The Empty Nesters Magical Mystery Tour *1/28* Link to New Girl's TR p141

Sounds like a fun night in Epcot! I pretty much never sample wine at the Food and Wine festival, isn't that weird? I'd much rather eat than drink! :rotfl:

I've wanted to try Tokyo Dining for a while, but there are always so many other places that I'd rather go, so it always gets pushed aside! It looks pretty good, even though I'm not a huge sushi fan! I'm sure I'd like something on the menu!

Your Boardwalk pics are amazing! And the Swan and Dolphin, so pretty! Someday I'd really like to go over there to check out those resorts, but again, there's never any time! Ugh! I need like, a month in Disney to do everything I want to do! :rotfl2:

Geeze, that's too much being denied for one update! lol I would have been offended by not getting a response to that offer of help, but like you said, maybe she was stressed out at that time and came off worse than she normally would have.

I do think she was just stressed out and it was all a lot to take in. The main thing is I offered and I tried to do the right thing. I am just happy the whole family had a great time! It's always nice to see newbies have a successful trip!

The Boardwalk is so gorgeous at night, your pictures are lovely :)

Thanks! I do love the Boardwalk at night. I guess that's obvious since I can't stop taking pictures of it! :rotfl2:

Denied? :rotfl2: Thats a good time.

:rotfl2: Honestly, I couldn't think of a better name for this update! :confused3 So denied seemed sadly appropriate!

Visit other parks? What are these other parks you speak of? :confused3

:rotfl2: I totally cracked up when I read this. Well, hmmmm, let's see - there's Island of Adventure, Universal Studios, and Seaworld. Blasphemy, I tell you!

Vero looks amazing and in June? Perfect!

Our first trip there was in June and it was HOT, but I loved the whole room (i.e. adult beverage), pool, beach rotation. It really worked for me!

Feb 2015 for Disneyland will be nice. Not sure about the crows but I'm not thinking they'll be too bad.

According to the crowd calendar the last week of Feb and the first two weeks of March are supposed to be good. I hope that's accurate!

Tokyo dining looks delicious. My kids love sushi and Teppan. Maybe that'll have to go on our maybe list for the next trip......whenever that is.

I enjoyed it there! The food was pretty good, there were a ton of choices, but the best part was the impeccable service. Those ladies were just lovely and so, so very friendly. Win Win!

When will you be at the World with Cynthia? Our church's youth pastor is there right now and I was thinking what a shame it was that they're missing the opening of the Mine Train by just a couple of weeks.

We will be there next week! :cool1: And so far I have heard of no soft openings so I am not entirely optimistic. Such a bummer because it really looked like it was on track for an official opening. Oh well!

Your pictures of the Mexico ride are really good!

Thank you! :)

It was at Tokyo Dining (although it may have had a different name then) that I decided that I don't like tempura. Haven't had it since. I can't remember if that was our 2001 or 2005 trip, but one of those.

Hmmmm - the funny thing is I thought I liked tempura, but I didn't care for the tempura there. The dough was just sort of bland. I would like to try it again, but if I go back it will be for the sushi!

Great pics at Boardwalk at night (and Dolphin).
You got REALLY good pics at Gran Fiesta!

Not a sushi fan, but your meal looked pretty good.

We decided to pass on the DVC PAP deal too. We are going with regular APs when we go in December! Which means we get to go back in 2015 at least once!! Hopefully October!

Extra points? :confused3:scratching You must have WAY more points than me!

I will keep my fingers crossed for a preview or soft opening of Mine Train for you and Cynthia (and others traveling soon). I remember getting lucky with new fantasyland when we were all there in October 2012! Can you believe that's the last time I was at WDW?

DL - I promise you will NOT regret going for 5 days! We loved it and thought that was a good amount of time (although another day or two would have been fine too!)

And since it's really late and I'm getting tired…

:rockband:party::bday:party::cake:

I hope you have an AWESOME birthday filled with pixiedust:

party: :bday: party: Mary Ellen

I hope you have a fabulous day!!!!!

I think it sounds like you're doing pretty well for yourself.

:thumbsup2

I know. what else can you say!

Cool! So why does the doctor charge me for being late when he makes me sit in the waiting room for an hour past my appointment? And why does he keep the stethoscope in the freezer? :rotfl2:

I don't know the answer to that! :rotfl2:

Nothing like seeing the smile!

