Over a decade ago I went to Disney w/ my ex husband. I booked and paid for the trip. A few years after we got divorced I started getting mailings from Disney in his name. I never really thought about it, except weird the rest of his mail got forwarded to him why were these coming to my address after all these years. Fast forward a few years getting remarried and having two kids; and one of these mailings showed up again. Only this time my son sees it and is like "minnie mouse!!" He opens it up and is thrilled with the minnie poster. A few days later I look at it and realize that there is a free dining pin and the days are only two days off from when we have booked a trip. The I look and see that it is addressed to the B@st@rd. So I call my travel agent who says that there is nothing she can do. SO after looking here I figured I just call disney what is the worst they can do say no. And they switched it!! To my name!! They said that I have always resided at this address and they switched it!!! Thank you thank you to all those who have posted and opened my eyes to so many things. You are all rockstars.

Congrats! I am a bit surprised that they changed it, but that's great! :)

Also, :welcome:

I was surprised too! But I went in with the thinking the worst they could say is no. Then I would just be in the same boat I was already in.

My mama always said: "if you DON'T ask the question, the answer is ALWAYS no!" And another saying that would also apply here is "Never take NO as the answer from someone who does not have the authority to say YES!" Glad to hear you tried and were successful.

I had a situation in which I had purchased non-refundable hard tickets for a WDW event. A couple of days later we realized that date conflicted with another unchangable event. I asked all kinds of sources if the hard ticket dates could be switched (didn't want a refund, just a date change to 4 days later).

I finally found a CM who suggested I call another number, but not to expect much since she has never heard of an adjustment to hard tickets. When a very nice CM with MANY years of experience answered that call, she was able to make a quick switch for me and sent a confirmation. Took all of 5 minutes and the answer was "YES" - so always persist as you never know what can happen with a nice attitude and a pleasant request for assistance - and a bit of pixie dust, too! pixiedust:
