The Fort is getting a makeover

Its not that campers dislike the people at WL. But alot of us have heard comments while on the boat ride back from MK, the WL people will say to their kids thats where the poor people stay (referring to FW). We are not poor we just like to camp.
Oh, I know. We like to camp too. But I'm not tent camping in the winter or dragging the pop up down from NJ so we could end up staying at the WL someday. I am just going to have to wear a Fort shirt or something so you'll know I'm not one of them. ;)

We are kind of poor at the moment, but that's because all of our money goes to private school. I'd prefer to spend it on an RV, but it's a family decision.

To be honest, I camp at Fort Wilderness, and I stay at Disney Resorts. In fact, the only one I haven't stayed at is the Grand Floridian (was saving that for when I got married).

And I think I'm a pretty genuine person, and I've met lots of nice people at the resorts. I don't think camping has anything to do with being genuine, nice people come from all walks of life.

As much as people are saying the WL people talk bad about the Fort people, the Fort people are sitting here talking bad about the WL people. I hope you see my point ;)

Now, I will say, that people have a tendency to say "hello" more often in the Fort, but I think that is just the nature of camping. It's a bit different when you're walking outdoors compared to walking down a hallway, nature almost forces you to be friendly...lol

Like I've said before, I'd take a full hookup site any day over any Disney Resort. Where else you gonna find genuine people? Not at WL that's for sure.

well said stack............:thumbsup2

what worries me about the makeover...... especially the widening of lots and CHARGING more $$$$$..... will widen the gap of those working class people who made the fort what it is today........

Oh how did I know you would show up...lol.

Anyways, let's please not turn this into ANOTHER one of those threads, we've all said our peace, let's move on :)

That being said, does anyone know exactly how wide the new lots are going to be?

I can't remember if I read that somewhere, are there any numbers out yet?

they are getting rid of the coccina rock, and adding width. The guy at the RV show told me, but i forgot. I was too busy looking to buy my wife the perfect mop/knife/potatopeeler/combo.

ahh ok, that would make sense. I guess no more tents on those larger sites, although I guess except for fun you wouldn't really need one.

Does this mean you won't come to the FW/WL pool party? 'Cause I was sort of hoping we could count on you to wear a speedo, too.

lol, why wouldn't I come based off of that? :P

Just make me one of your kungalooshes, and I'll be there ;)

Does anyone know if the premium sites will include free beer taps? Otter concierge? Just curious about what you get other than a larger pad.....
