This isn’t Disney related but since Pete mentioned several weeks ago on a show that he had started to use the iPhone app “Evernote” all the time as his go to app for notes and such I though I would share this use I just came up with that combines Evernote and my Kindle since we have so many here that have both the iPhone and Kindle
After Pete mentioned the app I was intrigued so I downloaded it and have become a huge fan as well. One of my favorite features of the app it that you can copy and paste something from a web page to the app in literally 30 seconds and carry the information around with you. (I’ve actually been using it a lot for when I see recipes on blogs I want to keep and try later).
Today I was on the Amazon Kindle store downloading a few of this weeks free books and happened to glance at my purchase log and realized I had over 40 books on the Kindle already but I couldn’t remember what most were about. Then a lightbulb went off. I went into the Evernote App and created a new file called “Kindle Books” then I went over to the Kindle store, opened up the descriptions of each book , highlighted the subject of that book and clicked on the Evernote icon and within minutes I had a file with the “back cover description” of each book I have on my Kindle. Now when I am ready for a new book I can quickly scan the books, read the description and decide what to read.
Yes it is using two pieces of equipment but I never go anywhere without my iPhone and opening the books up in the Kindle to get the description is the one thing I dislike about the device. As I buy new books or download free ones I will continue to this. After I read them I will simple delete the note.
Just thought I would share in case there are others that were looking for a easy solution to get book descriptions quickly.
