The Everything Victoria & Albert's Thread

Solo at V&A sounds like quite a bit of fun! I might have to try that some time! You probably feel like you get tons and tons of attention! How was it?

I've enjoyed myself everytime! You do get lots of attention...if you want it. The staff at V&A are very perceptive and interact as much or as little as you want. It's a very pampering experience.

Here are some photos I hope you enjoy from our trip from this past May. Already planning our trip next year!

I hardly ever post but wanted to jump in on the excitement of my upcoming V&A's visit! We are dining in the main dining room on September 17th. We've visited almost too many times to count but look forward to it every time. The price has definitely jumped up since we started going over a decade ago but the service and food are always outstanding. My favorite restaurant anywhere.

I need some help on the dress code. My husband and I are celebrating our wedding anniversary on our upcoming trip. We have a 10 week old baby and I don't fit into my old dresses! I will lose the weight so I don't want to buy a new dress just to wear once. My choices are wearing a suit (black pants, suit jacket, and dressy shirt) which is a bit frumpy for an anniversary or the one dress I can zip up. The problem is that the dress, while it is fancy, is low cut and reveals a bit of cleavage (I am a nursing mom). Which outfit would be more appropriate? I haven't been there before and I don't want to be tacky. The dress looks much nicer, but I wouldn't want to be out of place or offend.

I think that either outfit would be appropriate for V&A in terms of dress code. But for your anniversary I think the dress would be more appropriate! Especially since you feel it looks much nicer.

And ALL this is personal opinion - I'm not right, no one else is wrong :)

Being V&A - if one is in any way unhappy with that current outfit? For an anniversary? Really - THAT is the occasion that warrants a new outfit :).
Tell wonderful Hubby that this is EXACTLY what I asked MY wife to do for our 10th anniversary V&A dinner :). You deserve it :).

Again, LL this is personal opinion - I'm not right, no one else is wrong :)

Either would be fine!!!

We are getting married at WDW and want to do something special on our last night. We would do V&A but the problem is that we are both picky eaters... Meat and potatoes type of people. The only meat I eat is steak, chicken, and pork. Is it still worth going if they make a custom menu for us or is it not worth it then because the food isn't as "unique"?

Would we be better off doing Narcoosees?

I took my daughter there for her tenth birthday this past Monday. We went into the QVR room. I was nervous because it is so small. We were very close to one table but the other two were further away. It's a church voice place for sure. By about the 4th course the couple at the table next to us initiated conversation (obviously we were not a romantic evening) and we talked back and forth for the remainder of the dinner at low normal speaking volume quite easily.
But the food was to die for. Birthday girl ate food she doesn't normally eat but hit the wall at course 6. Our servers boxed up the remainder of her courses in the kitchen with no issue. They said it happens all the time. (I doubt it.) They also did an excellent job with her menu. She hates seafood. Hates it. Her courses mirrored ours except when we had seafood she had something else.
Birthday girl said her behavior ability was getting shaky so she excused herself and went downstairs. I texted her when it was time to return for birthday cake and coffee. The cake they made had me crying. It was seriously better than my wedding cake! She saw a picture of a cake on disboards and they replicated it and made it better. Almond cake with almond mousse, vanilla buttercream icing covered with pink fondant and flowers. The child is a coffee snob and declared the coffee to be the best she ever tasted.
And if that wasn't enough the chef came out as we were leaving and invited the child into the kitchen for a tour then gave her a chef's hat signed by everyone. Queue more crying on my part.
Totally worth every penny. Told the child not to expect this again until she turns 21.

Congratulations Mama :) I agree that it might be fun to get a new dress that you feel comfortable and beautiful in for such a special occasion. I also understand that you won't want to spend a lot since you'll only wear it once. I find that consignment stores are a fabulous place to get fancy dresses, since people often wear them once and then donate them.

This group will be a little biased :) But if you aren't adventurous eaters, you might try the new STK at Disney Springs or Narcoosees (which I also love). That said, I think you'd be surprised at how much you'll like V&As. I find myself eating things I don't even normally like (like mushrooms). You can always make requests in advance. But it's an expensive gamble, so I get the hesitation! Then again, it's your wedding day - do something special!!

This my child does not eat squat anymore. She used to be a better eater but not anymore. She knew in advance that she did not have to like it but she had to eat it. Surprisingly she enjoyed every single dish she ate. Her stomach couldn't make it the ten rounds but she hung in as long as she could. I was told if my vegetables ever tasted like that she'd eat them at home.
I say go for it. You will be surprised.

Hi! I'm hoping for some help. We have never done V & A and have a reservation for November for the main dining room. We are both semi-picky eaters (he doesn't eat much seafood of any sort, and I don't eat lamb, veal or some fish). Will we have a problem with the menu? Is there a beef/steak course that is always served in the main dining room? We are just trying to decide if its worth it for us to keep the reservation. Is there choices given on the menu or is everything just brought out and served to you without any choice? Thanks very much for any info you all can provide! :coffee:

We will be dining in November for the first time as well! I am excited as I love to try new things. I believe in the main dining room you have the choice which course meal you select. I believe one allows to choose between options during the courses.

12 days to our trip and 17 days to V&A's!!!

Does anyone have current pricing? We are in the main dining room And haven't decided on 7 or 10 course. We will definitely get wine to accompany. Just like to plan and know what to expect. Last I read it was $175pp. Is that still accurate?

Only 10 days until our trip to V&A to celebrate our 7th Anniversary. We are very excited. Need to drop my dress off at the cleaner!

I'm hoping to make a reservation to celebrate my anniversary this coming April. I can't decide between the 7 and 10 courses (assuming I end up in the main dining room, I'll take whatever I can get!). Is it about the same amount of food between the two just spread out amongst more courses? I am afraid of being full by course 4.
