As much as Travis's family and most people wanted her to receive the death penalty, I honestly think this is the better outcome. It sounds horrible. Just what she deserves. I don't think she'll be able to follow the rules. She's not going to be able to run the show and control people like she did during the trial.

Here are the minutes of yesterday's sentencing...obviously nothing new for anyone who watched it. But what I thought was odd is the statement by the judge about the credit for time served, if she got LWOP. Unless it's just a matter of making a record of it.

AS PUNISHMENT, IT IS ORDERED Defendant is sentenced to a term of imprisonment and is committed to the Arizona Department of Corrections as follows:

Count 1: Natural Life year(s) from 4/13/15
Presentence Incarceration Credit: 2,463 day(s)

The Defendant is not to be released for any reason for the remainder of her natural life.

It's probably for the record but I wonder if Jodi thought for just a few seconds that she might get a release option. :teeth:

I thought it was strange when JSS said credit for time served. Jodi was sure hoping to be able to be released at some point. I wish we could have seen her face when she was told natural life. Thank You UR, I am going to read that article.

All I kept thinking about last night was that dagger she threw at the fussy baby. OMG, it gave me chills.
I felt like she was pissed because she was in her final scene and was interrupted by a crying baby. She wanted everyone's undivided attention and the baby was stealing her show. Psycho witch

I think, and the commentators were saying, that she probably had to know that she would get LWOP, and that may be why she let loose on Samantha, because that would be her last opportunity (for the moment). On the other hand, I'm not so sure that she really cares what she says, and she always thinks of herself as the victim and sees it all her way. Still, I'm sure she was hoping she'd get the possibility of parole, but either way, she's going to do whatever she can to fight it.

Could you imagine if the verdict is overturned and they retry her? There was a case in MA where the defendant was retried several times, guilty every time. And remember the lawyer (don't remember exactly what role she played) in the Casey Anthony case who left her family for a guy on death row, and won him more than one overturned verdict? It happens. Even that woman who had been on death row (something like "Debra Milke"??) got her conviction overturned. The JA verdict may seem like a no brainer to us, but you just never know. If so...meet you all back here. Yikes.

I showed that clip to my husband and he burst out laughing at how ballsy she is. But it gave me chills too. That's a story for that kid's baby book! The only thing I heard about who the baby could be is a family member or a supporter of the Alexander family.

You were missed along with Mrs. Thumper. I am sure there will be more interesting trials coming to watch together.

We both missed being here. Being we work for an elected official, we have a new person elected this year. The previous person already served 2 terms and unfortunately couldn't run again. So Mrs. T and I have been going through a lot of changes here at work. Thankfully we still have jobs. With all these changes, we haven't been able to frequent on here as much as we used to.

You know what I thought was weird about Sandy Arias's interview? She wasn't devastated by her daughter getting LWOP....no crying and seemed very matter-of-fact about it all. She must've been prepared, as Jodi was, that that would be the outcome. Also she said that she was going to focus on her grandchildren and being a grandmother. I think on some level she's relieved Jodi was convicted and isn't getting out. Could you imagine her showing up on your doorstep, with everything they've gone through with her? They know exactly who and what she is.

Troy Hayden from Fox 10 is doing an interview with Juan Martinez which should be available tonight.

Also, the new mugshot of inmate number 281129. Gotta say...nice eyebrows. Are they going to allow her to have tweezers in her cell? ;)

I can't wait for the interview to come out. And I agree Mare she knew LWOP was coming for Jodi. It really would not surprise if the family does not visit her. I think they are relieved. Jodi was probably more of a problem child then any of us can imagine.

That trial with Drew Peterson may be good

Who in here is watching the Mcenroe trial? This is a good one

I am grateful you are still working! And it is nice when you both can stop by and say hello at least. :)

I agree!! She will be in solitary with no audience for years! That will hurt much more than killing her....
