The Fabby LapuLapuettes Part IV: My Pineapple Needs a Refill!

Hi ladies! Freezing here too! Delayed school opening for my youngest DD but not my teens - who go to school earlier... whatever.

regarding the Sookie books, I basically gave up on Bill awhile ago too, I tried really hard not to, although I like him on the show and wouldn't mind at all if it goes in a different direction than the books - which it already seems in lots of ways like it will.

I picked up all of my medical reports from my doctors office this morning, to take to my other doctor, of course I read them, and in so doing actually discovered the name of the thing that's wrong with my brain... "toxic-metabolic encephalopathy" which when I googled it just sounds like a synonym for "crazy" to me...:rotfl:

My college starts classes Tuesday and I can't wait! I really miss all the student workers in my offfice. It really breaks up the monotony of the day and cuts the tension with the goofy boss...:cheer2:

Happy Friday everyone...stay warm!

:rotfl: Fraulein! That is way too funny. Everyone at work is having a hard time getting their dogs to go out too. They don't like the cold!

Poor thing is going to think her name is Fraulein because we have started calling her that a lot -- with a bad fake German accent.

Our other two don't waste any time out there, but they at least do what they need to do.

I have just finished the last Sookie book. I love Quinn. I hope he sitcks around . I can't wait until May when the new one come out.

We live in Omaha, not very far from Fremont. I am from Maine originally and have lived here for almost 10 years.

Quinn is my favorite, but I like Eric, too.

I remember going to Omaha with my grandmother to go to the mall when we would visit.

I like Quinn too.

I am not a fan of Bill....at all. Though he's pretty cute looking in the show. ::yes::

I don't like Bill either. I need to get HBO so I can watch the show.

Nope, not a Bill fan at all -- I think that's why I was not crazy about the first two books.

Surely not! :goodvibes So, what do they do for toxic metabolic encephalopathy?

Good afternoon Lapuettes! Hope everyone is keeping warm. All I wanted to do is stay home warm and toasty in my bed this morning. My car was telling me it was 6 degrees this morning. Just sooooo wrong. I'm curious to what the temp was with the wind chill. My mom called me from Florida yesterday. My relatives down there were all put out that it was 64 degrees. I'm feeling no pity! It's going to be a rude awakening for my folks coming home tomorrow.

A funny story, my fellow Disney fans will appreciate. My mom called my brother during the week, and got to talk to my youngest niece for awhile. My mom told her she was in Florida, and immediately she wanted to know what rides she had gone on. :lmao: When I talked to her later, she was baffled that you would go to Florida and not go to Disney. You could tell she just thought it was wrong.

Well it is sorta wrong.......

Little Liam speech update.....

We had the intake interview with the organization that can do his speech therapy if he qualifies. It's one of those non-profit organizations that are funded thru state and federal money. (think Easter Seals) It was basically to get background information on us and Liam. In a few weeks, two specialists will come to the house to evaluted him (same as before with the private therapist). By the end of that visit, they will tell us if he qualifies to get help with them and how often. I'm not worried about him qualifying....he is 20 months and the only word he can say is "Hi". I'm just hoping that he can have weekly therapy here at the house.

We are also thinking of taking him to a weekly (10 weeks) toddler gymnastics class....it's called Tumbly Bugs....isn't that cute? What isn't cute is the cost. Almost $20 a week. But we don't have a lot of choices where we live. It's for 1 1/2 to 3 year olds, and where he is so physical we thought it would be a good fit for him to get together with other kids.

Hey everybody! :wave2: I've been MIA, just too much going on. But I have to share something that just happened...

I was looking for my brand-spanking new The Complete Walt Disney World 2009 and couldn't find it anywhere. I went so far as to wake up DD9 because she pretty much declared ownership of my 2008 edition, but of course, as she was in a VERY deep sleep, she wasn't much help. I kept looking, said some choice words, and proceeded to give up.

So I was taking out my contacts in our bathroom just now and lo and behold, there sits my book. pixiedust: But wait! Who was just using that bathroom before he went to bed??? Who is finally starting to get excited about the trip????

DH! :cheer2: But I bet he still won't admit it.

I got another PIN code today! This was an email for kids 3-9 to stay eat and play for free from 3/1-4-16 for a 5 night stay at a Value resort... There is no way I could go during those dates though... it's right in the middle of my teen girls cheerleading season. Unless I left them at home
:scratchin

Surely not! :goodvibes So, what do they do for toxic metabolic encephalopathy?

Basically, they are saying it is a condition that has developed due to a severe childhood head trauma (bike injury before helmets) coupled with a recent mionor head injury, minor car accident - air bag released and hit me in the face around Halloween breaking my glasses, bruising my face, etc... caused it all so now treatment is just medication to control seizures forever.

Good news is I have been responding well to medication... no seizures etc and don't think my doctor is going to report me to the department of motor vehicles so hopefully I will still be allowed to drive... I think by law she would have had to already if she thought I was a danger.

So now my kids are always mad at me when i make them wear their bicycle helmets because they aren't cool... actually they just refuse and walk :rotfl:

Morning, all!

