On the way to POTC, at the bridge, is a stairway going up to the Dream Suite, I think. Can someone fill me in on this?? Can you actually rent it and stay INSIDE DL all night long (not riding on rides, but in the suite with the windows/doors open at 2am??)... I have to admit I'm intrigued, not that I'd ever be able to stay there!

It will probably be noisy at 2am when the park is getting ready for the next day.

Usually you have to win a contest, Disney or third party, to stay in there.

I don't know if I could sleep in DL! I would just want to stay up all night! :lmao:

Me too! Remember the commercial-I'm too excited to sleep!

Also after reading the Kingdom Keepers books, I'd so want to go out and check out the park after it closes. Not that I'm worried about the characters coming to life or anything. Just would be fun to have the place to myself, even if the rides aren't running.

Well, you and the 1,000s of cast members that are working to get the Park ready for the next morning. :goodvibes

It was converted from the art gallery to a suite after the 50th, for the "year of a million dreams" promotion. They gave out one night stays at random for a year. The current Alaska air sweepstakes is the first time I've heard about the suite in a while.

I really miss the gallery being up there. It was such a great, quiet out of they way spot.

From what I recall when one of the contests was described a couple of years ago, they assign a CM to be outside your door all night. You're not allowed out into the park until just before opening the next morning.

Of course, my recollection may be fuzzy :hippie:

Bob is right from what I heard, that is what a CM told me when I asked recently. He said he didn't think anyone had really stayed there since the Million Dreams promotion. He mentioned he thought that you were free leave the room as long as you had a chaperone with you. But as far as really roaming the park in the middle of the night, I don't know about that, I would guess it's more what Bob described.

I think that roaming around DL at night with all the workers there would ruin the magic, kinda like watching how a movie is made, which I never do.

One of our members won a stay in the Dream Suite, well her DD won it actually....hopefully she will see this and come give a quick report on how it works. :) I know she's said before but I don't really remember, plus it's really amazing to hear it from her directly. :)

:hippie: I'm here!! Can't post "Dream Suite" without me being drawn in!! :rotfl:

We stayed here for the promo in 2008. They gave us an after hours tour but my kids were so so tired that we had to beg off early (soooo sad here). They have a camera outside the front door so no one was allowed entry except us. We were to ring the doorbell and step back and wave at the camera. There was someone 'with us' all night outside the suite in a back hallway. They were basically just babysitters to make sure we stay put and safe. They locked the balcony at night so we couldn't go out there after the park closed. (Total bummer!)

DH and I chose to sit on the patio for a good portion of the evening. We were SO SO tired from Disney and that whole day was a whirlwind of parade/signing documents/etc. We crashed HARD at about one AM. I so wish we'd been able to just muster through and stay awake all night!! They had fireflies like from POTC up on the deck and piped the clarinet music from the bayou. It was soooo so amazing. DH's prized possessions are a pen from the dream suite and the slippers they gave us. His are getting worn out. I may gift him mine because I've just saved them. :lovestruc

As far as staying there NOW, I have no idea. If they do it I know they'd have someone in the back hallway to monitor. They wouldn't allow anyone on the deck after hours..you'd be locked in :goodvibes The good news is, it's not a bad place to be held captive :lmao:

Also, you can hear tarzan ALL NIGHT in the bathroom of the master bedroom hahaha. Scared the crud outta me when I went potty in the middle of the night til I remembered

So, no constipation problems, huh? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Thanks for the report, Emmers! What a thrill it must be to win a night in the Dream Suite!

Oh Bob! I totally just gafawed loudly... because I originally had written "crap" HAHAHAHHA I thought better of it, but should've gone even more safe :lmao::lmao::lmao:

I'm happy to report I didn't ACTUALLY soil myself. :rotfl2:

It really was just so amazing. I still don't believe it really happened. We bought the POTC soundtrack just so we could remember it more clearly. It's my happy place :goodvibes

YAY!!!!! I knew you'd pop in and report. :) And I did remember it was you, but just in case you didn't want to say anything I didn't post your s/n :)

Aw, you're so considerate :goodvibes

I'm totally up for reporting on the Dream Suite LOL. It's one of those things that people 'in real life' don't 'get'. Only people who love Disneyland like we do understand how cool it is.

And those of us who weren't lucky enough to win can't get enough of hearing you talk about it! :) Such an amazing experience!

omg I have never in my life gotten seriously mad for winners of any contest before the YOMD or since...but i swear on all that is holy, when it came to that Dream Suite I had a cow:rotfl2:..i think i went that entire year, every other month for a minimum of 3 days in the park but usually it was 4 days...and the most i ever got was the ears...not even a stinking FP...and then during the parade when they picked the family that got to stay in the DS, I would see them looking kind of bored or not excited and it used to TICK ME OFF...so many times I would scream out...would you smile???? You get to stay in the DS!!!!! I would have fallen to my knees and cried like a baby had i won:lmao:

We won the FP's once.....on a day we were leaving so we couldn't even use them all......lol

ROFL! I was in too much shock. It all happened so so fast. We were smiling and waving like fools tho, I promise you that hahahaha

I asked if they'd seriously had someone say 'no' when they asked if you accept. The guy said "You'd be surprised"
