The Ever Changing Resort PTR, June 2016...Completed!

I feel bad for all you guys going in May and even June! Still many unknowns, but at least stuff is coming about little by little. I am jealous you'll get to see the Jungle Book show though! It's one of my favorite movies and I've always wished there was more JB in the parks somewhere besides the M&G with King Louie and Baloo. As much as I want to see RoL when we go in Nov., I don't think I'd be TOO disappointed if this JB thing was still there instead - as long as it doesn't suck lol. Or maybe I can be really optimistic that they do something like, 2 RoL shows a night instead of the suggested 3, with a JB show in between?

Yes, as much as I'm looking forward to ROL (which I'm thinking we'll get to see June 2017??? Lol), I think the JB show will be good, too. So maybe we lucked out with the ROL delay! And after researching here on the Dis, I'm gonna go with a guess of a 9p show instead of 8:30.

Weather and MORE AK Changes

Not too much of an update but here ya go...

So some of you may know that Disney announced the nighttime activities starting Memorial Day Weekend....so I've changed up our plans somewhat. I also heard that the nighttime safari isn't so great but EE is so great (at night) so, even though I had originally planned EE around 8 and KS for after the JB show (or whenever I think the JB show will be), I am going to switch those. Disney uploaded KS nighttime FP so I switched our RD ones to 7:25-8:25....just guessing the JB show will be at 9 and the FP will be 8:25-8:45 (based on 9pm F! FP). EE nighttime ones have NOT been loaded up but I am hoping to change that to 9:30-10:30 and do it right after JB. Here's a screenshot of just the last rides of the evening (I put JB in as a rest break bc its not available on TP yet):


I totally dislike being in flux but I guess I better get used to it, huh?

Also we are 36 days away!!! So I looked at a way-too-early forecast:

Not shocking. Not pleasant, either, but nothing I'm not used to being a Georgia native and growing up with it all my life. Those mid-day breaks are looking better and better.

Mom reserved a Town and Country mini-van for the trip and I am going to buy a SunPass device. I also am going to subscribe to Kenny the Pirate to see if I can get in on some Characterpalooza action. I found a hat I'd like to purchase from The Disney Store online but I may just wait until we get to Disney as the selection might be larger. My packing pile is getting larger and larger. Oh and I paid off my portion of the trip! There are probably things I am forgetting to mention but this is quick and dirty as I am at the end of the school day and need to head out here in a few.

I hope you manage to find it. We lucked out and caught it twice in Aug. of 2014, but that's when Kenny still had it listed for free on his site and they had it on Streets of America. Once they moved it by ToT last year, it got way out of hand and now they're even more secretive about it It was so incredibly cool though, we met characters we'd never met and/or hadn't met in YEARS!

I have used Kenny the Pirate's info on both of our trips and it's been great. The fee for the app is completely worth it if you're planning to meet characters IMHO, and we were able to catch Characterpalooza with his info. That became one of the highlights of the trip for the kids!

With the van reserved, your portion paid off, and the packing pile begun it sounds like things are really starting to come together!

I subscribed! And Characterpalooza seems like it might work in our schedule without much moving around. Some of us may have to miss an attraction but it might be worth it!

I don't know how I'm going to survive the wait! So close, but not close enough! Of course, I'll be busy with end-of-the-year school stuff, then whatever else we need to do for the trip (shopping, setting up deliveries, purchasing memory maker, etc). But still, I'm so ready to go!

I can't wait to get our MB's, that made it feel so close and real 2 years ago. And since we have a split stay I opted to get another set so we'd all have 2 colors each or better yet, an extra apiece in case somebody loses theirs.

AJ and I have our specialty bands (me - Villains, AJ - castle) so at least we will have 2. My parents opted not to get extras and Will doesn't even need his! Next year, when we go, we'll get another set!

Packing Piles and Pixie Dust Already!

So it's getting close! Next month we are going to DISNEY! Today is the last day for us to customize Magic Bands, I did online check in last night, I bought a subscription to Kenny the Pirate's Character Locator and I've been tweaking plans. I've also been making packing piles in our extra bedroom.
Packing cubes, travel items for the boys, my clothes, and some travel toiletries, etc:



Oh and there is a throwaway roasting type pan there.....lol. I read a tip about taking some foot soak and a throw away pan and using that at night, so I decided to try it!

Here's some of the boys' clothes, sunscreen, and snacks:


And, last, some dollar tree finds (shower poufs, snack containers, hooks, glow stuff, etc):


I need to decide what outfits for what days for the boys. I have done that for myself, already. As we get closer, I'll need to pull out suitcases and decide whose stuff goes where, as well as pack a smaller suitcase for our travel day and our arrival day as I don't know if we will get into our room before we set off for the Magic Kingdom. You may or may not remember, but I would like to be at MK by 3, at the latest, meaning leaving SSR around 2 or so. I feel like we have a semi good shot of getting into the room before we leave but we won't have much time to mess around, so I need to have all our stuff ready to go without fooling with most of the suitcases.

Anyway, onto the last part of this update: Pixie Dust Already!! As some of you know (and are experiencing) Disney World is majorly in flux right now. There are just several things that are up in the air right now and it really makes it hard to plan. So I shot off an email to the executive office of Walt Disney World yesterday and I received a call from Winston, from that office. We chatted for awhile about all my concerns and questions. There wasn't much he could offer me as far as opening dates or information but he did explain some reasoning behind the uncertainty. I thanked him, told him I was sure we would have a wonderful time regardless, we hung up and I went on my way. Well, to my surprise, he called me back today. He said there was something he wanted to do for me but he wasn't sure yesterday, if he could. So after he verified it that he indeed could, he wanted to call and let me know. He gave our entire party (well, not Will, because he doesn't need them) an anytime fastpass for every day of our trip! I was so thankful and appreciative! He said that he hoped it helped and I feel like it does because I don't have to constantly be checking for any openings so I can change our fastpasses/plans when things get announced. Now we have the anytime fastpass to use on anything new that happens to open up on our trip.

I'm not one to constantly complain about the changes at Disney and I do still feel like the magic is there, but it was also nice to see that they listened to what I had to say and took the time to acknowledge it. I mean, who am I to Disney? Not some big wig, not someone who is there all the time. Just one visitor in millions, yet they took the time to give me personalized customer service.

Ok, so that's it for now. Hopefully my next update will include a photo of our magic bands in my possession. I'm actually not sure if I have mentioned this but AJ and I already have specialty bands. I have a villains one and he has a castle one. I'll post a photo of those in my next update, as well.

Looks like you're in great shape! I've been tweaking my plans and FP+ times the last few days myself, but it's been hard to find the time. End of the year stuff is kicking my rear right now! Dance recitals, end of the season soccer party, PTA meetings, Open House, my mom's birthday, Mother's Day...and that's just last week leading up to this weekend! So ready for Disney!!!!!! And then of course I'll need a vacation from my vacation!!! The next few weeks are going to fly by.
