My son really, REALLY wants me to ride the Jurassic park ride with him.

And of course he was blessed with a Chicken Mom. :lovestruc

I know there is a big drop, we timed it from watching it on YouTube. Lol. But do you feel like you are going to fall out of your seat? Do you feel like your butt is being lifted up? THATS the feeling I hate.....

Same question regarding The Hulk....do you have that shifting, lifting up feeling?

I know RRR does not have the over the shoulder harness, it's a lap bar.....so I won't ride it.....lol.

Does the Mummy have the over shoulder harness? Or is it a lap bar?

Jurassic Park...nope don't feel like you are out of the seat. It is totally dark, and the drop is very fast. I just really hate the stomach drop feeling, so I have only ridden it once.

Never rode the Hulk, but you have the over the shoulder harness because you do go upside down.

I havent been to US/IOA for RRR.

You're describing negative G's. You don't like them apparently. ;)

JP does not have them. I can't remember if HRRR does, but I'm thinking yes. Mummy does have two of them and uses a lap bar. Hulk has one or two, and uses the over-the-shoulder.

For you I recommend staying away from HRRR for sure--I don't like it either for the vertical lift hill. Once was enough for me.

You may want to avoid Mummy because of the two negative G drops. I LOVE Mummy though, so I want you to try it at least once. As coasters go though, it really is pretty mild. Go on--do it! ;)

There's maybe one or two negative G's on Hulk, but as Melanie mentioned it does invert and is a pretty intense coaster overall. I'd recommend against Hulk for you.

You should be totally fine on JP.

So THAT'S what that's called. So yes. I hate Neg G's. :scared1: :thumbsup2

I think I can ride The Mummy and be ok, though I'm sure there will be a lot of screaming. Lol.

I'm thinking I'll try JP. Though I'm sure I'll threaten a lot of people during that "quick" drop..... :scared1: :rolleyes1

I still have slightly less than 4 months to plan my attack. Lol

On coasters...negative Gs are also known as "air time" which coaster lovers really go for and the more "air time" a coaster has, the more it's loved by the coaster community. ;)

Then......there's me..... popcorn:: :3dglasses

:rolleyes1

As long as my rear is planted firmly in my seat.....then the world is good. :hippie:

To be honest, I HATE that feeling too, the "my-butt-is-flying-off-ahhh-what-am-i-going-to-do?" (lol, thats why i dont ride TOT) and I've been to US a couple of times so if you're like me, heres my input:

Mummy is a must! If I would've have known what it really was the first time I rode it then I probably would've skipped it. While everyone else in our group was riding HRRR (I do NOT ride that one...too much) me and another "cowardly" friend went on Mummy because we thought it was like a dark ride and then whoosh! It was a coaster! Its rougher then BTMR and SM but its not too bad...its actually really fun. I scream too much on that one...

Hulk i won't do. I waited in line with all my friends but that was it!!! Its way too tall (fear of heights) and way to steep! Keep me away!!!

Jurassic Park is a no for me for sure. The thing I hate the most is drops..and that one has a whopping EIGHTY feet drop! I was in line for that one too not knowing what it was and when I saw the video they show in the queue and how bad of a drop it was, I quickly left and waited for everyone else. Ugh i just cant do log flumes!!

Anyway that should hopefully help you a little...I'm terrified of coasters and I really do hate drops but if I don't do Splash M. i will for sure not do JP lol have fun!!!`

NOBODY is a bigger ride chicken then me. I'm petrified of heights, hate drops & can't go upside down. I had to literally have my hands pried off the chains of Pteranadon Flyers! We've been going to Islands since they opened & being a huge Michael Crichton fan & loving the movie, I always wanted so badly to ride River Adventure but that drop scared the living you-know-what out of me! Last November I finally screwed up the courage & did it. The drop was NOTHING compared to what I had feared! I ended up dragging my poor dh on it over & over again until he said not again! I thought he was going to strangle me when I said, "Why didn't you tell me it was no big deal?" :rotfl: Try it. Don't think about it, just do it! :cheer2: I despise Splash Mountain because of the falling out sensation but this ride doesn't have that at all. This year, I'm hoping to work up the courage for HRRR. Maybe next year I can do Dragon Challenge! :scared1: Or maybe not. :rolleyes1

You are way more enclosed on the JP ride than Splash Mountain which makes it easier for me. It's really a lot of fun - do try it!

none of the rides at universal studios hollywood are crazy...they're all mild. i think the only ride that'll shake you is the mummy. but the mummy ride in orlando is more "bumpy."

Howdy neighbor Kasper! ( Houston area here). ;)
Looks like we'll be there about the same time as y'all...21-24, after the "mouse" leg of the trip! And with our youngest three...19-14-11 year old brats at The HRH.

We loved HRRR! The vertical is a bit weird, but not
"too" difficult to handle...Hulk is a blast, but it's seems to us it's gotten rougher over the last 5 years.
If I can get the girls out of Wizard Land, we'll try to hit all the rides!

I'm a complete and utter wimp but have kids who want me to do rides with them (even though they are 15 and 13 :confused3). They "made" me go on JP with them and I couldnt refuse as we were with some family friends who were all going! Well I couldnt believe how tame the drop is - it looks awful but is fine - you feel very secure (i did close my eyes though) Not half as bad as Atlantis at Seaworld. No Ripsaw falls for me though! :lmao:

DH and I love that type of ride, but we've both sworn off JP. The drop is just a bit too much.
