The Flying Fish

Last meal there was in late October 2016 (post-refurbishment). We were seated promptly at our reservation time, but given an odd table (they have some 2 tops near the front that are slightly higher tables than the regular tables; I didn't love this, but didn't complain either). I don't like the new décor as much as the old (I liked the whimsical nature of the prior décor; the restaurant now looks like bluezoo). Service was excellent; food was also quite good (as it always is). This was a typical great experience at Flying Fish and I will be returning on our next trip (in March).

I really enjoyed it. it's not going to be a go to location for me but i will be occasionally dining there (I'm local). Service and food was exceptional.

DH and I ate there last week. It may have been my best dining experience on property. We had a 7:45 ADR. We were seated on time and had excellent service throughout the meal. We enjoyed our cocktails. Our appetizers were delicious (DH had the pork belly, I had the freshest salad I've ever tasted). We had wine with dinner. The wine list is quite extensive. DH had the octopus entree at the recommendation of our server. He thought it was very good. I had the filet. Normally I wouldn't do that at a seafood place, but that's what I was hungry for. I'm so glad I did. The filet was excellent - better than the one I had at the Yatchsman this summer - and the sides it came with were interesting and perfectly paired. We had a light dessert. It was a pricey meal, but well worth it as I view it as also being the "entertainment" of the evening. I also liked that it was relatively quiet and felt more adult than some of the other restaurants on property. We highly recommend it.

We at there December 2016- amazing! Best meal ever on Disney property.

WE dined there in DEcember as well. It was one of our favorite dining experiences, and had we not dined at Tiffins FF would have been the best meal of an extraordinary trip.

We ate there in December the week before Christmas. We started out at the bar, which was great. We were seated promptly at FF, our server sucked. It was my adult son and myself so we were seated at a 4 top next to the wall, not a bad table but it was across from a large semi circle booth/table combination with the booth part facing out toward us. The people who were there when we arrived were maybe halfway through their meal and it turned over again before we left. The second set of people had 4 small children who were not happy and very vocal about it. Not the fault of FF but did make our time there not as pleasant as it could have been. Our server had two or three tables on our side, all the others got better service than us, not sure why since from the moment he appeared at our table he was not as attentive as he was at the others. The person who sat us told us to make sure we asked about a special, which we did, had we not it would not have been mentioned and he seemed surprised we asked about it. We heard him immediately tell the other tables about it as soon as he appeared. As I mentioned, we watched a very large table turn over twice while we were there, we did not have appetizers as we had already had those at the bar, we did have drinks and dessert. Our meal was good, not as good as Tiffins but good. I had grouper, my son had some other fish I don't remember what. We shared a dessert, again can't remember what it was so it must not have wowed us. There was a cute picture on the wall beside us of a woman dressed in 20s or 30s period swimsuit with a very large man sized fish standing by her side. We amused ourselves during our long wait between courses making up stories about the picture so at least we were amused. It was the only time our entire trip the server only got a 15% tip, we normally tip 20%. So, decent food, lousy service. Would we go again? Probably not soon but only because there are a number of other places we want to try first and if we are going to repeat it would be Tiffins.
