I went to visit friends in Chicago this weekend, and squeezed in the DIS meet, of course I visited DISers ;)

Thanks Brian and Towncrier for going into the city with us in the driving rain to do Navy Peir. It was great fun, and the pizza was awesome....WHere was that from?

Brian do you notice we talk alot???

Thanks to Ellen and Patrick for taking us to Mass, and for suggesting the Zoo...we had a great time, and the kids are still talking about you guys. I think they want to come stay for a few days with you too. Maybe you should become honorary Auntie and Uncle :)

The drive home was horrible though. THank goodness that the good friends more than made up for it.

First we got stuck at a Red Roof in that night with double beds...not a good thing with 5 people. Then we get started and we lost our fuel pump...call AAA, get a tow truck ...get towed...5 hours later and $600 poorer we are on the road again. Get to NY and we blow out our back left tire..Call AAA, get it changed and hour later on the road...with a tempa spare going 50 mph. Got home last night a almost 2 am.

Was it worth it??? YEAH!!!
Those Chicago DISers sure know how to have fun...great seeing everyone, and meeting new people....

Hugs all!!!

SOme pictures to follow...if I can stay awake tonight to post them.

You should have called me. I would have come and rescued you. I'm glad that you finally made it home safely. Thanks for the ride to Chicago and the fun times. See you soon.

The fuel pump went in Ashtabula, Ohio...the tire went just over the NY state border....it was quite a trip. Anytime John, we enjoyed your company! :)

I'm glad you finally made it Glo. :)

Hi Serena!!! I am glad you made it to the meet, as you too had car trouble!!!

I was very happy to meet you! :)

Wow, that was some ride home, glo. Glad you made it. Nice to see you again, along with the girls and Phil also.

Holy smackerollie!!!! Bad luck, and worse luck.... ack!!!!

Sorry to hear about that, Ms. Glo... but very glad that you did have such a good time while there! Some great ones there!

:) :) :)

Ack! I hate having car trouble on road trips (or any trip for that matter). So glad you made it home safely. Sounds like you had a great time (other than the car trouble).

The kids had a great time...I think they were way to spoiled :) I do need to learn to sleep while I am in Chicago...I seem to stay up way to late while I am there....

You are so right SSB!! BUT where were you??? This meet needed the infamous SSB ;)

Soon dear buddy!!! You will have more of us than you want...the first Foster is on me:)

My folks just sold their house in Ashtabula (after trying for two years). I know the area well. Which Red Roof Inn did you end up stopping at?

It was very nice to meet you too glo, I wish I were able to get there sooner, I would have loved the chance to talk to you more. :)

AAA is great aren't they. :)

yikes, Glo! It almost sounds like you were driving MY car, or sumpin' which, incidently, did not have a single problem for once!

Glad you made it home safe and sound :)

It would be our pleasure. I am not sure who had more fun at the zoo, me or the kids:p
I am glad you guys finally made it home :)

The kids thought that one up...though they think that an Uncle should be an adult....not another kid. I still have not stopped Angela from doing noises...and Katerina thinks it is hysterical and giggles. Kassie thought that you were a big kid, but that Ellen was a cutie, and a saint for putting up with you...gee I think I have heard that before.

Phil was just glad that someone else was entertaining for a change....lol. We were both very grateful for all the help and entertainment you both provided. The kids loved you guys!!!!

They think you should come visit us :)
Or I can ship them to visit you guys anytime ;)

OH NO!!!! Miss Glo!!! If by chance you took the Ohio Turnpike, you drove a mere 5 miles from my house. I hope you waved as you drove by. ;)

Bonnie??? Is that I-90?? We went I-90 and broke down in Ashtanbula...spelling???

Anyway, wish I had known...would have waved HI!!!!

Criminy! Yes Glo! If I had realized, we could have had lunch or dinner or something! I am about 30 miles east of Toledo, Ashtabula is quite a ways from me, probably about 2-1/2 hours or so. From now on, all of you heading west on the Ohio Turnpike for these Chicago meets have two choices: either stop and pick me up, or at least stop for lunch or something!

If there is ever another time I am crazy enough to attempt driving to Chicago...I will pick you up Bonnie!!! We picked up Towncrier this time around, of course I would have for you too.....

Though after this trip, I think flying is the only way to go ;)
