The Fabby LapuLapuettes Part IV: My Pineapple Needs a Refill!

Good! Are you loving your new apartment? :goodvibes

I am! It's really quite nice. I love everything about it. Though yesterday Ruby was driving me crazy! It was really windy and everytime a leave blew past the windows I thought she was going to jump out. Nevermind the birds that fly up on our balcony. I know I will come home one day and the screen will be busted and Ruby will be in the tree. :rotfl2:

Ha! Mischevious kitteh!

We have a lot of little birds that hang out near our balcony as well, our next door neighbors have a little feeder. It's cute, minus the bird poop. :lmao:

I can see her getting excited about birds...but freaking leaves?

I have a hummingbird feeder and I just love watching the little hummingbirds come up to it. The cats don't notice them but I think that's because the feeder is way above their eye level.

Thank you!

Mine was hectic, but very nice. First half of the day with my family, second half with DH's. It was really a good time, I got to see one of my nieces and she is so stinkin' cute. DS had a great time with her as well. He was too sweet. :goodvibes

So glad to hear that!! :goodvibes

I ended up taking my mom to see Hair on Broadway to distract her from the fact that my brother hadn't arranged any plans with her for mother's day. :headache: I know that my SIL wants to do nothing on mother's day, but my mom would be happy if my brother just arranged something with her before hand. You know, if he told her he'd take her out for coffee or dinner a few days before, or tell her he'll take her out a few days after. Just acknowledge it for pete's sake. But nope he doesn't and she gets cranky and irritated. (Especially since for Father's day they throw a big picnic). A day in NYC really seemed to do the trick though this year. It was a wonderful day.

Aww, that's too bad for your Mother! My brother hit an all time low this year. He gave her a card and flowers and said in the card, "I hope seeing our new puppy is enough of a gift for you since we are broke." :scared1: If I had known that is what the card said when he was there, I would have smacked him. My mom didn't tell me until after he left!

Why are guys so thick? I swear it takes so little. My mom would be happy with a card and a pretty plant, or a gift certificate to get her nails done. It's the thought that counts. I am glad though that my brother is not the only one though. :sad2:

I was really upset at him and his wife. As much as I don't get along with my MIL, I made sure that she had a nice Mother's Day present! Then my Mom admitted that he did the same thing for her Birthday. She does so much for my brother and I can't believe he wouldn't at least get her something small. There have been years when I didn't have a lot of money but I'd go up there and cook her dinner or something. She loves that kind of thing! It just makes me even more happy that she is joining me in Disney. I am going to pamper her!

Ooo, I bet the hummingbirds are so pretty. When I talk my morning walk, I see all different types of birds, but not hummingbirds. Do you have a special type of food to attract them?

So glad to hear that!! :goodvibes

Aw. I'm glad your mom had a good day with you. I agree, at least acknowledge it. We had a little scuffle this year, which is why we ended up splitting between my and my husband's family. His mother had Sunday off, and we really see her. My mother wasn't thrilled about the situation but it was either we can all get together for a late breakfast or we can do nothing. Eventually my mom chose the late breakfast. At least I tried though, you know?

UGH!!! What was your brother thinking?

Right on. I am so on the same page with you here. My gifts to all the moms in my life weren't very expensive at all, but it's the thought you put into it and the time you spend with people that counts. :goodvibes

I don't know what he was thinking but it upsets me. Especially since I told him to get her a Disney giftcard or Disney Dollars. If he had told me he didn't have the money then I would have given him a gift card for her. He could have just paid me back. Grrr. Brothers...pffft!

I just bought a little packet at Walmart for 97 cents that you add water too. I used half of it to fill up the feeder. My mom also told me that as long as your feeder has some red on them, and most of the hummingbird feeders do, you can just boil water and sugar and put that in the feeder. She thinks if you do that the liquid lasts longer and attracts them longer. Does that make sense?

Neat! I think this could be something interesting for me to try with DS.

It's really neat, they are amazing little things. I am sure he would love watching them. It didn't take too long for them to find my feeder either. I put it up last Saturday and by Sunday I had seen my first one. :thumbsup2

Congrats Tink---keeping my fingers crossed tightly for you!!!

Oh, Tink! How wonderful if BF went with you to Disney! :goodvibes

Congrats Tink!

That's great that BF is up for a trip to Disney. I'm hoping that it all works out for you. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Yay for a trip to the World. I am already looking forward to your ptr.

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

A Tink and her BF trip to look forward to?

Have the planets aligned?

Do I need to go play the lotto? ;)

Seriously, I'm very happy for you, and I hope it pans out. But if not, no worries. I'm confident the two of you are going to get there in the near future. :thumbsup2

Ahhh ladies. The planets may be aligning. I'm bumping up the odds to 75/25 in favor. Last night when I got home I was a little cranky. I have no idea why. There was really nothing on TV (there are only so many Dog Whisperer repeats one can watch) and so we checked the DVR. We have a bunch Food Network Challenges on there and I wasn't in the mood for those either. One of them was "Disney Celebration Cakes". He said, "Well I want to watch this one. I know it'll put you in a good mood."

LOL

Well, it didn't (long story) but during the show (which was about cakes being done for families celebrating different occasions at Disneyland in accordance with the 'What Are You Celebrating?' theme) he said, "If we go and they ask you what you're celebrating you can say 'FINALLY getting him here'."

THAT made me laugh.

And a mite hopeful.

It's been a crazy week for me. And will likely be crazy over the next couple but it's all good! Hoping to keep popping my head in here every now and again to keep you all updated on "August Disney Watch 2009". :rotfl:

I just put a seed feeder in my little yard. Yet to see birdies. I talk to them on my morning walk and invite them over for breakfast! LOL

OH!

And BF totally referred to himself as BF this weekend.

I said, "You just called yourself BF."

He said, "Yeah, I know."

:lmao:

That's just too sweet! I think there is hope for him yet to come to at least appreciate Disney.

Tink---I think all our positive thinking and hopeful wishes for you is starting to influence your BF---I am feeling a very good vibe for August for you!!!!

I always knew I enjoyed his sense of humor. :rotfl2:

I hope you do get to say those words. :thumbsup2

What Will You Celebrate? "Our First Trip Together"

Now that in and of itself is pretty darn exciting. :thumbsup2

Lapuettes, I'm here with a warning.

A VERY SERIOUS WARNING.

Please. Sit down. Hold your young ones and furry ones close.

The world and possibly the World is about to end.

BF, and I quote:

"Well, if we win Powerball tonight we'll take everyone on a Disney cruise."

:faint:

I need a cool, moist towel.

DUDE.

Who are you and what have you done with my BF?

I'm raising August Disney odds to 80/20. Stay tuned.

(Oh, and we obviously didn't win Powerball. That's ok. As far as BF is concerned that just means we'll win more on Saturday. )
