The floorplan of the KT@CR Villas!!!

Call me crazy, but I was always led to believe that vanity sinks belong in the actual bathroom. I despise the setup of sinks outside on the carpeted floor. I always manage to drop water on the carpet. And sometimes you really want a sink where you're bathing.

That's why I prefer the HA room designs. You lose the dual sinks but you get a sink in the actual bathroom with tile water-friendly floor. If you want/need a sink where the kitchenette is, there's one there too.

Nope, I won't call you crazy...I'm sure there are many that feel the way you do, but I actually prefer the sink and vanity outside of the bathroom. For my family, It makes for getting things done quicker..The kids can be brushing their teeth or drying their hair or my husband could be shaving while someone is using the shower or bathroom. I do agree with Judy WI that it would make more sense if the kitchenette and the closet were switched around.

:cool1: A new placed to stay:banana:

How difficult to you think it will be to get a 1Br at the 7 month mark
for Christmas:rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

While I agree that having the vanity outside the bathroom generally makes it easier to get ready in the morning, I would think that this benefit is reduced when you put the vanity back to back with the kitchenette. Even with just 2 of us, I think it will be a problem. We are just not used to coordinating the timing of toothbrushing with making toast!

With a family of 4, this one factor would probably cuase me to use the extra points for a 1 BR. Maybe this is why the point values for studios are comparatively lower than the values for 1 BRs and 2 BRs.

Ok one question - Wonder why they don't have the floor plans for the "inside curve" villas? The villas that will face the pool.....or maybe there won't be any, is that possible. Wouldn't that be strange? has this been discussed?
I will say it makes sense not to have any villas in the inside of the building. The space will be very limited there. Maybe the inside will be a corridor and there won't be any villas facing each other in the interior.
I haven't seen the actual building, so I don't know how wide it is, but I can definetely see villas in the outside only.

On the inside of the building the rooms are rectangular with some open space at the 'corners'. There are approximately 2 two bedrooms on the inside of the north and south (CR) sides and 4 two bedrooms on inside of the MK side which would have a straight view of Bay Lake.

As far as the bathroom sink. I think it's placement if flawed. Shouldn't a bathroom sink be in or next to the bathroom? Not around the corner in an alcove with another sink?

But there are a couple things I do like. I like that the new DVC plans are putting more square footage in the living/diningroom area. Which leads to less in the bedrooms but it was a good move. Now we have room for the sleeper chair, extra bathroom and a larger table. To me having a larger dining table is huge. That was one of my main compaints that the villas slept 8 but you could only seat 4 (maybe 6 if they are small) at the table. This looks like a real 3x6 table.

The combined kitchenette-vanity sink area in the studio is a real turn-off for me but we weren't planning on adding on there anyway. Perhaps there is still time to change the design. Otherwise, it looks very nice.

Here's the thing that grosses me out about it. Say you have a little boy about 6-8 yo old. He does his business in the bathroom and then needs to wash his hands. But to do that he needs to exit the bathroom, walk around the corner and into the kitchen to find the nearest sink. Now anyone wanna take bets what he touches along the way or how easily he finds the bathroom sink vs. the kitchen sink?

I use the little boy example because having babysat both nieces and nephews of this age, I know well who is the messiest bathroom user. I swear little boys just don't understand what "ick" means. :crazy2:

Not to go all Mr. Monk on you guys but we all know how well housekeeping disinfects things. This is why sinks belong in a bathroom.

Or if he finds a sink at all?? That corner would be a real deal breaker with my girls. Out of sight out of mind.

we need an aireal shot of the footprint of site;)

imo, it'd be a mistake to not have Bay Lake Views:confused3 ; would think the cost ratio would require it

at the very least studios facing sideways with a glass wall of windows overlooking the lake:cloud9: opposite the MK onespopcorn::
