We are leaving on the 20th for the BWV's. Our first night will be in a standard studio, but then the next 6 nights will be in a 2BR boardwalk view (our family isnt' arriving until the 21st, so we saved points on the 20th)

What is the earliest any of you have ever been able to check in? Did you give up your request in able to check in early? I know check in is at 4pm and that is okay with us. I am allowed to dream though. (as J. Cricket likes to say)

We got into the Boardwalk at 9 a.m. two years ago, when we drove down and got there much earlier than expected, thanks to my lead-footed husband!

We thought for sure they'd say no room ready, since it was Dec. 26, high season, but it was ready and they let us have it! Overlooking the Boardwalk too!

We have never had to wait until 4:00 anywhere. The earliest check-in was at OKW - 10:00 am. We were at the VWL last month and my son switched from a 2 bedroom to a 1 bedroom for his last night, and the room was ready when they checked out of the 2 bedroom at 11:00. They were told a woods view was ready, but a pool view wouldn't be ready until 1:00. With two small children, the woods view was fine. The crib and suitcases were transferred in a matter of minutes. :)

7:30 a.m. at OKW and at SSR.

We stayed one night at the Boardwalk Inn one time and then checked into BWV in the morning. I went to the front desk at 10:00am, no standard rooms ready but we were able to get our keys and everything. So we checked our luggage with bell services and came back later to get our room assignment, probably around 3:00. One good thing about checking in early was that I had requested a high floor (for a better fireworks view), they had assigned us to a first floor. The cm checked what else was available. She said they did have a 4th floor room but said it didn't have a great view. I said OK, better than first floor, it turned out to be perfect, right across from the bus stop, great fireworks view.

We usually fly in early and get to the resorts before noon. We always check in right away. Our earliest time actually into a room was on a Sunday at BWV. Our originally slotted room wasn't ready but they put us into another one with a view of the canal, the quiet pool and Community Hall right away at 10:30 AM. All I wanted to do was sleep because we had been up since 3:00 AM! :rotfl:

It was kinda funny last year we stayed at OKW we had an early flight and were at the resort at about 10:30 I went in to get room keys so we could use the Community hall and the pool. I went in to check-in and was asking about a place to change and the CM said how about your room. I told we were planning on going in now and he said the room was ready. every other time it has been 4:00 or later.

The worst was at BCV and after going to MGM for several hours and being beat from driving down we head back at 5:30 to find that our room was not ready. We sat there for another 30 minutes until our room was ready. It almost ruined the trip but we recovered after a hot shower and some food. The next morning we had ballons and autographed pictures of Mickey and Minnie sent to us by the CM.

I know I've done it by 7 and was told at the time 6 am was the earliest. I'm now told it's based on the computer maintenance thus when all is completed. The info suggested it might be as early as 5 am.

10:00am VWL
I hope we're that lucky in May!!!

We'll be staying at the Dolphin the night before we check into our 1BR at VWL. I'm sending DH over around 9am to check in and see if we could get into our villa. It would be great to get in before 1pm so that our daughter could take her afternoon nap.

If you've stopped at a supermarket and bought perishables (like milk and orange juce), and try to check in early but your room isn't ready yet, will they keep the perishables refrigerated for you?

Yes, they have cold storage. Just be sure to label your bags well. I've never personally used the service, but I've read several reports of people who have, and most have had no problems.
