand and you forget to put on your seatbelt, it WILL NOT unlock for you to put it on after the ride starts! :scared1:

We need a clapping smiley! Nice job Fricky. I would've been itchin' to get that packing done. GOOD FOR YOU for getting every last minute of enjoyment out of that last night. I can learn some things from you. In fact, I already have.:lovestruc

Oh now that is the sweetest!

Wow - what a wonderful, amazing, fantastic night! :cloud9: Really, it sounds jsut about perfect. And, boy, did you all deserve it after the MK party wipeout. :headache:

I can't believe you're almost at the end - I enjoy reading your TRs so much!

Thank you Princess! We did deserve it after that crap night! I can't believe we are at the end either and it makes me SAD because I can't talk the man into going back even though we are all kind of starting to miss the fact that we don't have a Disney trip in the hopper. Maybe I will pull a LaLa and say we aren't going back and then secretly go back and not write a tr and then go back again and write a tr filling you all in on what you missed in the secret trip all while eating a big bucket of kfc and looking pretty every morning. I'm crossing my fingers.

Just found your TR and read all the way through it! love your humor and your stories! you have a precious fmaily. God Bless!

Oh what a sweet thing to read! Welcome heatherlynn and thank you for the kind words! :goodvibes

 I think you were just pretending not to care

Well actually the only part I cared about was if he was happy or disgusted as all get out due to the score. Based on the fun we had that night, I'm going to say that Bama probably won!!! Oh and Stitch finally said last week that he was so going ride ToT again because those ghosts just don't scare him anymore. ;)

Thank you sweet girl! It was a GREAT one!

All I gotta say is, I love that pic

Even though you can't see me in it

Yet I smiled for the camera anyway
Not realizing you can't see the last person in the dang row

I loved your latest installment

Quennifer!!! I love your screen name! Welcome!!!

Having been on the giving end of that Fantasmic package seating, I know that it rocks to spread the Disney love. I am soooo glad that you were given this moment by a complete stranger.

:wizard:

Java I would totally peg you to be the type to spread the magic!! It feels good doesn't it!!!

Does it still count today?

According to my math, YES! Thank you La!

If so, you are on the right track. No wonder people think his stroller is invisible, people can't see him over the handle bar.

I will not be because I will get to spend my free time at the World, and the dark side, with the LaLa's for at least the next six months. :goodvibes

Wow!!! So many Disser's at that horrid MNSSHP!!!!! I am so glad you let me know about my party tix but you know what, I can't even begin the search for them and get excited because Mr. Frick aint feeling the need to go back before they expire. Wait, I'm assuming they expire in one year....do they? Maybe I should go start digging around.....

:cheer2: Happy Friday and thanks for reading and responding!!!! I love reading your posts and I appreciate all the sweet and kind words!!! :flower3:

DED!

You have NO IDEA how hard this made me laugh. You're funny, Frick.

But I was thinking more along the lines of Danny DeVito short.

But you wrong for that!

Frick, what the heck are you talkin' about, you took one for the team?! That "wet hair, no makeup, wrinkled clothes" pic looks better than any of the ones where I've spent (scratch that, wasted) an hour blow drying my hair straight and having some one on one time with Estee Lauder. You look great, chick. No wonder people were throwing stuff at yall left and right.

BORG, La. But we knew it all along, didn't we?! Frick can't help but be beautiful. Even when she's doin' the Hamma dance at 8 Trax, or gettin' drenched on Splash, or screaming "DROP US AGAIN" with her hands in the air and her gum under her seat......

A little birdy told me it was your birthday.

Ok.

It wasn't a little birdy it was a lady.

No.

Not ZZUB.

Heh heh.

It was Ash.

Also... I think I'm a little tardy here. It's not your birthday anymore, is it?

No matter.

Because... it's almost Mother's Day: HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!!

So that's two for one.

I'm also adding in "Happy National Tourism Day" and "Happy School Nurses Day". You just missed "Hoagie Day" and "No Diet Day" which, ironically, are NOT on the same day. But they should be. There's also the "Annual Happy General Day". Plus: "No Sock Day" and "Lost Sock Memorial Day" and "Up and Down Sock Day". Also "Dance Like Larry King Day" followed by "National Macaroon Day"!!!!!

I might have made some of those up.

Cheers, Melly.

La you did notice how little that picture was didn't you?!? I think just about anyone would look great in a pic that size. There was no way that I would be putting my un-make-uped mug shot on the Dis in full size. BUT, you sure are sweet. And you know I love ya!

We woke to greet our last full day with breakfast on the mind. I had a waffle in the shape of a mini Mickey calling my name. Yum. Mr. Frick got me a Mickey waffle iron for Christmas two years ago and although we love the waffles, they just don’t taste like what we get at the World. They are a mighty close second though.

