We've had this holiday booked since May, so I feel I've waited long enough to make my PTR! :rotfl:

Whilst celebrating our third anniversary with a mini-break to Plymouth, my boyfriend and I decided that it was about time that we went on a proper holiday together. We tossed around a few ideas about Italy and Greece before he out-right said, "Unless of course you'd rather go to Disneyland Paris?" - It was like he'd read my mind!

Last December I celebrated my 18th birthday in DLP with my family, and after seeing the photos of all the decorations my boyfriend decided he wanted to go for Christmas. It all fell into place; we decided to go for the week over my 19th birthday, as means to celebrate that and to give ourselves something to look forward to through the first few months of university.

The Cast

Me - 18 (turning 19 on the trip!), rediscovered my love of Disney after being 'too cool' for it in my mid-teens. Favourite rides are Rock'n'Rollercoaster, POTC and BTM. Takes far too many photos and gets far too sentimental!

Grant - 18, a wannabe cynic who secretly loves Disney. Loves all things Star Wars and Stitch. Can't wait to try Star Tours and POTC, and to eat at Blue Lagoon. A real sweetie who indulges my inner child!

(The creature on the left in the third photo is my sister (12) who loves Disney as much as I do and is very resentful of me going without her! She's already given me a list of photos and merchandise that she's after and is demanding we have a girly trip for my 20th - who am I to argue that?)

We're going from the 12th to the 16th of December, travelling by Eurostar and staying at Hotel New York (a new one for me, in living memory I've only stayed at DLH!).

Our plan of action is to travel to London by train on the 11th and spend the night at my dad's flat, then on the way back we'll spend a weekend in London soaking up the Christmas atmosphere. On the 19th we're going back to my family home in Cornwall where we'll be spending our first Christmas day together!

We both love food, so meals have become a big part of our plans. We're hoping to eat at Annette's for a late lunch on our first day, then for our three whole days we're hoping to do Blue Lagoon (my favourite), Inventions and Walts. The last two I've never tried before, so I'm very excited!

I'm itching to go now and have started analysing my ticker as each day passes! I know it's going to be emotional sharing somewhere so special to me with Grant, and I can only hope that it will be the start of a long string of DLP memories together. :lovestruc

Sounds absolutely fabulous!   What a lovely treat for just before your first Christmas Day together.

We ate at Walt's, Inventions and Blue Lagoon on our last trip - they're my three favourite restaurants :thumbsup2 and we had a lovely time at all of them.

Thanks Ware Bears, I'm so excited! We just booked our tickets up to London and found out that my family will also be spending the weekend there when we get back - it's all panning out to be a lovely start to Christmas. :goodvibes

It's always great to hear good reviews of restaurants, we're feeling very sound in our choices.

I'm not normally on these boards, but I stumbled across your PTR whilst mentally planning my non-existent trip to DLP (oops! ;) )

Great plans though, looks like it's really coming together! I've never been to those restaurants, so I look forward to seeing what you think of them :goodvibes

Steffi xx

No doubt two months from now when this trip is over I'll be back to planning my own non-existent trips, Steffi!

Thanks, hopefully it will all come together well. I'm going to try and get photos of the food in the restaurants, however I have a feeling that it may embarrass my boyfriend slightly!

It's less than four weeks until we go! BF and I have been talking about very little else since we broke through the one month mark, and even though I'm full of flu right now I'm keeping my spirits up by making last minutes plans.

We're going to get our Euros sorted over the next couple of weeks, then the weekend before we go (Friday 2nd - Sunday 4th) we're going down to Cornwall to drop of Christmas presents and that sort of stuff at my parent's so that we don't have to lug it all the way to London and back.

We've booked out trains to Paddington for Sunday 11th, going from Bristol Temple Meads (a good half way point, since I'm in Bath and BF is in Cardiff). My dad has sorted out an extra set of keys to his flat in London, where we'll stay on the Sunday night. His flat is in an old warehouse, and underneath there are Chinese, Indian and Italian restaurants, as well as an Irish pub! Needless to say we'll find something to do that evening.

In the morning we'll catch the tube into St Pancras, most likely get very lost, and eventually find the Eurostar.

Our plan of action for the parks right now is as follows -

Day 1 - Drop bags at HNY and get some lunch at Anette's before heading into the park. Explore Main St and the castle, try to get a ride on BTM, watch OUADP, maybe squeeze in a few rides like POTC and Phantom Manor, then watch the tree/castle lighting ceremonies. We'll then grab a hotdog from Casey's and find a spot for Fantillusion. Park closes at seven, so we might have a drink at the hotel before bed.

Day 2 - Set aside for really exploring the main park. We'll try and do Buzz and Space Mountain during EMH, but other than that our only solid plans are Star Tours (for BF) and a late lunch at Blue Lagoon. Might squeeze in a couple of hours at the Studios during the afternoon.

Day 3 - My Birthday! :cool1: We'll do Fantasyland during EMH and cover all of the thrill rides. Might park hop in the afternoon, but I'm set on watching the parades/ceremonies again today before having a cocktail at Cafe Fantasia and dinner at Inventions.

Day 4 - Our last full day. Today will probably be a case of revisiting all of our favourite spots. Hopefully we'll be having a late lunch at Walts, but we've yet to make a solid booking so I'm not getting my hopes up (too much!).

Day 5 - We'll get packed before a last scout of our favourite rides. Then it's back to London where we'll spend the weekend with my parents, brother and sister. My mum and I are hoping to have afternoon tea at Ladurée on one of the days to celebrate my birthday. :cloud9:

So that's our plan! I'm so excited, it's unreal! BF and I are making Disney gift boxes to give each other when we get to HNY, and the other day I bought him a small Stitch plush and a retro Mickey mug. I'm hoping to get him some chocolate and a small bottle of amaretto to finish it off.

Thanks, River! :thumbsup2

I can't believe it's less than two weeks now! We've been sorting out all of the technicalities over the past two weeks; insurance, currency, EHIC. Now that all of that's out of the way I'm ridiculously excited.

The only thing I'm a bit apprehensive about is navigating our suitcases around the tubes, but I'm sure we'll be fine.

I've just caught up and your plans sound wonderful :cloud9:

You will both have an amazing time I'm sure

Can't wait to hear all about it when you get back

Wow this trip sounds amazing - Xmas, birthday, first trip together...so much magic! You'll love HNY at Xmas too im more than a bit jealous. Can't wait for the trip report :)

Thanks so much, both of you! :goodvibes

I can't believe it's only one week until we go! I'm going to start making lists for packing today, and slowly start getting things together over the rest of the week.

We made our reservations the other day; Blue Lagoon at 13:00 on Tuesday, Inventions at 20:00 on Wednesday and Walts at 13:00 on Thursday. :lovestruc

Oh this sounds amazing :) & you're there now- I have just joined this site, and am looking through all the DLP reports, getting excited for my little trip
Can't wait to hear all about it when you get back, and see lots of photos xo

We're heading up to London tonight then catching the Eurostar tomorrow morning! I can't believe it's finally here, I doubt I'll be doing much sleeping tonight. :rotfl:

Goodbye for now, I'll be back with a trip report later this month!
