DH and I were at the MK a couple of weeks ago. It was pretty crowded, and we're spoiled rotten by having Florida Resident APs, and won't wait in line more than 15 minutes for anything.

So we decided to do a couple of the less popular attractions, including the Tiki Room. DH was very skeptical, but we REALLY enjoyed it! The last time we went to the Tiki Room was a couple of years ago, and the show consisted of too much loud arguing between two of the large bird characters (both supposedly Hollywood talent agents).

The theme this time was fairly similar, but they dropped most of the obnoxious arguing and instead had lots of retro music. It was really fun and not nearly long enough. We are now thinking of decorating our porch in an Enchanted Tiki Room theme!

(We also went to the Hall of Presidents and decided we never, ever have to see that attraction again. :teeth: )

We also saw this when my parents and I went this past December. We've seen it before (6 or 7 years ago) and liked it then, however now with the new "management," it's so good! :goodvibes The music is a lot better and a lot of neat effects. It was also nice to not have any crowd at all! A hidden gem!

I can imagine Hall of Presidents could be quite a snore, glad we never went to that one! ;)

I love the Tiki Birds. We always make time to this at least once a trip.

Are you telling the truth or are you just trying to trick me into going back in there??? :lmao: Just kidding! This was one of my favorite things as a child, I was sooo excited to take my ds to this (and 10 thousand leagues under the sea :sad1: which was closed down ) when we saw this show I couldn't believe what they had done to it. I hated it, I was so upset, my family couldn't understand what was supposed to be so great about it, since they never saw it in it's original form. Maybe I'll try it again, it can't be any worse, or can it?

You mean the big birds used to argue MORE??? How is that possible? Generally a good attraction, but could be improved by getting rid of the loud and rude dialogue and give a little more of a Disney touch.

I happen to like the Tiki Room.

But then again, I have been known to drink Beverly and love it, so you may have to be skeptical about my tastes :confused3

I think it's cute and we enjoy it.

I missed The Tiki Birds this December. I remember I saw it December 2004. The show was so pretty and visually appealing, but the rude, obnoxious, yelling between the main characters, was irritating. Is it now different from 12/04 ??

The Tiki Birds were among the special surprises of our trip last Fall. I went thinking it would be corny and a waste of time, but I was pleasantly surprised!

This, along with the Hall of Presidents, is a must-do again on the next trip.

PrincessKitty1, the script for the Enchanted Tiki Room (under new management) actually hasn't changed since the show was madeover in April, 1998.

The two talent agents (voiced by Don Rickles and the late Phil Hartman) arguing with each other are actually the pre-show, which takes place in the tiki garden outside of the main attraction theater.

we also discovered this show in august 2003. it was really good. funny, enchanting :rotfl2: , and a relaxing place to spend a florida afternoon.

its one of our favorites! :thumbsup2

The Tiki Room rocks! It's a perfect place to relax and get an a/c break on an August afternoon. And, after the Tiki show, you can get a Dole Whip.

LOL - This really struck me as funny! :) I know what you mean...

We always visit the Tiki Birds at least one every trip.

I don't know...I remember DESPISING the Tiki's as a small child. This was back in the A - E ticket ride days, eh, early 1970's. As I recall the Tikis were an A or B ride & we always had PLENTY of those tickets left over, so we ALWAYS went to them. Trust me, not the most exciting attractions for an 8-year old. I just cannot bring myself to make my 6-year old sit through it.

I did not make the TIki Birds on my trip in AUg but was pleasantly surprised to find out that my 15 yr old son and my 14 yr old neice went when they together in the park.

My older son (20 yrs old) and I were talking the other day in the car and the Disney cd was playing. It came to the original Tiki Bird and he started debating which vesion he liked better. He never did reach a conclusion because we got to where we were going.

My older son also was upset because he never got to go on IASW. He wanted to see the redecorated version.

:confused3

The tikki birds are loved in our house you will quite often find us all singing along to this much to the annoynance of neighbours and friends who think we have all lost the plot :sunny:

The Tiki Birds are a must for DH and also the Hall of Presidents but I think we go to that so he can cool off and take a nap!

I love the tiki birds! I liked the original much better but I still enjoy it. It rarely has a line, its air conditioned and has music you can sing to. IASW is beautiful since they redecorated it but honostly, I can skip it. (That song...:scared:) I make tiki birds a must see every trip.

Now Hall of Presidents, yeah, I feel asleep the last time.
