The Fabby LapuLapuettes Part IV: My Pineapple Needs a Refill!

I was just thinking this morning that I am ready to see your dates and your PTR!! No worries though, I'm excited to see where and when you decide to book!

By the time this thing gets off the ground, I will have SO much to write about, it will be a FAST moving PTR. We are confuzzled too about exactly where we want to stay......I don't want to give everything away because I already have the first posting ready to roll all about it, but I will let you guys in on a little scoop........

A couple weeks ago when we were all set to book (gosh I can't believe a couple weeks has already passed since then) DH surprised me one night when we were discussing where we should stay by declaring that he wanted to stay at a certain resort for a very specific reason. I was shocked---not that I didn't like his selection, because I did---just that he had such a well-formed opinion on the matter. He usually doesn't care too much about anything! So my engines started running in that direction---and then we hit one road bump after another with trying to get that ressie booked. When we hit the inevitable brick wall, we stopped heading in any direction because all of that was happening at the same time we found out about Tom's coworker leaving. We have not picked up the pace again in our planning because he is trying to figure out exactly what his new roles and responsibilities are going to be now that he also has to assume her leadership duties. I know we will be able to take a vaca in September, we are just trying to see when exactly the best week will be to go......I have been just a little frustrated because I feel like everything has been sitting on hold for TOO LONG!!!!! All this "drama" now will hopefully make for problem-free planning once we get going, right?!?!?!?! :goodvibes

Be careful....don't want you to hurt yourself again :lmao:

No kidding! :rotfl: I've become the most paranoid person on the treadmills. The most I will do is walk at a steady pace, and I like to have my hand at least lightly resting on one of the bars at all times.

I can't wait to hear all about your plans!

I can't wait to tell you all about them---I think it might be our best trip EVER!

I hope everyone had a Happy Easter! My morning was great with DS looking for the eggs, and opening his basket. So much fun. And do you know that the Easter Bunny left huge foot prints outside our door? :goodvibes The rest of the day went downhill with the family and made me seriously question why I'm taking a vacation with Mom and Nana when they stress me out so much, but hey...one day at a time. :::sigh:::

Sorry to hear that. I stress myself out....I don't need to go on vacation with people that stress me out the rest of the year.

This September trip is probably going to be hard for you....between remembering how awesome your pirates's life for 3 trip was and how not so awesome December was.

That's where my worry stems from. I won't get into it in depth here, but I basically layed down the law today. This is how it's going to be, or we're not going. I realize this makes me sound selfish, but this is a fairly large issue that I'm not willing to compromise on, and if we can't reach an agreement, it's not happening.

In all honesty, I'm looking at this as the last big family trip. I think future trips will be just me, DH, an DS.

Glad that the Easter bunny made an appearance, and sorry that the rest of your day was stressful.

I had a fun afternoon yesterday with the nieces. We braved the cold to go outside for their egg hunt, although I was told by the 5 year old that I was "too old" to hunt for any eggs myself. (It seems that 20 years old is the cut off. :rotfl:) I had to tease her so I snatched up one egg and pocket it. She found it on me later and stole it from me. It was alot of fun.

We had some good news, as my brother and SIL just bought a vacation condo in New Hampshire. They are closing on it this week, so I think we are going to be having a mini family vacation this summer at some point. My older niece can't wait until the whole family gets to go to Storyland and Santa's Village together. My brother offered use of the place to me too when they aren't using it, which should be really neat. I may have to plan a little trip up for the fall sometime to see the foilage. I want to say the place is in Houdini or something like that. I could be wrong though, I wasn't paying attention. Kind of nice to have relatives that have money to do these things. I wouldn't know myself, but it must be great for them. :lmao:

You do realize that you will be very close to me where-ever this condo is in NH. I don't believe we have any towns named Houdini! Do you know if the condo is in the white mountains or near one of our major lakes?

I have reviews of both Storyland and Santa's Village in my PTR....with tons of pictures.

We are so going to have to meet!

I highly doubt what-ever you told them is selfish....email me if you what to discuss further.

That would be so much fun. I'd love to get to meet you! I haven't been up that way since I was a kid, but when I was little the area around Storyland was our yearly vacation spot. I spent many a summer at Storyland, Santa's Village and watching the bears at Clark's Trading Post. There was another place too, but the name of it isn't coming to me at the moment. I think he said that condo is within 30 minutes of Storyland. Or maybe it was 30 minutes from the Flume. Either way, it's right near all that stuff.

TK, stating your concerns and requirements for a family trip is not selfish! We vacationed for years with Charles' family and it was always stressful -- we do so much better when it's just the four of us!

Crissy, New Hampshire sounds like a lovely place to go on mini-vacations!

Heidi, I had to laugh over your comment about stressing yourself out -- I do the same thing.

In either case you will drive right by my house on the highway.

My older niece can't wait. She was telling me all about it yesterday. She told me she was going to assign me my sleeping spot. :)

:thumbsup2 I'll have to check with my brother when they get back and find out exactly where it is.

Oh that is so funny! Um, my mom did the egg hunt for me all the way through college, and even before I had my son.

So, if you're feeling like you want to tease your niece a little you can tell her one of your girlfriends did egg hunts WELL into her twenties. :lmao:

That's so awesome!

I just discovered yesterday that my FIL has a timeshare he's willing to let us use for family trips, and it's possible that we could even get a week down in Florida with it! :thumbsup2

I highly doubt what-ever you told them is selfish....email me if you what to discuss further.

Well, it has totally played out now, but I think I'll be e-mailing you anyway. It raised some other stuff for me that makes me question everything, and that's so typical of me, but I just wouldn't be me if I didn't. :lmao:

It was just so relaxing to have the three of us. I'm definitely going to miss it.

Hi Lapuettes! Long time, no chat! How is everyone doing? :goodvibes

Marc & I are settled into our new apartment and we are loving it! It's such an upgrade from our last one and I am loving the 9 mile commute to work, 18 miles round trip. I used to do 59 miles round trip!

I'll have to tell them both that. The other niece told me the cut off age was 15. :) I got them to share a bit of the candy later, but they kept all the money in the eggs for themselves.

I'm terribly jealous of your commute! I wish they'd move NYC closer to my house. I dream of getting home by 6pm!

I'm so happy for you! That's an awesome commute!

We're doing great, other than the housing search. It's frustrating. :lmao:

In my family, the Easter bunny always hid the eggs that we colored. So the only candy was in the baskets he brought. I think that's why it was easy for traditions to continue well into my "older age." :lmao:

That's a pretty neat way of doing it. Ours were always the plastic ones filled with loose change, jelly beans, and chocolate eggs and they were hid by my grandfather. It was his favorite holiday, and he adored the easter egg hunt. When I was a kid there was one special silver egg that had a dollar in it. It was a very cut throat search with my brother and cousins to find the silver egg, well to find all the eggs actually. The nieces now have it easy they are told how many eggs they are allowed to find so that they both get the same amount - and they both get a special $1 egg. Where's the challenge?

I think when I was really little the Easter bunny would hide my entire basket, but he gave up on that fairly early on and just left it on the dining room table. :rotfl:
