Sorry to disappoint you, but our Disney Store isn't all that great any more unless you have young children. DH used to be able to do all his Christmas shopping there but now complains that he has to actually plan ahead now because our store is nothing but kids stuff. ;) The worst thing is that our local store lost some of the wonderful cast members that we enjoyed visiting with when The Children's Place took over.

There is at least one other DISer in Madison so maybe we'll have to organize a meet or something. What brings you to town - NASA or Army? ;)

We're down in the Dothan area now, so the Madison/Huntsville area seems very cosmopolitan to us ;). Sorry to hear that your Disney Store isn't that great anymore. I'm hoping that they will get better after the new Children's Place management gets their own merchandise in place.

ROFL... let's see... moving from Dothan to Madison :teacher: ... the correct answer would be box #2... Army  It would be great to meet up with some DISers after the move.

No advice really. We live in HSV also, and have always gone thru ATL way.
Can't remember, but I think 11 hr was how long it took last time.

go through Atlanta take I-75 to orlando, but slow down through Byron, GA. They will stop you. It took me 9.5 hours from Birmingham to WDW and that includes the speeding ticket. :guilty:

We live near the Southern Bypass/Hyw 231 exhange here in Montgomery. We left here about 6:00 am in November and pulled in at CSR at about 3:30pm our time here. We had about a 45 minute break in Ariton for breakfast and an hour break for lunch at Lake City. We took about two rest stop breaks before lunch and two afterwards.
It takes us about and hour and a half at tops (heavy traffic) from our door to the University Blvd/8th Ave. N exit downtown in B'ham.
We were luckier this time since our kids are older, but even with younger kids in '97 and splitting the time up over night at Lake City then, I think it still only ran us about the same time.
Hope that helps.

I got my tickets thru Delta from B'ham for $95!! :cool1:

How did you get such a great price. I searched FOREVER and couldn't find anything below $200.

Just did the trip in January from Pell City and went the Dothan route and it took 10 hours with 3 kids. I stay around the speed limit. I think 70 is fast enough! I may go 3 mph over in any give zone but I am relatively close to the speed limits.

Now towing the camper is another story...........14 hours!!!!!!!!

Next trip we will try the Hwy 280 route. We've done the Atl route and hated it and won't ever do it again. Besides you are travelling due east and not in a southerly direction at all so why go that way?

Oh, have fun!