The plan for the day was to eat at Cape Mays and hit a park. We were going to go back to the Magic Kingdom so Lil Frick could ride BTMRR. As you’ve probably noticed, the theme for the trip was to chunk my well laid plans and roll with whatever we felt like doing. We did it again. Except for the Cape Mays part. We had to have us some Cape Mays. We had been smelling it all week long and it was high time that we broke away from the granola bar/rice krispie treat breakfast and sit down to a real meal.

We threw on some clothes and headed for the lobby. While we waited for our table, I tested the camera to see if it had finally dried out, and apparently it had.

Disney332-1-1.jpg

I went to the LaL2 School of Photography.

The boys ran over to the towel animal table when they set up shop.

Disney336-2.jpg

Disney338-1.jpg

We came home with about 10 towel animals this time. It was a big highlight of the trip. Who knew a washcloth and some stickers could be so much fun?

I noticed this little gem while we waited. What a cute little touch. Either that or someone was real bored the night before.

Disney333-2.jpg

Breakfast was splendid and we really enjoyed it. It was a nice way to start our last morning.

Disney342.jpg

We pondered over our options for the day. We could go back to the Magic Kingdom , we could go to another park or we could stay around the resort and take a Surrey Bike ride and a Sea Raycer ride. We left it all up to Lil Frick. He was the one that was itching to ride BTMRR again. We didn’t want him to leave disappointed. He stewed over the decision and it was a big toss up between the MK and staying around the resort. We weighed the pros and cons for each scenario and he ended up picking fun around the resort and we were all happy with the decision.

We went straight from breakfast to find a Surrey Bike. Our walk over to the Boardwalk was a nice one. Lil Frick held my hand and we talked about our trip. He said, “I don’t want to go home.” I asked him why and he replied “Because I’ve had a lot of ice-cream days here.” Bless him.
Disney343.jpg

He knows a Disney vacation means more sweets than usual, and to that little seven year old that means a lot. He ran on up to join his dad while I trailed behind and took in the scenery.

Disney347.jpg

This was the sweetest scene that I saw.

Disney351.jpg

I am a huge fan of the Epcot resort area. I never dreamed I would be, but I am. I can thank the Disboards for helping me find my way over there. We shopped along the Boardwalk while we waited on the Surrey bike rental shop to open up. The boys each got a new pin for their lanyard and before we knew it, it was time to ride.

Disney356.jpg

Our spin on the Surrey bike was sweet. The Boardwalk was rather deserted so we didn’t have to dodge anyone. It was going to be a hot day so thank goodness we did this before the heat really set in. After our bike ride we set sail on the Friendship boat for the Beach & Yacht Club harbor where we rented two, yes two, Sea Raycers.

Disney359.jpg

Disney371.jpg

Disney365.jpg

There is nothing like a little spin on Disney’s beautiful lakes in a little go cart of a boat. We had a super time and good memories were made. Thanks to a previous trip report I’ve read, the Miami Vice theme music ran through my head and I giggled.

We headed back to our room after our fun filled morning to change into our swimsuits. I had to snap some shots of the boys on the balcony.

Disney380-1.jpg

It was almost 10:30 by this point and we had not packed the first thing. We made the plan for me to stay behind and pack while Mr. Frick took the boys to the pool. We really wanted to squeeze in some more pool time because that is what the gang wanted to do. I packed without a care. I jammed things in the wrong suitcases, I didn’t fold anything and I packed us up in record time. I figured that I would rather sort the mess out at home rather than wasting my Disney day on packing neatly. I was sure to pack a bag with our going home clothes to take down to the pool. I called for the bellhop, had him lug our mess downstairs and I went down to enjoy our last hour by the sweetest pool ever.

We had plans to hit the road back home before three. After a lot of swimming, sandcastle building and a poolside lunch, we all went to our locker rooms by the pool and showered for the ride home. The boys wanted one last treat, so we got an Itsakadoozie and went through the lobby to get the car. We had to play with Stitch first.

Disney394.jpg

We made really good time getting dressed and ready and we had one last adventure up our sleeve before the dreaded car ride home. We were headed to Fantasia Gardens for a round of putt putt. Our boys LOVE putt putt. Seriously, they love it. We go to a rinky dink, pitiful little putt putt place around here and they just wig out with excitement. The water there is a sick, muddy green and the ‘putting greens’ have holes in them because they are so worn out. To them, Fantasia Gardens was like the 5 star luxury resort of putt putt. They were SO excited.

Disney411.jpg

Disney410-1.jpg

If you haven’t been to play putt putt at Disney, you are missing out! It is the cutest course ever and we were in awe at how neat it was. We had the best time there and we will definitely put it on our must do list when we go back. It was a lovely 16 holes of putt putt….and then the dark clouds came. We flew through the last two holes as the rain began to fall and by the time we had sunk the last ball in the hole that seems to eat your golf ball, we had to run to shelter. Mr. Frick ran to get the car and pick us up. We escaped without getting completely soaked which was good since we had an eight hour car ride in front of us.

