*ThE FiVe LeGgEd GoAt VaCaTiOn GIRLS ONLY TRIP! *8/27*THE END*

Go Michigan!!! :goodvibes

But which color are we going....now that is the question!! lol I am a student at U of M, so I guess we know which color I'll be choosing. (but green is nice too!! ;)

I bleed GREEN all the way:thumbsup2

We're pretty neutral :lmao: We usually cheer for all the home teams and if it's UM vs MSU we usually root for the underdog.
Caitlin goes to EMU and I graduated from there, so they're "our team" :goodvibes

WOOT! WOOT! for Photopass!

I think it's a great service, especially if it can be shared for cost reasons. The borders are cute (though I liked holiday ones better) and the magic shots are just wonderful.

Loking fwd to more TR, ladies!

I was a little disappointed in the lack of variety in border choices. But the Princess and the Frog and Up did have some cute ones!

Hi guys! Dawn here, doing this update solo. Caitlin and I agreed I'd finish telling you all about the rest of our time at AK and then she will fill you in on how we SPENT our evening. (a little clue for ya ;))

Ok, when I left off we were having a yummy snack at the Yak and Yeti cs. While we ate we reflected on all we'd seen so far and how we wanted to fill the time until EMH began in just under an hour.

We decided to take a little trip Down Under. Yep, we were off to see Nemo! Grandma had never seen the show (or movie) so we told her she was in for a treat! I must admit, I was not a fan of Nemo when it came out (I have a slight hearing loss and the movie was really hard for me to hear) but I :lovestruc this show! The puppets (?) music and costumes are amazing! If you've seen this show you totally know what I mean and if you haven't seen it, well next time you are at AK make plans to catch it! I'm sorry to say we don't have any pictures to share though! We were in the handicap/ecv section and it is as the top of the facility. I was pretty sure pics wouldn't come out so we just sat back and enjoyed the show. Everybody now....It's a Big Blue World....:)

When the show was over it was after 5:00 which meant the park was officially "closed" and EMH had begun :cool1:

Our plan for EMH was pretty simple. We wanted to see the park lit up at night and Caitlin wanted to ride

twice. Once while it was still light outside and once after dark. So we headed to EE. When we got there the posted wait time was 15 minutes:banana: Ya gotta love EMH! So the brave one of our little group took off to challenge Mt Everest and the Yeti, while the chickens decided to tour

So here, in no particular order, is my photo shoot of Asia....

As you can see, I had a blast taking pictures that day! Our last couple trips Dale has been the designated cameraman and I really had forgotten how much I enjoy taking pictures!

While we were touring Asia, grandma and I both commented that it was getting "Cold". It had been chilly all day but the wind was picking up and we were shivering a little. Now when 2 Michigan girls, wearing layers of jackets and spring sweaters, are cold you know it's cold :rotfl: Soon after that we had a text from Caitlin. She was in the EE gift shop and had something to show us. I was really suprised that in under 15 minutes she had ridden EE and already picked out some things at the store! When we got there she showed us this

momsdispics071-2.jpg

It was a fleece zip up that she wanted to buy for her dad. (isn't she a sweetie :cutie:) I told her I knew he'd love it so she picked it up for him. And yes, I was right, he did love it!

When we got back outside we told Caitlin we thought that it would be best if we headed back to Pop. We were pretty sure when the sun went down it would be terribly cold! She agreed so we headed out to the AK bus stop.

When we got to the bus stop our bus karma from earlier continued and within 7 minutes we were back on a bus!! (I must say Pop has the best bus system of any WDW resort we've ever stayed at!)

When we got back to Pop it was time to find our room. I had requested a ground level, close to Classic Hall in the 50's or 60's. We got ground level, close to CH in the 70's. Two out of three is not too bad! When we got in the room our checked bag and our carry-ons were already there! We did a quick unpacking and I disinfected the room (yep I'm one of those people) We then decorated our window with the Princess and the Frog and Fairy window clings I had gotten at the Dollar Tree. The window looked really cute (and you'll have to take my word cuz I didn't take a pic) and it makes it easier to find the room.

With all the unpacking done and the window decorated it was time for us to head out for the evening. Where did we go? Well you'll have to wait for Caitlin to fill you in...

Those are some great photos of AK that you got there! I have never gotten the chance to see AK EMH, bu I think we might be able to with our next trip. Sounds like the crowds were great at that time.

Did you guys get one of the new Pop renovated rooms in you were in the 70's? How was the room?

Waiting to see what you guys do next....

Love the photo shoot of Asia! And yay for ordering your photopass CD. :thumbsup2

It's funny our camera eyes are very similar at AK. Your shots are very similar to the ones I took.

