Just read that Stephens has up to 45 days to issue her sentence if the jury is hung or decides life. Let's hope she doesn't take that long.

Welcome back! And OMG...two?! My baby just turned 22. It goes by SO fast. I bet she's a sweety!Busy, busy! Starting to plan DD's second birthday. Where did the time go?
Hey Snuz - just popped in today. I've been ready for this verdict since late last week. C'mon jury!![]()
Thanks for the info. I wonder if she CAN impose the sentence immediately. If she can, I think it would be the right thing to do.Just read that Stephens has up to 45 days to issue her sentence if the jury is hung or decides life. Let's hope she doesn't take that long.
That would be good, but I think we all know Sherry Stephens to well. Looney bin is right….lolWelcome back! And OMG...two?! My baby just turned 22. It goes by SO fast. I bet she's a sweety!

Yeah, she'd probably get all flustered at having to make a decision on the spot. smhThat would be good, but I think we all know Sherry Stephens to well. Looney bin is right….lol

Legally she would have 45 days. Just a legal limit put on the decision-making so that it doesn't drag on forever but that there's time if necessary to research precedent, I'm guessing.45 days? how does she make decisions in other cases?
I just don't trust that woman.Legally she would have 45 days. Just a legal limit put on the decision-making so that it doesn't drag on forever but that there's time if necessary to research precedent, I'm guessing.
Agreed! If ever there was a case that needed a strong capable decision-making judge (Judge Belvin Perry!) it was this one. The more the defense realized the control they could take the more they took it. Disgusting. I've seen a couple of really bad women judges… Judge Stevens and the judge in the Adam Kaufman trial…and it's really disheartening. If it ends up being a hung jury, I really hope that the judge is ready to impose a sentence immediately. She owes the Alexander family that for allowing this to be so long and drawn out. This is just the wackiest court case I've ever seen.
Don't know if it is true, but reports say Jodi's original verdict may get overturned.