I'm gonna go ahead and file this one under "Blessing In Disguise".:rolleyes1:rotfl:

:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl: I totally cracked up when I read this! Too funny!

:rotfl2: Wow, that takes some guts.

You're not kidding! :lmao:

Now that sounds interesting!

It was really good! Loved that cake!

Yeah, that's...strange.

It's weird that I didn't notice those until I went bcd and looked at my pictures!

I fell behind again. I can't believe how busy work has been and then I was making a rock garden all weekend. :faint:

I loved your rock garden. It looks great! I know you worked your "you know what" off to get that done! tong work!

It sounds like you had a lovely rest of the afternoon at Epcot.

We really did. It was a perfect day!

Dinner looks "interesting", but that dessert looks absolutely yummy.

I have to say that the dessert was definitely the highlight of the meal because it was (1) totally unexpected and (2) so GOOD!

Beautiful pictures of the Boardwalk. I agree...I've seen both guys on the Boardwalk and the other one is much better.

Kardenni was amazing. Something about watching magic at night on the Boardwalk is really special.

:lmao:

I don't know what it is like to have extra points either but I might soon. The only time I had points banked was when I bought them and they banked the ones due to expire. :lmao:

Well, you are ahead of me then! Well, until this year if I end up not using those points at DL. And VCG will suck up those points in NO time! Definitely a high point price! Ironically the points are lower during President's week when I would think the crowds would be higher. Go figure!

Hope you have a wonderful trip with lots of pixie dust. pixiedust:

Thanks Pat! I know we really wish you were going to be there!

:scared1:

You go girl!!! :rotfl:

It is a scary thought, isn't it??? :lmao:

I'm guessing those videos will go the same way as Rosie's torpedoing...... :rolleyes1

:rotfl:

Sounds like a fun night in Epcot! I pretty much never sample wine at the Food and Wine festival, isn't that weird? I'd much rather eat than drink! :rotfl:

:rotfl: Well, I can't fault you for that because there are SOOOOOO many yummy things to sample! Me - I want it ALL - the food and the wine!!!!!!:thumbsup2

I've wanted to try Tokyo Dining for a while, but there are always so many other places that I'd rather go, so it always gets pushed aside! It looks pretty good, even though I'm not a huge sushi fan! I'm sure I'd like something on the menu!

If you're not a huge sushi fan I can see it getting bumped off the list because the menu is very heavy on the sushi! It is a nice setting and the costumer service is really good. If you do go - make sure you order that ginger cake. So good!

Your Boardwalk pics are amazing! And the Swan and Dolphin, so pretty! Someday I'd really like to go over there to check out those resorts, but again, there's never any time! Ugh! I need like, a month in Disney to do everything I want to do! :rotfl2:

Tell me about it - I feel the same way. Every time I stay at the boardwalk I try to run over there because it really is an interesting and pretty area. But I never go inside and really look around. I need to do that!

Great pics at Boardwalk at night (and Dolphin).
You got REALLY good pics at Gran Fiesta!

Thanks! So glad you like! :good vibes

Not a sushi fan, but your meal looked pretty good.

It was a fun place to eat. I'm glad I tried it because the service was great and that cake was to die for - so good!

We decided to pass on the DVC PAP deal too. We are going with regular APs when we go in December! Which means we get to go back in 2015 at least once!! Hopefully October!

Nice! I'm jealous of your December trip. I am really starting to miss Disney at Christmas. Every year it looks more and more festive.

And I'm OK with my decision to pass on the passes. I'm looking forward to going to the Dark Side! :thumbsup2

Extra points? :confused3:scratching You must have WAY more points than me!

I think 2014 is the first time we haven't invited people to stay with us and used bigger accommodations - hence the extra points. Every year since we purchased we either took the kids (and a kid's friend) or invited our friends or family and we didn't do that this year.

I will keep my fingers crossed for a preview or soft opening of Mine Train for you and Cynthia (and others traveling soon). I remember getting lucky with new fantasyland when we were all there in October 2012! Can you believe that's the last time I was at WDW?

Thanks! I'm not that optimistic. I haven't heard of any soft openings yet, which bums me out. Oh well, you never know!

