The Everything and Nothing Thread

Hi Dax! Glad you had a good time at the concert. :goodvibes I'm sure it was nice for you & your DH to relax & forget all the stress for a few hours.

I'm supposed to be out running errands. My mom's birthday is this weekend, I haven't gotten her a gift yet. Can't think of what to get her. Anyway, I should be out shopping, but here I am Dissing instead. :rotfl: The weather is so yuckky, I don't want to leave the house. Kind of cold, gray, dreary & damp from rain the last few days. But at least it's not snowing, I guess.

How's everyone else's week going? Hope Faith & Joan are having great vacations! :goodvibes

This is getting lost in the shuffle again...probably due to all the :santa: happenings..

So how is everyone holding up...Dead Bird Day is rapidly approaching..are you ready? I am...I am working a few hrs in the morning, then we going to the movies and then dinner at Chef Mickeys...

So whats everyone been doing as of late?

Hi everyone!! I just wanted to say: it's my 1000th post!!!!:cool1: Since so many of my posts were on this thread, I thought it only right that this milestone should be on here, too! :goodvibes

How is the week going for you all? Lara, are you enjoying the time off work?

How is your DH Dax? Did you get a new neuro? I'm jealous of your Thanksgiving dinner at Chef Mickey's!

Faith & Joan, how were the vacations?

Janet, Teri, Autumn, how are you guys doing?

Hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving! :goodvibes

Now to work on my 2nd thousand posts, maybe I'll say something tag worthy in the next thousand! :lmao:

Hello everyone!

I got back about 9 last night. Walked out of the airport into 32 degrees and snowing. Woke up to 23 today. Very unusual this early for Portland, but fortunately no delays unlike the poor folks trying to get back to Seattle.

We had a great time! Several days at Disneyland, a few on Catalina Island and a drive up the coast as far as Santa Monica. Mostly great weather and we wore shorts a lot of the time. It poured on Saturday, so we took that as an opportunity for a quiet day, which we really needed at that point!

Disneyland was just beautiful decorated for Christmas. Loved the Small World facade all lit up, and the Haunted Mansion "Nightmare Before Christmas" was great. We saw the "World of Color" show at California Adventure, and thought it was just okay - not worth the wait for us.

Since this was a sisters trip, we managed to get a fair amount of bickering in, but many more laughing til we almost wet our pants moments. Now it's time to switch gears and get ready for Thanksgiving. The snow has us readjusting quickly!

Hope you are all having a good week so far! Have a great Thanksgiving!

:thumbsup2

Still here...not sure where everyone else went though...

I'm still here - since I had the last post in a long while I thought I'd killed the thread! That's the last time I'll force anyone to look at slides of my vacation!

Hope everyone is doing well! Can I just say -

It's good to be a Duck!

Hi everyone!!

My goodness it's been a long time, I haven't seen this thread in ages.:scared1:

How is everyone??

I have finals starting next week and am going crazy with everything I have to get done! I am so looking forward to school being finished and just enjoying the Christmas Break.:thumbsup2 I have three weeks off from classes so I'll have lots of time to catch up with sleep and put some extra hours in at work. Oh, and read books that aren't textbooks. Can't WAIT for that.

Hope all you Americans had safe, happy Thanksgivings!

:rotfl: and :confused3 ?

Glad to see you Joan! Don't know what the duck quote is tho. Maybe we can talk Pakey into showing her slides, maybe that will bring the crowd back. :thumbsup2

Hi Dax!! How are you & your DH doing? Any news on his migraines?

Winter has hit the Buffalo area this week. Big snow storm, we got about 34 inches of snow Wed to Thurs in my town. A few miles away, nothing. More snow, high winds & lower than average temps predicted for the next week. I might not get my shopping done at this rate.

Anyone else floating by: Lara, Shelly, Jane, Pakey? Miss you guys! :flower3:

Hi Autumn!!!! We must have been posting at the same time. Nice to see you! :goodvibes Good luck with exams. I'm sure you're ready for a break from studying.:)

Oh, I've heard about the Buffalo snow! I wish it would snow here in Toronto, we have nothing. Send some up this way!!:goodvibes

Wish I could! :lmao: I'm gonna need some room in my driveway for the new stuff next week. The piles at the end of my driveway are as tall as me! I hope the lake freezes over soon!

Actually, they are using front loaders & dump trucks to haul it away from street corners in some areas.Maybe they'll export it to Canada!

