The Final Countdown

We will be leaving for The Fort in 10 days!!!!! We were just going to be there for 7 days but an opportunity arose for my husband and now we will be there from May 26th - June 7th. That is a total of 13 DAYS!!!!! We are so excited we can't hardly stand it. We have never stayed for that long before. Another first is we bought a new to us golf cart over the winter.

What I am wondering is this.....last time we were there was Thanksgiving 2011 And i don't think they had resort specific things at the time. I am in the need of a new Fort hoodie....has anyone seen any of those in the stores?

Another thing is how do people decorate their golf cart when it is not the holidays? I have not one idea were to start. Any ideas or pics would be great.

They do have Fort specific merchandise at the Trading Posts - I told this board it was coming in April 2011 for the end of that year. You must have just missed it. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2697069. This message got copied all over the Interwebz.

Thing is, it is rather subject to what's in stock and what's not. Obviously the Meadow TP has the biggest selection. My advice is if you see it, get it. Don't tell yourself, "oh I'll come back and get it later". It could be gone.

And check every day if you can. Stuff arrives and get set out daily. It's expensive, yes. Bite the bullet and do it.

I don't recall a hoodie per se. But cool! Schedule a couple down days at the Fort to swim, nap, watch the fireworks, etc.

Thanks Bama Ed. Yes we are super excited about the extra time. We have a countdown chain that we have had for about 30 days now. It gets a little more exciting everyday when my ladies take a link off. I remember your thread about Fort merchandise. The hoodie I already have is still in great shape. I would post a pic but I can't figure out how to post it. Maybe I can figure it out and post later.

13 days is great. It's nice to be able to alternate Park days and Fort days.

It will be great to have the extra days at the Fort. We are usually there for 7 days and hardly ever spend time roaming around. This year we will have a golf cart so that will make it super easy.

Woo hoo we will be there too! Coming in with our Jayco TT on May 27, leaving on June 1! It will be our first camping trip and I am soooo trying to get things together, sooo afraid we are going to omit something really important

Don't fret about forgetting anything. Personally I make a list of things, but most of our things are already in the "station wagon". My philosophy is if I do forget something and it is important that I have it then I will just go buy whatever it is.

Have a great trip. We are down to 8 days before blast off!!!!!

7 days and counting for us!!!! It will be a hectic 7 days too...so looking forward to some Disney Down Time. Its final exams for my daughter...practice for Commencement...packing and more packing. Work...did I forget I have to work some during these next few days?? I am a Labor & Delivery nurse...12 hour night shifts. Then on Friday, May 24th my baby girl gets handed her Diploma at 7:00 pm. We will be on the road at 9:00 pm headed for Florida!!!!

I am definitely growing closer to panic mode, my last full weekend before we leave! I have been picking up things here and there for the last month but it is getting close to crunch time! I plan to clean the TT aka "BIG LUCY", make sure dishes and linens are clean, make a final checklist of things to bring and things I STILL need to buy!!! We leave ONE WEEK FROM TOMORROW, we will use next Saturday to pack then on Sunday hit the road after breakfast! We will stay at Jennings Campground at the FL border Sunday night then arrive at the Fort on Monday by checkin time! PUPBUG congrats on your daughter's graduation, I have a daughter who will be graduating this time NEXT YEAR , we will be going on the Dream for a 4 day for her graduation trip!

we will be there june 15-22nd. Just bought tickets thru mouse savers. before the annual price jacking in June.. sigh..

it's been a LONG time since we camped at the fort ... but we stayed on property last year

the TT is ready to go,just need to put in the clothes that have been packed and re packed.. With the crazy weather we have had here and yes the tornado that was near by, it makes our waiting time for the fort seem longer. The drive down is the longest and thanks to Bama Ed I have some great spots to stop on the way down.. IF DH decides not to pull an all niter and drive and drive.. those monster drinks can be well along with gallons of sweet tea

we are in a preferred spot and have not requested a loop yet, guess I need to take a look see at the maps and email our "wish" spots and no we do not have pets.

will have the computers along so will try and post pictures
dd is working on some signage for our camper ...
