the Firm check in Week 3

Today was my I feel whiney and I have a headache day. So I set aside my firm and did the workout on the tv show I like. Thinking oh yeah easier, well let's just say I have shoulders now! I plan to do lower body sculpt with Libby tomorrow and the total body with allie (from set 2) on Friday especially since we are celebrating DH's birthday. It helps me to have an off day from the firm because I don't want to get sick of the tapes and then it's a great excuse not to exercise. It really does help me emotionally to work out.

Hi Tiger Bear! Ooooo that Body Sculpt is tough, isn't it?! My legs always start to shake after a while during the lower body portion. BSS2 is my favorite! I love Complete Aerobics + Weight Training(CAWT) and Maximum Cardio Burn + Abs(MCB) the best. The moves are kind of tricky at first, but now I find them really fun!
Most FIRM videos that use the Fanny Lifter and do squats, hover squats and leg presses will really target your butt!:) I had to really watch the instructors to perform the leg presses and squats properly because I was feeling it mostly in my thighs, not glutes. Just check your form against theirs if you're not feeling like the exercises are targeting the area they're supposed to--correcting my form really helped me. I'm so glad you're FIRMing with us! Hi s&K'smom! I think you're doing the right thing by alternating your exercise routines! The last thing you need is to get burned out and frustrated. I did Cardio Sculpt this morning--that's the video that got me hooked on Firm workouts. I'll be taking a rest day tommorow instead of Sunday because I've got a 7:30am Muffins For Mom date with ds8 at his school! And ya' know what....I'm eating a WHOLE muffin (maybe two!) After that I'm going shopping for more spring/summer clothes (hmmm...OK...maybe just one muffin:) ). If I don't get the chance to check in with you tomorrow, KEEP ON WORKING HARD! Good Morning! I am loving these Firm workouts even though I'm kinda tired when I'm done. I've already noticed improvement in my shoulders, back, and knee area. I was starting to get a little cellulite around the knees but it is gone now! Yeah!

Today is Complete Aerobics with Weight Training I think the instuctors name is Emily but I'm not positive. She is blond. I like her so I don't mind watching her for 55 minutes.

Thursday and Friday are rest days.

Goodmorning fellow FIRMies, (WOW that's neat to say for the first time), thanks for welcoming me and the words of encouragement :D . Yesterday was a planned off day for me and I'm glad it was becaues I was a little sore after doing a FIRM tape for the first time in months on Mon. Today I feel much better and I will get on the treadmill for 60-90 min. and tomorrow I WILL get up at 5am again so that I can get in a FIRM tape before work. (I am really hoping this check in thread is going to keep me motivated to get out of bed early on the mornings I work so that I can get my exercise in.)

Today was Cardio Sculpt with Allie. I barely made it through, but I am so happy I did. My friend loaned me her copy of Windsor Pilates while she is recuperating from surgery. I think I will give that a try tomorrow and if it works out, maybe add it in to my rotation.

Good morning fellow FIRMettes!

I did BSS1 cardio sculpt this morning. I feel nice and energized today. I noticed the undies I had on yesterday were very droopy in the back. I realized this morning when I looked in the mirror that my bottom is raised a little higher than it used to be causing my undies to sag down my backside - FIRM fanny lifter at work, I'd say! So maybe I don't hate the hover squats as much as I thought I did. :)

Melanie - it's so nice to see you posting. I am so proud of you that through your grief you are still taking care of yourself by exercising. Big big {{{hug}}} to you!

TigerBear - aren't the results you get with the FIRM amazing! I have to refrain myself from buyging BSS2 everytime I see the informercial! I want to wait until onederland and order the set as my reward to myself. Keep up the great work!

Blueeyes - it sounds like you are on a roll. Did I read your post correctly? You're doing two tapes in one day! You go that is awesome!!!!

sueg - you are truly an inspiration! I know you'll make good on your "no off day until WDW" quest. I intend to follow in your footsteps. I just wish I was staying at a DVC resort so I could bring my FIRM tapes with me! I will find a way to work out though. You are doing an awesome job - keep it up!

s&k'smom - I completely agree with you that my emotional outlook is much brighter with exercise - I feel so much better physically and mentally when I use the FIRM.

luvmydogs - Cardio sculpt is what got me hooked on the FIRM too! Enjoy your muffin and enjoy your shopping trip!

