Anyone recently stay at The Fountains on International Drive? We are booked to stay there thru RCI in May and I wondered if anyone had an advice on a particular area to stay within the resort? Any comments are appreciated! Thanks!!:yay:

I'll be there two nights next week. I'll try to remember to come back with a report.

Just returned yesterday from a week stay at The Fountains. It is a beautiful resort. Very clean and well kept. After reading the reviews on TripAdvisor I requested a new bulding and they put us in #7. If you have specific questions I will try to answer them for you.

ARe buildings #7 and #8 new? Are #9 and #10 finished also? Are you able to park fairly close to your room/condo? Did you have a problem with noise? Thanks for the help and insight!!!! Greatly appreciated!!:flower3:

I don't think so but I honestly can't say if #9 & #10 have been completed.

Absolutley NO noise at all. We never heard our neighbors or even the toilets flushing in our own unit. Very soundproof all the way around.

They have a gorgeous outdoor (heated) pool. It's massive. Looked like there was a nice kiddie area at the pool, but we didn't have kids with us so I didn't check it out.

There were gas grills right outside our building.

Publix right down the street, very convienient!!

Daily shuttles to Disney (3X's)

Parking was never an issue. We had 2 motorcycles and 1 mini van. We were always parked right outside of the building. Actually we had the same spots all week. :)

Hope this helps,

Cherie

Thank you so very very much for the insight! One more question if you don't mind--did you use the shuttles? If so, how were they? On time? Quick and easy? Thank you:dance3:

No, sorry we did not use the shuttles. I recall they were scheduled 3 diffrent times (morning) going to and 3 returning (late afternoon, early evening) from Disney.
Pros: they drive
you save the $12 parking fee
Cons: you are on their schedule

I would drive, I don't like doing the parks on someone else's schedule.

Anymore questions please don't hesitate. ;)

This is a nice resort, but we had a few issues. The units have those high pressure toilets. Not only are your own toilets loud inside the unit, you can hear flushing noise from other units. We found the master bed quite uncomfortable. Ditto the sofa in the living room, which folds out into a bed. DH was disturbed by noisy guests outside the unit until the wee hours last night, though I slept through it all.

What building did you stay in? Did you hear other noises besides the toilets and noisy guests on the last night (voices, banging, people walking/moving around)? Did you complain to the main office on the noisy guests outside? Thanks for the input!!!! Much appreciated!!

We were in building 2. I slept through the noisy guests and DH did not complain to the office. No other noise besides what mentioned, but the resort didn't appear to be very full.

We took the promo tour Saturday morning. It was a couple of hours, but the salesman was very easy going. Painless all and all to get the discounted rooms.

Cherie -- who did you call (and how soon before your trip) to request a new room?

Thanks -
Wendy

Our experience was just the opposite. No noise from our toilets or other guests at all. And, we thought the beds were very comfy. Just the difference between the buildings I guess. That is why I asked for a newer building.

Wendy-We didn't ask for anything in advance, just during checkin. Also during checkin they made a little noise about us viewing the property for their timeshare pitch but I told them we were in a hurry and couldn't schedule anything then, it would have to be later. We were never contacted during our 1 week stay :)

Have a great time, wish we were going back-

Anyone recently stay at The Fountains and liked their specific room or building? Going in 3 1/2 weeks. Thanks!

We stayed at the Fountains a few months back and this is what has sold me on staying off site. Its a nice resort. I tink we may have been in an older building. I mean the outside looked a little older. It was close to the main building and right by the lake. We overlooked the BBQ ard and such.

That being said... I LOVED it. It was quiet and the beds were compfy as were the piillows. Now mind you.. I am a VERRRRRRY picky traveler. SO me saying this is saying A LOT! The only annoying thing... and really in the grand scheme of things it was NOT That big of a deal. Is that you are instructed to collect your trash and put it in the stairwell and call them. Towards the end of our stay there were pizza boxes and trash all over and despite us calling several times a day they never came. Finally after 3 days the cleaned it up.

You cant go wrong with the location.. you are near EVERYTHING. Have fun and enjoy!

We stayed there for a few nights at the end of our vacation a couple of weeks ago and wished we had just stayed there the whole time (we also stayed at Caribe Royale and Hark Rock Hotel)! We LOVED it! We were in bldg 8 (one of the newer ones). The room was beautiful with everything you could want in it (especially the kitchen - I couldn't believe all they had). It was clean, quiet and comfortable. I really enjoyed the size of the resort -- you could easily walk to both pools and I felt comfortable with my kids walking around together going places. Two pools -- one with water slides that was huge, and another that was indoor/outdoor. Lots of activities for the kids; happy hour drinks for us. My boys loved the basketball court...we didn't go paddle boating or fishing, but would have if we were there longer. Not one "sales" phone call or even anyone asking us to buy at check in. Really a gem! Enjoy your stay!

Thanks so much for sharing your experience! Did you happen to use the shuttles? I stayed at the Sheraton Vistana a few years ago but couldn't stay there again due to the time share rule of being within 4 years. I hope we are pleased with this resort!!

The price can't be beat for $120 for a 2 bedroom condo! I love to have the kitchen for breakfasts and the washer and dryer is sooo convenient. We stayed at the Vistana a few years ago and loved it...except for the huge palmetto bug in the bathroom at 3AM...thank goodness it was my husband that saw it and not me!!! I know it's Florida...but to have one in the room!! yikes! :))
