The Everything Pooh Sized Thread

So my local Walgreens didn't have them so I guess I will be finding them online. Hopefully I get em before my trip.

Mine did, I bought it today. It's kind of tight, I suppose that's the point, but a bit hard to get used to. Seemed to help, though, my foot isn't as sore tonight as it usually is at the end of the day.

I will try another. We have at least 6 in about a 15 minute drive from my house. One of them has to carry them!:lmao:

Hello!! I will be going to WDW in 2 weeks and we currently have a nine day parkhopper but we are thinking about adding a water park in one of those days. I am a size 22 and I'm a little nervous about going to a water park because I have never been to one before. I have a few questions

1. Do pooh size people fit in the rafts, inner tubes, and those sort of things?
2. Will I get stuck in a water slide, probably a really stupid question but I really dont know?
3. I will be going with my mom who weighs 120lbs, and I know there are some rides where you have to ride with other people, will this work with her and I?
4. As a pooh size person will I be out of the ordinary compared to everyone else?

Any answers and advice would be great! Thank you so much

Sorry I can't answer all your questions, but I can tell you that you will not be the only POOH at the water park. Every size and shape will be there, so you will not stick out. Besides everyone will be enjoying what they are doing, including you!! ;)
As for the other questions, sorry I haven't been to either water park at WDW, but others and see many Pooh shaped people doing the lazy river and rides.

I am sure others can answer you more specifically, but thought I would set your mind at ease that you will not be the only one enjoying the park that day!! Have a great trip!!

Disney is very Pooh friendly . Your mom ways the average of a teenager so when you look at it that way is doesn't seem so bad. I was A 22/24 when we went to the park. I was by no means the smallest but not the biggest Disney guest come in many shapes. Disney is WONDERFUL about taking that into account. They had wet suites in my size at the shark reef this was my fear :scared1:. you'll do fine relax and have fun :cool1:.

I am about your size and had no problems with anything.

Some of the rafts are family size and there is no problem getting in by yourself or with a small person or even several pooh size. The lazy river rafts are just fine. I put one over my head and hung on with my arms while my body was hanging in the water but this felt tiring after awhile. I then rode around several times by sitting and laying on it. This was lots of fun. The rafts, even the single ones, are big and sturdy.

You will not get stuck in the slide. The movement of the water propels you I think.

I did not feel like I stood out at all. There were many other pooh sized people there, many more than I. I had a nice swimsuit that I looked good in and I felt very comfortable.

Like you, I really worried about this before I went but I didn't want to miss out on it. I thought about wearing shorts and a tshirt and not doing anything but I didn't want to regret it. I saw no one at all noticing anyone else. It is one of our favorite things we did and I am glad we went.

I, too have been worrying about this! I'm 5'3 and 230lbs..the most POOH sized I've ever been. I also was thinking of just wearing shorts and a t-shirt, but I really don't want to miss out on all the fun. I just don't want to get stared at and stand out like a sore thumb:sad2: Any suggestions for a good bathing suit? I carry most of my weight in my lower half (lots of junk in the trunk:) and in my stomach. I'm sooooo excited about our upcoming trip, but this is one thing that has be a little stressed!

Also, are there alot of small turnstiles in the parks that I'd have difficulty with? We were in Disneyland last year and I was about 25lbs lighter than I am now and had to really squeeze through a few of them, especially in Fantasyland. I'm terrified I will get stuck this time. This is our first trip to DW, and I'm really hoping the turnstiles are a little bigger, lol.

I got a Catalina Suddenly Slim swimsuit at Walmart that I love. I was prepared to spend a lot more and look til exhausted but I liked this one so much I stopped looking. It has blue flowers on the top and a black skirt. I thought the skirt was a little short so I brought along a black cover skirt I had from years ago. After the first slide I took it off and went without the extra coverup.

There were so many people of shapes and sizes it boggled the mind. Not to mention all ages. There were many pooh sizes there. No one looked at me at all. In fact I felt quite comfortable there. Everyone seemed to be concerned with themselves and busy doing their own thing. Mostly families there. The teens I did see were paying no attention to anyone else. We went in the morning and stayed til 2 or 3 and did not go in the evening so maybe that made a difference in the kind of people that went. Not so many young people?

Typhoon Lagoon is landscaped and laid out so that there is not a lot of open area except the wave pool. So when you go to a slide, it is fairly secluded in that area. The next thing to do is in it's own area also. Lots of chairs are by shrubs and trees.

Maybe it's because everyone has to take off their glasses! If you leave your glasses on they get wet sometimes and that makes it hard to see too!

Thank you so much! I was just worried because I don't want to be embarrassed , but I feel better!!

Is anyone familiar with how pooh friendly Delta is? My flight got switched from US Airways to Delta....I spoke with a customer service rep at US Airways and found out they have free seatbelt extenders, but with Hurricane Irene approaching I can't get through to Delta. Does anyone know if they have extenders available, or if I'll even need one? I'm a size 24.....Thanks for your help :)

Awesome! I'm getting really nervous about Delta...been reading a lot of not-so-positive reviews....but if you're good on Southwest who's notorious for "fat folk discrimination", I should be ok.:rotfl:

Hope that didn't sound offensive....

I fly Delta every 3 weeks and are size 26-28, Delta does have extenders available, just ask the flight attendant when you board. They have so many different sizes of planes that you might not need one or you might need one. Have a great flight and vacation!

We aren't flying this year.... have always been too scared that I would be pointed out as needing to purchase a 2nd seat (which is not something I CAN do) that I have avoided it. But it is good to hear someone my same size (26/28) can fly ok... makes me feel better.

I just read where you are from, how ironic, Elmira is where I fly to and from every 3 weeks! Delta usually usually uses 2 types of planes from there, one without first class, one with a small first class section but I don't have trouble on either size plane in coach seat with the belts, and I am large in my belly. They do have extenders for use if you need it. The Delta staff are very nice at the airport. I imagine you are now flying through Detroit instead of Philly if you were on US Air to begin with? I have not had a bad experience there with Delta staff, on the rare occasions I have had delays or cancellations the agents at both of those airports have been very good to work with. I know that Delta has problems just like every other airline does, but that is to be expected with the airline industry in general for many reasons. I hope that will put your mind at rest a little bit :)

Nope, not at all offensive!;) I was always worried about it myself from reading the same kind of thing. With SW (and I'm guessing other planes, as well) I think the seats in the mid section of the plane are the roomiest. If you are toward the front where the plane starts to narrow, the seats are actually a little narrower to keep the aisle even.

And its your first trip to WDW too..........oh my goodness I remember that trip oh so long ago (1978), I hope you have a great time! I've been many times since then, last trip was Dec 2010, and I was ready to go back as soon as I arrived home! PM me if you have any other questions on the airport, Delta experience etc. scdak@yahoo.com

Here's a great website that you can use to check out the seating on Delta (or any airline) before your flight: http://www.seatguru.com/. This site gives you the seat width and pitch information for every airline, as well as which seats are "good" vs "bad" seats based on the plane's configuration.

You do have to know the plane type for your flight, which hopefully you can find out from the Delta website as long as you know the date and flight number.

I did that, and the planes I'll be on are measuring at 17.5 inches. I'm much bigger than 17.5 inches! Heck, I think my size 6 best friend is wider than 17.5 inches :lmao: But thanks for the info anyways :thumbsup2