DL - I promise you will NOT regret going for 5 days! We loved it and thought that was a good amount of time (although another day or two would have been fine too!)

I am sure I won't regret it! I think 5 days in the park will be wonderful and then I think we are going to San Diego for a few days. That's the BFP right now. We'll see how it evolves!

And since it's really late and I'm getting tired…

:rockband:party::bday:party::cake:

I hope you have an AWESOME birthday filled with pixiedust:

Thanks Sherri! So nice of you!

GREAT REVIEW!!!! I really love your writing style. My lovely wife and I will be empty nesters in August When our youngest daughter will join her big sister at Oklahoma Christian University ( Both will be playing soccer while majoring in education. Very Proud). Funny thing is we will be in WDW in June and I was telling my wife about your Trip report last night. I think we may be going back in Sept. just her and me...I took her there for her first time on out 1st anniversary 22 years ago. Funny how Disney has been a huge part of our lives ever since.

Yayayay! How was Italy? Great, I'm sure!

And thank you! I just LOVE your little pictures! They are awesome! I really need to learn how to do that. I mean - I know how to copy to my iPhoto, but I'd like to learn how to personalize things. I need a lesson!

GREAT REVIEW!!!! I really love your writing style.

:welcome: Dallas Bengal! Thanks so much for joining in and thanks for the compliment on my writing!

My lovely wife and I will be empty nesters in August When our youngest daughter will join her big sister at Oklahoma Christian University ( Both will be playing soccer while majoring in education. Very Proud).

OMG - you should be totally proud. Playing a college sport is HUGE! Both the talent and commitment involved. Congratulations! :thumbsup2

Let me warn you - the first few weeks (months) of the empty nest thing are hard. And my youngest son only went to school 30-40 minutes away. Still, I was lost for awhile.

The good news - It gets SO MUCH better! Now we don't want anyone home for the summer. :rotfl2: Just kidding!

I'm assuming your June trip is a family trip - Nice! Enjoy!

Definitely do the adults only trip if you haven't done it in a while. It was be a great way to celebrate your anniversary and your empty nest! Enjoy! Keep me posted on your plans!

Happy birthday!

Thanks Jedimeg - much appreciated! I had a great day!

Its your birthday?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!

party:party:party:party:

Thanks Pam! Can't wait to see you next week! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Happy Birthday, Mary Ellen. I hope you have a most magical day.

Thanks Kathy! You are another DISer with the most awesome greetings!

I had a wonderful B-day! And now I'm going to Disneyworld! :cool1:

I can't stand to see the damage those dummies in Baltimore did! How do I know it happened in Baltimore? Because they said some luggage jammed up the belt and they had to move our flight to a different belt.
When it sticks just use more force... :rolleyes1 :crazy2:

We passed on the AP's. And you know what? - I'm OK with that. I really want to visit other parks (e.g. the dark side) in October and then we have the cruise. There are so many things I'd like to see and do. I'm definitely going to MNSSHP. Heck - maybe I'll even go twice!
Can't argue with that plan. :thumbsup2

She could have said, “thanks, but we are all going to ride something together” or “You really don’t need to do that, but thank you”.

Instead she said. Nothing.

Awkward.

Denied.
I've got to hope it was that she was distracted or something and just spaced on it??? :confused3 I'd have jumped all over an offer like that! :lmao:

Our dining location was a first for us. I made an ADR at Tokyo Dining. I love sushi, but Denny doesn’t . I figured there had to be something on the menu he could eat.
I have to say that I've got no desire to try this place out. I've allowed myself to be talked into trying sushi on more than one occasion. It always ends up back on the plate... :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

When it sticks just use more force... :rolleyes1 :crazy2:

You got that right! :rotfl2:

Can't argue with that plan. :thumbsup2

I think I've decided on just once for MNSSHP because the second party is on our actual anniversary and I really want to go out to dinner that night. Once should be fine.

I've got to hope it was that she was distracted or something and just spaced on it??? :confused3 I'd have jumped all over an offer like that! :lmao:

I think it was distraction. It's cool. I just wanted to adults to get a chance to all ride together. Oh well.

:rotfl2: I think sushi is either one of those things you love or you don't. I can see that if you don't like it the thought of it is probably pretty nasty. I, on the other hand, LOVE it!
