Here is what we think...

The monkey was never killed, so after he got the coin, he was under the curse again. MAYBE, (my best friend and I came up with this ) when the monkey took the coin, all the pirates were alive and under the curse again. Or MAYBE the monkey will find new people so..er..um...oh, I don't know!! Well, there's our opinios!!

I have seen POTC 3 times and I am now on a mission to see every Johnny Depp movie that I can get my hands on.
I REALLY want to see THE BRAVE, which is the movie that Johnny directed and starred in but it was never released in The U.S. and is only available as a "region-2" DVD and my DVD player only plays "region-1" DVDS.

You can play it on your computer... BUT you may need to reconfigure your dvd player software to tell it you are really in region 2. yeah yeah I know you aren't supposed to be able to do this, but you can with certain dvd software players. Don't tell RIAA I don't want to get sued.

Hmmm, thats pretty much the discussion my DW and I had. I just thought it was sad that after all that time of trying to become human again, all some of the pirates got to do was die. And that bad captain never even got to taste his apple....

hey people!! yay new members! this rocks....anyway, i agree with ur interpretations of the monkey scene. i think that since the curse has been put back on someone that all of the pirates r cursed again. and barbossa and his "crew of miscreats" are alive again. and what about jack?? is he gonna be cursed again since he was at one point? poor him, he won't be able to taste the rum lol!

You know, it's really very touching that you people care so much about my beloved Barbossa. He's just fine, I can assure you - who needs apples, anyway?

He does still seem to hold a bit of a grudge against Jack, what with stealing the Pearl and shooting him and all... Now that you mention it, I hold a bit of a grudge against Jack myself for all that. Not to worry, everything will even out in the end!

I'm looking very forward to my second POTC viewing tomorrow night. It will allow me to slip ever further into my own little world! I do like it there.

And Emily, you're starting to frighten me now - you're far too similar to me! I only exist in reality to the absolute minimum neccesary. Perhaps that explains an awful lot about my life so far! Hmmmm...

how could anyone hold a grudge against my dahling? barbossa was the one who left him on a "god-forsaken spit of land" after a horrible mutany against his own captain! now what kind of first mate is that? and he stabbed dear jack too!! so i think we both hold a grudge against each other. humph.

i may actually get to see the movie 5 times rather than only 4. ive still only seen it three times, im definitely going 4 times and i may see it 5. wow, i kinda said the same thing twice and in a very long drawn out way lol. sooo i wonder if we're gonna get anymore members...

DW and I saw the Pirates movie last week and we have a bit of a disagreement about the "secret" scene that runs after all the credits have rolled by.

Since so many of the posters to this thread have seen the movie multiple times I was hoping to get YOUR opinions on what implications, meanings for the plot etc that last scene has. To me, that scene changes the ENTIRE outcome of the movie, my DW doesn't think so.

Has anyone else sat through all the credits and seen that scene? What did you think????? If membership in the club is still open, I'll sign the book!

My thoughts...... I believe that it's quite possible that Barbossa is just seriously wounded and could survive the gunshot (did anyone check for a pulse?????) He could survive.... he and the monkey could take a coin and become cursed again and the two of them would be immortal and able to hunt down our fearless heroes.

The others would not become immortal again since they ended the curse by "repaying blood" and returning the coins. Barbossa could begin another round of his own.

alirght everyone, i just read that pirates comes out on dvd on december 2!!! i cant wait. and also, the official, major pirates merchandise will be released in the fall!!! im so excited!!
