Can't resist a Duggar thread...

One of the things that bothers me about Michelle is she seems much more into quantity of children than anything else. Practically the first words out of her mouth after having the 18th was "we want more." Geez how about just appreciate the one you just had for a few days...

As for Michelle it never fails to amaze me how kind she is to her husband and her kids at all times. That can't be easy. Especially with a spouse. I know people have said she's "brainwashed." I think she must make a conscious decision each day to show patience -- and that must be SO hard!!! I know I couldn't be that nice to my husband 24/7. Sad, but true.

I agree because unfortunately I tend to be more like Kate Gosselin than Michelle Duggar But I am a work in progress!!!!

I don't think they would stop even if they wanted to. There would be no reason to continue the tv show and they would have to say goodbye to the $$$ they get from it. I don't think too many would be interested in watching if she stopped having babies. Some one needs to tell her it's ok to say no.

They didn't have a tv show until this year. I'm reasonably sure they did not have children just to get one, as without a crystal ball or gift of prophecy it would be impossible to predict. They choose to believe that children are a blessing and a gift from God. Of course they're happy when they find out they're going to have a child that is loved and wanted. While I don't think I would have 18 (I nearly died with our 2nd, so was done after that, but we may adopt later) I think it does a tremendous disservice to these children to imply that they were merely pawns to provide their parents with income if, and only if, by a longshot someone someday chose to film them.

If they did a show on me, viewers would probably think it was weird that I am dising all the time and I'm obsessive about planning Disney trips.

I think that statement could be made about quite a few of us.

Or maybe we could pass a law that you are only allowed to have 1 child of each sex.. Two girls? Too bad - you have to get rid of one of them..

Do you get to pick which one goes? Or is there an automatic default of new replaces old?

I will probably never know why discussions about the Duggars bring out such angry feelings in people. They are doing (what they feel) is right and good. People who don't agree, should leave them be. With all the evil crimes and hatred in this World, you cannot tell me this is such a terrible thing. And as far as their forcing the older kids to be "parents" to the younger ones, it wasn't to long ago that many families in our nation had large families so that they would have extra hands to help on the farm. I don't feel that it is wrong for kids to have responsibility of their own. I'm sure we can ALL imagine much worse things they could be doing with their time. (stepping off of soapbox now...)
