What do those days look like for you?

I'm trying to be organized so I can be relaxed but so far it's not looking good! One thing I do want to do is have some freezer meals ready so I don't have to think about what to cook and clean up from it.

I will be packing our trailer for the few evenings before we leave. I have a list that I always use, and I have created another list of things needed specifically for Disney.

Yep, meals will be quick and easy.

We go to the airport on Friday after school. (first March Break out of Pearson, I'm dreading it!!:crowded:)
My packing list is done and everyone has piled their stuff on the spare bed. I still have to do one last load of laundry and then pack the cases. Unfortunately I have a school event on the Thursday evening so I guess I'm packing on Wednesday night.

Be as packed as you can be, as soon as you can be, because something will happen. For us, in the last few days:

I have had to work overtime every day
DD's lock broke at school, needed new lock
Yearbook deadline was announced and it's the first day after March Break, so all materials have to be submitted before we leave
DH's shorts needed to be replaced
Bills to be paid
An extra load of laundry for that "gotta have it with me" item
The battery on one car died because someone left the lights on
And who knows what else will happen!

At least we know that our gear is packed and ready to go!

I used to hate the week before a big trip- trying to remember all the little things that I wanted/needed to get done. And I hated even more when we were a couple of hours down the road trying to remember if I'd unplugged the coffee pot or if I'd called to suspend the newspaper delivery.

So I made a to do list for each day for the week before departure. And attached it to my computer file with the packing lists. Now I just have to tick off each task/item as they're completed and have a bit more peace of mind once we've left.

Usually a lot of bickering between dh and I cause I'm stressed trying to get everything together, and he's thinking why am I so crabby - what's there to pack??? :lmao:

Oh yes, lists. I've started those. I bought a new little notebook to keep it all in.

I use extensive lists, and simple planned meals to make the week before the trip as stress-free as possible.

My reward for having everything packed (and I mean packed in the car - we drive from TO) and ready to go? A pedicure and manicure on the Thursday night before we leave on Friday at lunch. There is nothing more relaxing then having someone rub my feet, and my nails look great for Disney! :goodvibes