Hi guys.

This camel really makes my butt look big but I had the most amazing vacation ever.

Hey Sandee! I saw something about West Seneca on the Weather Channel and was thinking that might be you!

Great to hear from you, Meg! You need a countdown calendar 'til break! Just as exciting as how many days 'til Christmas!

Hi Dax! Are you enjoying Christmastime at WDW?

It sure looks like my lifelong favorite football team, the Oregon Ducks, are headed to the National Championship game for the first time ever!

Faith! Looking good!

Hi Faith! What a great picture! Did everything go smoothly on the trip? And I'm too distracted by the pom-poms on the camel to notice your butt!!!:lmao:

Yes Joan, that is my town on the news! I was coming home from work on the highway Wed. night at 8 PM as the storm was gearing up. I have been stranded a few times before. I am the family joke: if anyone is going to get stuck over night, it is me. I was absolutely not letting it happen this time!! I was lucky I was at a point on the highway where traffic splits to east & west when everything stopped. I need to go west to get home, but instead made my way east & got off the highway. Took city & town roads to get home. Wasn't able to make it to work Thursday. Everything from our direction was snowed in. So I started vacation early! :thumbsup2

Faith- what an amazing picture!! You look great!:goodvibes

Thanks, Joan! And yes, I do!

Sandee, I don't envy the shoveling... but I would love a white Christmas! Stay safe.

HAPPY SUNDAY!!!...ok, I am not really that happy its Sunday, as Sundays mean back to work for the start of a new week, but I can pretend I am happy..

Glad to see the gang coming back to our little thread...

Pakey - Glad you had a great time in Egypt, would LOVE to see some more pics, please share...and how does being on a camel make your butt look big?

Focus - Hope the snow doesnt cause too much hassle, I sure do miss it here in FL..

As for myself and DH...we surviving. His work schedule has been ALL over the place as of late, and he is either working mid shift getting home at 8p(I go to bed at 9:30) or working closing and I am asleep when he is home, so I am not seeing him to much right now, and I HATE IT! His headaches arent as frequent or barely there. We think it really may be a deep sinus problem, as bending over or stress both cause a POUNDING headache. We will address it in Jan when we go back to the Dr.

I wish I could get out and enjoy the Christmas fun at the parks..I am dying to get to both Universal and SeaWorld, but time seems to be a factor. I may be hitting Disney within the next few weeks when the family gets in...

Well enough rambling from me...Hope everyone has a good one.

Hi guys! Had a quiet weekend, DH had to go to work & then spent lots of time working from home. Gonna head to the mall today & start my shopping. Luckily the weather has settled down. It's really cold, but the snow is light & won't cause any trouble.

I still have to pick up some more Christmas cards. One of these days I will quit doing them. Seems I get fewer every year. I end up mostly sending to immediate & extended family. I could just give them cards on the holiday when I see them, why bother with addressing & mailing those?
I have a few I send to old friends I haven't seen in 10, 20 & even 30 years. Why send a card to someone I haven't seen or spoken to in 30 years. :confused3

Have a good week Evs! :goodvibes

Morning all.

I wish I had snow. I miss the snow. All we have here is heat and fog. 2 seasons.

I went out shopping yesterday. I'm a bit dismayed about how empty the stores are. Great for me but not so great for a hurting economy. I've been interviewing for a new person for my staff and every one of them has been out of work at least 18 months. I remember the day when every person I would interview would be working but looking for something better.

The camel makes my butt look big because my butt is big (and maybe because I dang near pooped myself from fear on that beast). I will post more pictures when I have time. I can't tell you how amazing the sights were there. I'm still having dreams about Egypt every night; I've never done that from a vacation before.

Dax, I have terrible sinus problems. Have the doctors done a head MRI? That should show any sinus blockage. I have a terrible time in the winter (which is why I live in a warm weather area).

I have a busy week ahead. I hope everyone has a great Monday.

Hello Evies!

I also got out yesterday for the first of my Christmas shopping. Came down with the coughing plague after my trip, and hadn't been out of the house since before Thanksgiving. Have to get a few out of town packages ready to go and had a lot of fun finding silly things to include, like balloon powered toys and rhinestone rings for our grown nieces and nephews. Gordon usually hates to shop, but he really gets into doing a package for his brother's family.

Faith, can't wait to see some more pics!
