Caitlin told me she'd decided to try "shopping her way around the World". She was going to get herself a souvie in each country.

Sounds like a nice alternative to drinking around the world!

Hey Dawn and Caitlin! I'm back from WDW and just got all caught up with your TR. Congrats on running the race Caitlin. And Chefs de France sounds like a great way to follow it up. I really think that it's my favorite restaurant at EPCOT. Plus, now that it had Remy it's even more fun!

I was a little nervous about meeting Remy since I am not a fan of rodents BUT it was a lot of fun and him dancing while his "friend" sang was the best!

France is so pretty! I love just sitting by the fountain and watching the people go by. Les Chefs looks really pretty as well. And Remy is so cute!

I love Caitlin's shopping around the World idea. I might just have to try that sometime.

You're so right about France! It is lovely and people watching in Epcot is great!

Remy is so cute! I think that would be so fun to see. We've enjoyed Chefs in the past as well. My hubby especially likes it. I've done the "shopping around the world" before as well, but I think it was more to buy a shot glass from each country as souvies for friends. That was fun to do also.

I think it would be a nice change to tour Disney when it's not sweltering hot.

Shopping around the world was fun and wasn't too costly. Her items ranged from $2 for a keychain up to $50 for a hoodie(which she would have bought anyway) so it could be done on a budget.

I wasn't really looking forward to eating in France so I was pleasantly surpised by the experience

Things with grandma started going downhill fast

Those prices aren't to bad then , I thought maybe it would cost a lot , didn't realize you could find things in each country for as cheap as 2 bucks

Oh no , poor Grandma

I'm not sure about Chefs Le France...or the rat. I've been to LeCellier and like it, but I wait to experience other places before I repeat. Just a tip: the bread at LeCellier is the same bread as Biergarten and the soup is the same as Big River Grille.

The Flower & Garden festival was great! It started earlier this year which was a bonus. I also went on the tea talk tour thing given by the Uk pavilion and that was cool.

Pressed pennies are a great souvie! Dale and Caitlin have always done that together so we didn't press any in his absence.

I bet we were constantly "just missing" each other! We did have our eyes open looking for you!

Thanks for the restaurant tips! That might give us a reason to check out Big River Grille in August. To be honest, I wasn't sure about the rat either but since Caitlin wanted to go I went went with it. As someone who finds mice (real mice not Mickey or Minnie ) terrifying Remy was cartoon like enough to not freak me out

I love the Flower Fest and going earlier gave a different view of it. Usually when we go there are Impatiens everywhere and this time there was more greenery or pansies. Nice to see something new!

I remember your trip report where you travelled with your brother and found it challenging so I'm sure you'll understand where we're coming from

When we left off, we had just finished dining with Chef Remy and with full stomachs it was time to find Caitlin's souvie from France. She decided on a postcard with a picture of the Eiffel tower. It may have been the least expensive thing she bought at under $2. It wasn't until later that we realized we should take pics of all her stuff, so forgive us for no pic.

As we departed France we passed Caitlin's favorite Disney couple

Our next stop was Morocco! We always seem to skip this country so our shopping mission was a great excuse to explore this lovely pavillion!

Look at the wonderful theming of the store!

The purchases, a hookah and a hand keychain.

After picking up the keychains we headed off to the Land of the Rising Sun otherwise known as Japan.

(You can see that it was starting to get crowded at Epcot)

As you probably know the store there is HUGE and we spent quite a bit of time there! What caught our attention? Well all the little wind up toys We spent the longest time playing with them and eventually she purchased a little seal (under 5$) that spins and balances a tiny ball on his nose. It was very cute and I guess we were so busy playing we forgot to get pics!

When we arrived in the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave, we were greeted by some old pals! They were saluting community gardens.

(I'm guessing as the F&G Fest went on Mickey and Minnie grew some clothes )
For her USA souvie she got a reusable tote bag that has the names of all the countries on it, that she uses at the gym, and a hoodie that has Mickey heads colored with flags from all the nations. As you can probably guess these items were among the costliest.

We bid our homeland farewell and headed onward to Italy. We quickly spotted those spaghetti loving dogs Lady and the Tramp.

We took some time to admire the beauty of the country...

Her purchase from Italy was a Mickey head pin colored to look like the Italian flag. A very cute addition to her ever growing pin collection

Next up on our world tour was the land of our ancestors, Germany. The first thing that caught our attention was the little train village. We noticed that it was decorated for the Flower and Garden Festival and had little F&G banners and many pots of flowers. So cute!

In the shop in Germany she found the perfect thing! It was a small stuffed Dopey and it was adorable. He was holding a sign that said "free kisses" and he had red lip prints on his cheeks.

(a couple passed us as we took this pic and they thought it was so cute they asked where she got him and headed off to buy one)

We then spotted Dopey, the lovely princess and the other dwarves in topiary form....

The next stop was the African outpost where she got 2 animal print Mickey head keychains. They were cute and very inexpensive.

Before we knew it we were all the way to China!

About this time Caitlin was getting thirsty from all that world travelling so she stopped for a refreshing beverage, frozen oolong tea.

It was then time for more shopping! She found quite a bit that caught her eye but settled on this kid's tshirt. (One of the many perks of being petite is she can still fit in kids clothes which can be a nice $ savings!)

Our next stop was to the land of the Trolls and home of the Maelstrom. We had our GAD fast passes that we had not yet used so we were able to bypass the 30 minute line and walk right in

You might notice in these pictures Caitlin seems to have her jacket off and on. It was that kind of day. Warm when the sun was out and really chilly when it decided to hide behind those big puffy clouds!

We waved goodbye to Norway and headed on to the last country on our world tour.....Mexico!

Our first stop was to see an old friend of Caitlin's...

We then climbed the pyramid

and entered the marketplace

Before we did any shopping though we took a Fiesta Gran Tour!

After our cruise she picked up this travel mug, which she never got to use because it broke the day we got home!

As we said adios to Mexico and headed toward Future World we watched a woman climb over the rail to get a pic with the banner. She then proceeded to sit down and call to the ducks! It was really odd and we couldn't believe that no one stopped her!

This seems like a good place to end. Next time you'll hear about our adventures in FW which include losing grandma and the ecv and me almost losing my lunch on a ride that I swear I will never, ever ride again!