Amanda - Hi girl! You are plugging along so well. I'm so proud of you!!! Isn't it awesome the way you can see visible results, just like they say? I have cellulite on both my upper knee areas, my little dimples I call them. I am happy they are shrinking and I hope they will be completely gone by summer. Keep doing what you're doing and enjoy your rest days!

Cheryl - I know you'll find all the inspiration you need to get up early to work out. You'll have company in the mornings because I get up at 5:30 to work out and I'm sure other FIRMies get up early to work out as well. We're all in this together and we can do it together!!! :)

Hi everyone,

Today was Super Cardio Mix, one of my new ones. This tape was 63 minutes, so it was nice and long and all CARDIO. Lots of high impact, which I modified some and made them lower impact. My knees did well though. Towards the end when I was getting tired, I was fumbling with the moves. It probably didn't help that I did it this evening and not in the morning. I always seem to struggle more at night when I am tired. Of the older ones that I just bought, I like this one. It seemed the newest of all the ones I have looked at. I hate the old mansion that they use and all the colorful outfits. The way the new ones are, really keeps you concentrating on the workout and not trying to figure out who or what to watch.

Tomorrow I am going to do Body Sculpt and one of my ab workouts. Maybe I will try 5 day abs.
 
Today I did Body Sculpt and 5 day abs (day 1). I'll post more later, just wanted to say I did it and even got up early to do it!

Good morning, today was Lower Body Sculpt II with Libby. Boy do I now have thighs. It's almost 30 minutes and it really works the thigh area which I love. Have a great day everyone.
 
I did it, I got out of bed a 5 am, I even woke up before the alarm! I did Super Body Sculpt again. I think I had better form today as I am starting ti get used to the different moves again! Off to a long day at work now.

FIRMIES!
I wanted to thank you guys for being such a motivational resource. I posted my own personal "no off day til WDW" quest & have enjoyed sharing it with you. But starting Wednesday, I began coming down with the head cold from h*ll, which I'm sure I caught from DS(16). Last night, I had such a sore throat that I woke up at midnight & took advil w/ a gallon of water. Alarm goes off at 5:30 & I feel horrible. Tell DH he can exercise first, because despite my quest, I'm going to pass. Get DSs off to school & my throat starts to feel better. I'm not packing lunch today, so there's some extra time & before I know it, I'm heading to the family room, where I did Ab Sculpt w/ Lisa Kay. Not a longer tape, as I set out in the quest, but I know I thought of you guys as I evaluated how I felt & whether I would pass on exercise, less than 48 hrs. from WDW.
Anybody who doesn't believe that an inspirational tool, like the WISH Bd. or the FIRM thread, makes a difference should think again. I was ready to post my quest failure if I didn't exercise, but I am so much happier to post that I toughed it out! Thanks, again!

Today is a rest day for me so I thought I would try something a little different. My friend who recently had back surgery let me borrow her Windsor Pilates DVDs. I did the basics workout this morning and WOW! I think I might add this in to my FIRM rotation. I'm going to do the 20 minute workout tonite and see how that goes, but I like the idea of a new workout to help give a wakeup call to my muscles. ::yes::

MY VCR IS BROKEN!!! :mad: :mad: :mad:

I had a 7:30 Muffins For Mom date with ds this morning and was going to make this my day off. Decided last night to get up at 5am to get in a good workout. Get dressed this morning, put in MCB + Abs, it plays for 5 seconds, then stops...this goes on for a few minutes, so I try another video. Same thing! Try another video. Same thing!:mad: Look inside VCR and there is this little spring-thingy sticking out that looks like it shouldn't be there! VCR still under warranty, take it to Best Buy this morning--I WON"T GET IT BACK 'TIL APRIL 3RD!!! :mad: :mad: :mad:

Sorry to vent, but man, I was mad. I swear I could've cried.:rolleyes: Guess I'll have to do weights from memory and maybe try to jog or run.