I can think of no better way to end my day that reading your latest entry!!! Just makes me smile;)

We are some of those people who have never seen the Nemo show because so many people that I know told me it was a waste of time...clearly, they have lied to me:mad: It will definitely be on our list for September.

Love that Caitlin got on EE so fast and those pictures around Asia are stunning my friend:woohoo: Everyone always thinks to take pictures of the characters and rides, but I love the "attention to detail" pictures...they are my favorites!!!

I saw that fleece that Caitlin picked up for her dad on a gentleman at AK the day we were there and I LOVED it.....I think part of my LOVE for this item was it was cold!!!! I feel the same way you do.....if we were cold, it was cold!!

Hope you have a wonderful week, can't wait for Caitlin's update....I can't imagine what you 3 got up to in the evening:rolleyes1

If AK EMH fits in your schedule, go! We were there for EMH in May and walked right on the safari! (On this trip though the safari closed at 5 due to an early sunset)

We did not get a renovated room but our room did not even seem like it needed a renovation, except for the tv which did not work very well the night we tried to watch American Idol. The building kiddie-corner from us was getting a renovation and I peeked in and it looked like they were getting new mattresses too? I think it's great though that it's getting a renovation before it looks like it needs one. Better off not letting the place look bad!

Thank you! I'll share those pics when it arrives :)

Isn't it fun to photograph around AK? I really enjoyed that this trip and I can't wait to go back! Great minds think alike I guess ;)

Aww thank you! Glad we could make you smile!
Yes you need to check out Nemo!

Thank you for the compliment on the pictures!

I know both our trips were cold. I just feel lucky that we didn't have to deal with rain like you guys did :sad2: After she bought that we saw quite a few men wearing it too :)

You have a great week too! I'm pretty sure from all Caitlin's facebook posts you know exactly where we went

Nice update. I think I'm kind of in the same boat (no pun intended) as you as far as Nemo goes. The movie isn't one of my favorites that PIXAR has made, but the show is really fantastic. Dare I say, I think I like it even more than Festival of The Lion King.

Thanks! I don't think I can pick which one I like better since they are so different. On our 2nd AK day we end up seeing FOTLK twice and we discovered the show is very different depending upon where you're seated.

Hmm, wonder where I was in AK when you were there? I'm going to have to compare notes later. ;) But it was, indeed, getting very cold!

I LOVE the Nemo show! In my humble opinion, way better than Lion King. The puppetry, the actors, the music....just great.

Your pics are awesome. I like your eye too. did you see where EE lined up with the temple? Isn't it cool?

I wish I can ride EE, but I still need to work on my roller coaster issues. I did try to overcome it by doing the Sum of All Thrills.

and Safari would be great at EMH. I hope I can do that sometime!

Thanks Dawn ! The Big Blue World is now officially stuck in my head for at least a month ! :lmao:

Great Photo shoot of Asia :thumbsup2 I hope to take more scenery pictures on our trip in September :)

Caitlin is so sweet , that is a really nice jacket glad to hear her Dad liked it !

Can't wait to see what your nighttime adventure is gonna be popcorn::popcorn::

Another great update! :thumbsup2 I can't wait to see Finding Nemo this time around... it's on the list and now I am sure I don't want to miss it!

Can't wait to hear more...

From the time we arrived at MCO we were keeping an eye for you. We probably just missed you, all day. I had read on another TR about the temple and EE and I went looking for that just for that reason. (gotta love all the stuff you learn on here!)

I did EE once. That was my first and last time. I am not a fan of those kinds of rides but on Caitlin's graduation trip she got me on EE and RnRC. I was um not a fan of either :rotfl:

That song is infectious isn't it?! :rotfl:

Thank you! It is easier to take scenery pics when you aren't travelling with little ones so if you don't get to take many in Sept it gives you something to look forward to as they age :)

She is a very thoughtful girl and was good to me too :goodvibes

I can't wait to see pics of it at night! Fun to do EMH there. :goodvibes

Unfortunately we didn't get any pics after dark since we left before sunset. That will be something on my must do list for another trip though!

The worst part of EE is going backwards. I figured out that if you sit on the right hand side, you get less G-forces. Just a little tip if you do overcome your fears :thumbsup2 How did you like Sum of All Thrills? It's a great way to get used to the roller coaster feeling.

I watched Nemo: The Musical when I was there last time. It just doesn't do it for me. I like the original movie much better. The puppetry and costumes are really neat, don't get me wrong but some of their perspective is a little off. For example, why is Bruce a quarter of the size of the pelican? Just sayin'.... FOTLK remains my favourite show at AK.
