Wednesday 20th Feb

This may be a long one – sorry if it bores.
I was woken by Husband saying “Is everyone awake or are we having a lie-in this morning?” I peered at the clock and told him that it was only 4.55am and promptly went back to sleep.

This was us after breakfast.

It was a rainy morning but it didn’t appear to have put anybody off, as there were still loads of people queuing for EMH. We had decided to go straight for Buzz today and were the first riders of the day it seemed. We went round twice and then Husband and Dtr went on Space Mountain twice. We then went over to Fantasyland only to discover that Peter Pan and Dumbo were not running so the queues for Pinocchio and the Carousel were very long. We decided to go instead to Salon Mickey and have a hot drink and cake instead. This still feels luxurious to us. :cool2:
We went over to the Studios then. I think the Studios must work on their opening – they just don’t seem to have their act together at all. They opened Studio 1 doors to let people through just before 9.50. The majority of the crowds went to Crush and the queuing area is just not long enough to hold them all, so a massive group of people queued just outside the roped area, creating a huge bottleneck. They need to rope off a longer queue first thing in the morning.
The next problem occurred at 10 o’clock. There was the fanfare and announcement that the Studios were now open – but none of the rides were ready. It was 10.15 before Crush, Flying Carpets or TOT started and by this time the queues had built up even more. At 10.20 the queues for Crush were still all the way back to the scream monitors. I don’t know what the solution is, but I hope they are working on it. Crush has been open for 8 months now. The crowds and waiting times keep growing and they need to think again about they handle it. :sad2:
Anyway it was nearly 11 when Husband and Dtr got off Crush and then they went on RnR Coaster. I queued with them as I like watching the ride take off. We were just in time for Cinemagique. This show doesn’t lose its appeal with repeated viewings and I love to hear the comments from people who haven’s seen it before. Now it was time for the intrepid 2 to use the FPs for TOT that I had got them earlier. Despite the fact that nobody grabbed his leg today Husband declared it was exhilarating and…… well you know the rest by now.
We left the Park, bought a couple of things in the Village and went back to the Hotel to have an hours rest. It’s the payback for being in the Park at 8 o’clock each morning – by early afternoon my feet ache and have swollen up so I need an hours rest. This is the time when the Park seems to be busiest so it seems a good time to duck out.

Back at the Park we went on POTC before heading to Walt’s for an early dinner. We asked if we could have a window table – we could, so it meant we had a great view of the Parade. I will write a review of the meal on the restaurant thread, but would recommend watching the Parade from Walts – in the warm, eating lovely food and able to see every little detail.

After eating we went on Casey Jr, where the CM (Jochen) was a star in his own right. Lovely chap. Next we went on Le Pay de Conte Des Fees where we were put in a boat with a very surly family. They didn’t want to share and we didn’t mind waiting for the next boat (it wasn’t very busy) but the CM insisted we got in with them. The atmosphere was chilly to say the least. :cold: We got onto the train at Fantasyland Station and went for a complete circuit of the Park – it was great to see the back of POTC. We wondered if there was time for rides on IJones and BTM – meaning that Husband and Dtr would have been on all the thrill rides in the 2 Parks in one day. They dashed off to try it while I went for one more ride on POTC and a little browsing in the Curious Giraffe. They did manage both rides and we met up to watch Candleabration and then dash down the Arcade to beat the crowd.

We did the same as last night - went back to the hotel for a cuppa while the crowds died down and then went back to the Village. Husband watched footy while Dtr and I finished off our shopping. This time she bought a plush green alien from Toy Story, which she called “Oooooooh” as that is what they say in the film. It was getting misty as we made our way back to the hotel – good job I bought a flashing Mickey keyring to light my way. :thumbsup2
No foreign language film to watch tonight – Husband saw the second half of the Lyon V Man Utd match instead..

Tomorrow: - packing cases and farewells to the Magic…. .our last day.

what a great view of the parade from above!
look forward to your last installment!

LOL@your hubby :lmao:
Suppose he didn't dare to say anything anymore after that spot in the morning LOL

Shame the family on the boat had no Disney magic :confused3

Have to agree the view and photos of the parade are excellent :goodvibes

Another lovely day :goodvibes we really must try Walt's one day, looking forward to reading your writeup on it. Lovely photos from the restaurant though, did you ask for a window seat or were you just lucky ?

What time did you get to Walts to grab the fab table - and was it inside or out (looks like your photos are taken from a balcony ?)

The review is on the Walt's thread. Husband popped into Walt's in the morning and asked for a window table. They noted it, but couldn't guarantee it.

Our booking was for 3.30 - because that was the latest they were taking bookings. There is a balcony right outside the window, but I was inside with my camera pressed to the window!

Great pictures from Walt's. Can you hear the parade music inside Walt's or do they play the Walt's "music"?

Fantastic float pictures:) Oooh just being on this site and looking and reading makes me excited, and we have months to go yet. Would be interested to see what you thought of Walts too.

There is music playing inside Walt's but when the parade starts they turn it off. There is a speaker just outside Walt's window so you can hear the parade as well as if watching from the pavement.