Just a quick hello before I head off to work on this fine freezin' Saturday. :goodvibes

Heidi, so glad to hear that things are progressing in the right direction for getting Liam some help. I know that must take a weight off your shoulders.

Becky, glad to hear you're responding to the medication well. Thank goodness!

Everyone, I hope you have a great weekend, I do plan to multi-quote sometime in the future, just not sure when. :lmao:

I'm so excited actually, DH and I have a date tonight! Yes, that's right, a date with my very own Jack Sparrow. :::sigh::: I'm so excited, you would think we'd just met! :rotfl2: To top it all off, DS is sleeping over my parents.

I know that sounds really exciting, but actually there's a whole bunch of stuff that needs to be done around the house. We actually have a big empty rubbermaid and my goal, while DS is gone, is to fill it with all the toys he's too old for. Honestly, we've got baby toys still in his walk in closet, and there's just no need. I want to do this while he's gone because I think if he saw us cleaning out his room it would be a little unnerving.

Better for him to have a nice big surprise of all these cool toys (from Christmas and whatnot) in his room when he gets home. I can't wait!

I would be happy with 64 degrees right now!

I agree with your neice that if a person is in Florida, they should be going to Disney. :lmao:

Oh, I hope you get weekly therapy! Connor's speech teachers were just amazing and it was mind-boggling to me how quickly they got him talking.

Gymnastics will be a great outlet for Liam's energy and a chance for him to hang out with other kids -- the price is a bit steep though -- like you said though, there aren't a lot of choices.

Connor is the same way about his room -- that is next month's project for me. I am taking a page out of LL's life and instead of big new year's resolutions, I am doing monthly ones. This month is organizing my closet and working on scrapbooks (which will be ongoing). I am going to tackle my closet this weekend since I have three days off.

So besides organizing DS's room, what else do you have planned for date night?

Trixie you only have 3 days left!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

:wave2: Hi Girlies, just checking in and giving you all a wee wave. End of the week has been a bit mental so have been MIA but caught up now:thumbsup2 . Have a good weekend all and stay cozy:grouphug:

Oh my goodness I just noticed in your ticker that it's your FIRST trip to Disney!!!!

How special is that!?!...pixiedust: I'll bet you are super excited!

.

Dates are always exciting. Have a great evening and have fun going through HRHs toys. I had to take the tree down when Lexi was sleeping this year because she started to cry when ever I would do it when she was awake.

Me, too!

So we actually braved it and did the cleaning in front of him before we brought him to my parents! :scared: Actually, it went very well. Now my next project is to have DH start bringing my rubbermaids from our storage unit (truthfully I have no idea what's in them other than maternity clothes) and I'm going to start weeding through those. Because even though I got quite a fair share of baby toys put into that rubbermaid, can you believe I didn't get all of it? Never mind all the old clothes that are taking up his closet. Gosh, it's such a disaster! :upsidedow

But I shouldn't stress, we did a really good job yesterday, and now today I just have to organize little things. You know, all the action figures, miscellaneous parts that somehow get separated from the main toy, et, etc.

I'm quite pleased though, now that his room is cleaner and our tree is taken down, we could put his toys / things back into our little niche in the living room and it just makes his room look so much nicer and less cluttered. :thumbsup2

So besides organizing DS's room, what else do you have planned for date night?

Actually, we had a wonderful time. We went to dinner at Chili's. DH had some gift cards from my parents for his birthday, so we used those. And still have some leftover....I hear another date night calling. :rolleyes1

So now, I'm enjoying a very quiet...very peaceful...very relaxing morning ;) and I got to sleep as late as I wanted. That was nice. So I have a really restful environment over here to write my updates in. :goodvibes

Hey, girl! Happy to hear from you! :goodvibes

I can't believe it! :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

It's finally real. :cloud9:

Wow, I am so excited for you and your family. :thumbsup2

That's too funny, someone else just told me this, but I can't remember who it was. I know, they get so attached to the decorations.

Funny story about that, last night DH and I are sitting on the couch watching TV, and DH looks up. On the top of our entertainment unit are two little stuffed snowmen he totally forgot to take down. :lmao: We had a good laugh over it, I'll just have to find a place to put them in the house.

Been a long time since I've done one of these, I thought it was due. :goodvibes

Wow! I am really impressed by all your productivity. I did get my closet completely cleaned and organized yesterday. I keep going into it just to marvel at the neatness! :lmao:

Dinner sounds wonderful -- Chili's is one of the few restaurants here in our small town.

Aren't quiet mornings just the best? For some reason my entire family is awake and being loud this morning -- so much for my quiet morning.

I did a huge overhaul on my closet a few weeks ago, but it still needs some tweaking. I was thinking about finishing it later today. :thumbsup2

It was really good. And we got the Triple Dipper appetizer, which is nice now because you can choose which three things you want. Southwestern Egg Rolls, Spinach and Artichoke Dip, and the Sweet Chile Boneless Wings. NOM. :goodvibes

They really are and I have so few of them. Not that I don't love my little peanut, of course, but wow, this is nice. :lmao:

Mmmmm. My favorite thing at Chili's are the chicken tacos and the nachos.

I know what you mean -- sometimes it's nice to be the only one awake first thing in the morning.
