Sailing on the Dream soon. Did you feel the ship rocking more than usual? My partner is prone to motion sickness and getting anxious about being that far forward.
I get motion sickness, even when I take Bonine and wear seabands. On our last 2 cruises I used ginger candy and I never felt ill. We even sailed through rough seas with the ship rocking really hard and I was fine. I still used the Bonine, but felt like the addition of ginger candy really helped.
I’m the same - cars are awful for me but I’m fine on the ship. The movement in different areas of the ship is negligible. You would have to hit some serious waves to tell any difference. Has your partner been a cruise ship before? I find that the motion is completely different from something like a car ride or a roller coaster. My oldest gets extremely motion sick in cars but has no issues on the ship.
I start with the medication of choice the night before boarding. That way it is well into your system, then I take another dose a couple of hours before the ship departs. After that, I usually go down to the health center on board where they have a bowl of free motion sickness pills available, and stock up for me and our traveling party for the rest of the cruise.Sailing on the Dream soon. Motion illness is an unavoidable part of cruising for some, but prepare mentally, and go with the tide and enjoy the ride!