I'm sorry this post is such a downer, and believe me, I do realize that of all the problems in the world that I could have, this is about as minor as it gets! I'm just a little grumbly.

Congrats to everyone on all your hard work, and I'm sure I'll be checking in for my FIRM Fix! Keep On Truckin' FIRMies, and do some HOVER SQUATS for me!!!

I don't have time for individual comments right now but I did want to say WTG to sueg! You are my shero!!!! I'm so glad despite feeling under the weather you got that exercise in. You think this thread is inspiring (it is) but so are you!!! Have a great trip.

luvmydogs my condolences to your VCR. I identify as ours is broken and my mom gave me hers since she got her DVD. This am did maximum cardio blast with Allie, wow! My motivation was the dinner I am eating tonight and I want to fit into the skirt my husband loves. Sat and Sun are my days off as I try to get some extra sleep or bymyself time. Have a great weekend everybody and thanks for keeping me motivated.

I don't want to be a trouble-maker, but I think that Best Buy is treating you shabbily. I would, at least, try some upper management complaints to get some quicker remedies. What good is a warranty if you have to wait weeks for satisfaction. The price of VCRs has dropped so much, that they should give you an open box "loaner" to use, if they can't get your VCR fixed in a more timely fashion. When I bought our TV (probably 36 in.), the Wiz GAVE me a VCR. I would try Best Buy, but I would also contact the manufacturer. Even if it doesn't work, I wouldn't take the way they are treating you. A FIRMIE & her FIRM tapes should not be parted!
Still fighting head cold from h*ll, but kept the Firday tradition of WATP w/ DH. Tomorrow is my last day with my VCR. (Hey, luvmydogs, too bad you don't live close to me, you could have my VCR for the week we're away!) I'm going to try getting up at 5:30 and get a long tape in.
I'll probably stay in touch, thru DS's laptop, while at OKW. Hopefully, I'll have some exercise to post about.

Toystoryduo, I've never tried pilates. I have a yoga tape, but don't really enjoy it.

Zeraspride, I think BBS2 will be a wonderful reward for when you reach onederland!!! You are just amazing to me!! Your will power in remaining cheat free for 100 days is an inspiration!

MelanieC, I want to thank you for all of the Firm information you have provided on this board. When I did a search, your posts were incredibly helpful and motivational.

In all my years of on and off again exercising, I have never done anything that competes with the speed of result as The Firm. I can already envision the body I want to have some day! I did Complete Aerobics & Weight Training for the first time last night. I'm not sure I really like the bar, but the workout is great! Happy Firming everyone!!
 
Good Morning FIRMies!
Woke up this morning feeling rather yucky and sore. I decided to postpone my FIRM workout until tonite or tomorrow AM at the latest. It was kind of nice having the morning off because my daughter, Emily, got up early so we just snuggled up and watched House of Mouse together. :D

If I do get my workout in today, it will either be Cardio Sculpt Blaster and Ab Sculpt or Cardio Sculpt w/ Allie. Depends on how I am feeling. I did workout again with Widsor Pilates last night. I did the 20 minute workout and it was good! I will incorporate that into my FIRM rotation schedule.

Hi FIRMies!

I did BSS1 cardio sculpt this morning. Great work out as always. I want to increase the time I spent with it so I'm going to contemplate getting up even earlier than 5:40 but so far my body is protesting getting up earlier than that. I'm going to make it my goal to try at least 1 or 2 days next week of getting up about 15 minutes earlier to see if I can get more of the work out done. I'll keep you guys posted.

Tracy - you deserve a rest. If you need to take a break today, then listen to your body. I learned the hard way not too push the envelope to far or my body would revolt and shut down on me. I'm sure you won't do that but I thought I'd mention it to you anyway. Take care!

TigerBear - thanks for the encouraging comments! They truly mean a lot to me. I can't believe the 100 days went by so fast. I can't wait to reach onederland (whenever that is) and add BSS2 to my collection!