You know it isn’t as sad to leave Disney when the weather stinks. I didn’t really get that sad actually this time. I have one sweet friend who hangs onto the flagpole on Main Street and cries before she leaves, and believe me I’ve felt like that a few times. But, this time was different. We had a blessed and wonderful trip with a lot of good memories. Even though we had taken time to relax, my body still ached as I sat for a while in the car. I was tired and ready to go home. We stopped by the same gas station in Macon as we had on the way down. Guess what? The same hot dog was still there.

Disney125.jpg

SO, we called the LaLa's & the NM's and met them there for dinner. Since La doesn't want her true identity known, I snapped a picture of them pulling out of the lot to prove that they were there.

DC035.jpg

We could not have asked for more out of our trip and we were very satisfied with our visit with Mickey. When we made it home, I had a vacation hangover of epic proportions. I was tired, I had a huge pile of suitcases to unpack, a filthy car to clean, a refrigerator to fill and a ton of laundry to do. Man, was Disney really worth it? I called my sweet Dis-friend to get the latest weather report and tell her about our trip. She and I discussed how I was feeling. You just come home wiped out, your legs and feet hurt and your wallet is on empty. We chatted for a while and she assured me that I would be itching to go again within a week. I believed her, and she was right.

I began that big pile of laundry that awaited me, and I began to smile and feel better. Believe me, this was the only time that doing laundry actually made me smile. Every piece of clothing I put into the wash reminded me of our good time at the World….the still damp clothes from MNSSHP, the stains from Mickey Bars, the powdered sugar remains from funnel cakes. Yes, all the good warm fuzzies from the trip came back and before I knew it, I was planning our next trip in my mind. Unfortunately, that next trip will stay in my mind for a while. Our family is heading elsewhere this year and I am totally cool with it. When we do make it back, we are staying longer and maybe, just maybe we will switch resorts mid-stay. Sweet. So, for all of you who are heading back this year, take care of the place for us will ya and don’t burn it down!!!!

Peace,
Frickles

Just had to say I'm so sorry this trip report got drug out for so long! I knew it would be a slow process, but I didn't know it would take me THIS long. Again, thanks for all of the sweet replies and thanks for reading!

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU FOR FINISHING!!!!! :thumbsup2 :goodvibes

SWEETNESS!! I am so proud of you for actually finishing this sucker, Frick. Of course, you are a TR finisher unlike some other people I know. :rolleyes1 (and yes, that is multiple people, including that flagpole hugging friend, and yes, I include myself in the bunch....)

Your day around the resort sounds heavenly. Little Frick is so smart!! I have always wanted to try Fantasia Gardens. Maybe next spring, as we plan on spending a few extra days. I remember how much your boys love putt putt. Something about a detour on the way out of Tennessee last summer rings a bell..... BTW, we call it mini-golf up here. Cart.

Love, love, love, love all your pictures of the sweetest boys ever. And the one of the three "boys" walking the Boardwalk hand in hand is just precious.

Glad you and NM and LaLa got some good eats on your way home. Sweet of them to meet up with you for a road trip dinner ;)

The offer still stands to get your guys up to Boston to see all the sights. Tell Little Frick I'll buy him all the ice cream he wants!!!!:lovestruc

Ash! We had to visit that awesome Tennessee course twice! It was way cool too. I can't believe y'all don't say "Let's play putt putt". It is called mini golf here too, but for some reason we ignore that and call it putt putt. Just like we call a Sprite & every other softdrink created a Coke. We have played at our dinky course TWO times this week. Lil Frick would do the Tiger Woods fist pump every time he sunk it!

I love the Boston offer! I think that we will take you up on that someday! :lovestruc You sweet thing you.

Dinner with the La's and NM's was nice. La has always said she is an over packer.....she wasn't kidding.

The boys are so cute. And that picture with the three holding hands is priceless.

Thanks for sharing your family vacation with us. You guys looked like you had a blast.

My kids love playing the mini golf we have her that is in the dark and every think glows in black light. Only thing is with my kids it could take all day to finish. Golfers they are not....

Now I know why she went to Ersal Studios. I mean...after so many times of driving that pimped ride...a celeb of magnificent gradure like the lala's are SURE to be spotted. In it.

And to think they even have GPS. :cool1:

Frick...I am so proud of you!! If your going where I think you might be going...
1. I am jealous
2. You are lucky
3. A trip report will still be in order...tfi.

That pic of your boys in the ears...adorable!! Framable!! Kissable and HUGGABLE!!

Good job my friend. Bravo. :moped:

Frick!!

I stumbled upon this final chapter and it was wonderful!!

A great read for a Saturday afternoon. I love love love the pictures!
And love love love me some putt putt too. It's putt-putt up in Canadia!

Excellent read.

And more excellent that you finished!

Thanks my friend!
