The "Dumbo or Die" Pre Trip report.. updated 9/5

Everything looks great! I like your comment about having seen and done everyhing by day 8. I'm hoping for this, too! We have 8 park days, 2 waterpark days, and1 day offsite. So I'm hoping we get to see everything at a relexed pace! I'm jealous of your ADR's. Eating in the park/ Disney restaurant didn't ft into our budget this time. But you look like you have some great meals on there. Too bad about Harmony. Maybe they'll have some cancellations and you'll be able to do walk ups while you're there.

We have free dining. Honestly i would prefer 2-3 ADR"s for the whole trip..but I get vetoed by the food loving hubby.. I guess I can allow that lol.

We will def be more relaxed even this time since we know certain things we have no desire to do again ( Ellens' is one..lol) and things we know we want to kwim? we have so much time there. Harmony is def my own fault..oh well..the kids don't seem phased..lol

Declan had his oral surgery today.. he did great. so glad it's over now though. I have to say I am stuck..stuck in Disney-ville. I can do nothing but think about this trip. tomorrow I am packing the kids up to go to the lake for the day just so i can't be near a computer..LOL..

So I just called and spoke to the best CM ever.. she was so super nice. I added a night to our Boardwalk leg of the trip. After much debate we just decided it would be best to have 2 nights at the same resort verses a 3rd resort and more moving around.

I had a few pretty personally traumatic things happen in the past two months or so, and I'm just now (as in, the last four or five days) starting to feel like going to Disney again. I think it happened after I booked our final itinerary at WDW, a split stay at YC and ASSp; I finally started getting back into the spirit. :cool1:

Only bad thing is, I am super busy at work so there's not much time to research and read there, and I don't have internet at my new home yet (this weekend it's installed!), so any reading I'm doing is on my little phone or while I'm connected to my mobile hotspot. Once I get internet, I'm going to be just like you! Have to drag me away from the computer again! :hyper:

I'm very sorry about whatever happen :(... I have a little too much time on my hands because my day job is seasonal and I have the entire summer off...

I love it! I think I am always in the process of planning our next trip.

I think split stays are great, but yes... a thirds resort could be problematic..maybe.

Congratulations!!! When is baby due?

Just got back from an almost 3 mile walk with Taejan ( and Ziah).. Taejan will NOT have a stroller this year and he def needed some work on his stamina. I am proud to say he walked the whole thing ( up hills and down some too) without a single issue!!

So i'm bored..I should be cleaning, or something like that. Instead I decided to run some numbers.

Our trip ( 2 rooms at POFQ water view) 10 nights, 10 day MYW base tickets, 7 people ( 5 "adults" 2 children) was a grad total of $6119.73. Had we taken advantage of a room only discount ( not avail for POFQ so I based this on CBR standard) it would have been $5377.17.

So "Free dining" is costing us $742.56 in "lost discount".. that amounts to $10.61 a day per person. So for 10.61 a day per person we will each each 1 sit down meal, one snack and one counter service.. approx $50-75 worth .. ha ha.. so dining isn't FREE but it is certainly rather cheap!

oh and that doesnt even take into account the drinks with the free refillable mugs.

Wait Alison, you're going to be a gramma? Did I miss something? Who is having a baby??

Congrats, regardless; gotta love babies!

Yep I sure am.. My oldest and his girlfriend ( the smiley girl from the trip last year..the one that was;t his girlfriend at the time of said trip..lol)..

50 days til we leave.. ( or sooner).. I just paid off my moms last bit of the ressie ( she paid for her own flight and park tickets only..).. because I needed it paid off..lol.. I also added early bird to both of their flights. what to do for the next 50 days??

SO after reading the entire 95 page thread on the Boardwalk Inn I really feel like we are going to be way in over our heads..lol. We are going to stick out like sore thumbs!

Do you mean you're worried that you typically stay at values and this is a deluxe?

Disney is the great equalizer. I've stayed at all three levels of hotels at disney (plus some truely upscale hotels around the country and some budget motels that are lucky not to have people sharing bathrooms :rotfl:), and I have seen everybody from every walk of life at all of them. Disney is great that the lady in the Prada and the lady in the Walmart special are both squealing over the same things. My mom was worried about staying at beach club because she is firmly set in the middle class, but it was great and she loved talking to everyone and they were so nice.

Or do you mean it seems like a whole lot more going on at such a busy atmosphere, Again Disney it is the one place where newtimers and veterans both still are amazed by their surroundings. I think you'll have a blast. More stuff offered...well it just means more to do.
