Firstly apologies if this has already been covered. We are planning V&As next year with DD(15) & DS(13), we're all foodies except DS:confused3.He will try most things, but doesn't do veg & sauces.I hear that the chef is accommodating, but how much? I certainly would not want to disrespect the chef and his work by asking for plain food, but i would love DS to experience the magic V&As. We have done all the Signatures and he's loved them all,Citricos & Narcoosees being his favourites.TIAx

Anyone know if V&S's will be closed in Jan/Feb '14? Have been trying to make a reservation online but there's a whole week where it is fully booked which seemed a little strange. I can get a reservation for any random date/time up until the last week of January then nothing.

I am not very much into fine signature dining at Disney World but I read a lot on this thread now as I think V&A is a very considerable dining option.

Is it a problem to get the Chef Table?? Everyone is talking about the 180+10 days...I just tried 2 dates and would have been able to book it.

Nice restaurant, would love to eat there for a special occasion someday.

After the last week of January is more than 180 days out so you can't book yet

I was trying 180 days from now. I found it to be fully booked from 19-27th January next year which is within the 180 days. Just wondered if there was something going on as I can get a booking any other day apart from that week. Am hoping that the next two week will free up something as I'll be in Florida until 15th February.

I would call them. I don't think all the restaurants have all their 2014 dates loaded online yet.

I'll be at V+A's for my honeymoon Monday of next week (the 12th).

Would you all recommend sharing the wine pairing between the two of us? It's not so much that money is a concern (although we'd love to spend less if we could), but I've read that it's just so much wine that it's better to share?

Yes, share the wine pairing. Three glasses each are more than enough. We know: we've done the full pairings...in the QV Room!

We'll be back there a few days before you.

All the best. :thumbsup2

Yes! My husband and I had our 10th anniversary dinner at the Chef's table. He is very particular about the wine he likes. I'll try anything. So I had the wine pairing and he just had a few glasses of Riesling. It was so much food and so much to drink, I was stuffed and more than a little lit by the end. I loved the experience and would do it again in a heartbeat. But I'd 1) eat less bread, and 2) have less to drink so as to remember it better. :)

Just wondering how Victoria and Albert's compares to Remy (which we LOVED on the Fantasy)?

Interested in this as well, we just dined at Remy (3rd time) this past June. We have reservations at V&A's this October. Can't wait. ::yes::

Absolutely share! The first time there we each did the wine pairing, and I had trouble eating all of the delicious food because I was filling up on wine. Also, it's difficult to stagger out of the Grand Floridian after all of that alcohol!:rotfl2:

Shared the second time, and, while it was still a lot for me, I persevered......I'm a trooper!:rotfl:

My wife and I have done the pairings in the main dining room and at the chefs table - the pours at V&A's are not particularly generous...we had no issues and sometimes even hit Mizner's after dinner.

I have nothing of value to add to this thread, but DBF and I will be dining here for the first time (it's his first time to the World!) in January. I'm super excited. :goodvibes

I haven't been watching my ADR dates and the 180 slipped right past me. I made a V & A's ARD for Valentines Day :flower3:. But it's not until 9 pm, kind of late for us, especially for a long meal. Has anyone been for Valentine's before? Do you think they will do something special? If not, I might change to another date. Thanks!!

Although we have dined there a number of times (including last week), we never were at V&A on Valentine's Day. To be sure, every dining experience at V&A is "special," but if you have a question about the holiday, phone the restaurant and ask. Remember: no matter what the date, an appropriate encased rose will be presented to the lady at the end of the meal.

All the best. :thumbsup2

I wonder what they do for same-sex couples - I know nothing was offered to my fiance or myself when we dined there in October, even though I'd told them we were celebrating both our anniversary and our engagement. I think I'm a bit miffed...

The first time I went to V&A was on Valentine's Day. I though that the long-stem rose they gave to my wife was for that, but I later found that it is just normal for there.

Thanks! I'll call. We've been a few times before. I wasn't sure if they would have a Valentines meal not offered on other night.

Not sure. They do give women roses, even single women. If you're male, not sure, though maybe you can ask for a rose. If you are celebrating something, they send you with a loaf of date bread.
