Where should I look for a decent swimsuit? I need a new one, and I hate shopping for them. I usually end up drinking heavily after a day of trying them on. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Oh..I'm going through this now. Only I want to wait a bit..because naturally I'm on a diet. Walking two miles a day...trying to get in shape for our May trip. In any case...Try LandsEnd.com They have great suits. I ordered one a few years back..and it's still in great shape. I'm just looking for something new this time. All shapes, sizes, and styles. I think they also are carried in some Sears stores..but you won't ever find them on sale like the other suits. Also the catalog has a much better selection. Check it out..you won't be sorry.

I can relate and I did have a few beers after swimsuit shopping this year :drinking1 . I ordered some separates from Lands End. They have lots of separates that you can mix & match. I ordered online, but a lot of Sears stores carry them as well. They have swimskirts, which I like since they cover more than a regular swim suit bottom. Baby #3 was born 5 months ago and I have not lost all of the weight yet, so it was a particularly depressing season for shopping.

Good luck!

I ordered the tankini the last time. It has swim shorts for a bottom. I wondered how the swim skirts might be. The swim short tankin is great. As the shorts are a super light..dry by the time you are getting out of the pool type of material...with a regular panty liner underneath. Honestly..I .will probably get another one in different color. You don't even need a bathing suit cover up with it. I've worn mine around the yard..and house..and it's like you are wearing shorts. I've seen people walking at the track in them also. I love the lands end suits. They wear like iron...and look great.

I went swimsuit shopping with my daughter last month. She had not bought a bathing suit in several years because she couldn't find one she liked, but found several at Macy's that she loved and bought two. They had a good selection and the styles are much more flattering than in recent years. Now I have to go try my luck! A little harder to find at 60+, but at least I care a little less about looking good!:rotfl2:

I have had great luck with Land's End, particularlt their Faille line of tankinis. The fabric is a bit firmer I guess and really holds you in with out showing any bumps and wrinkles. Also, the tankini is much better than a one piece. These particular tankinis, the top and bottom overlap, so it is like two layers holding in your tummy.:lmao:

I have been wondering the same thing!!! I need one this year also! It is a shame they cost so much, but I may give the Lands End one a try. They have the one with the tie on the side(that looks pleated in front) and it looks so cute! They have it in a fushia color, which is my favorite!!!

Another vote for Land's End! LOVE their swimsuits - and they wear very well. I purchased a tankini after my son was born, and it's still going strong. The catalog has a great selection, but you can always try on at Sears to get an idea.

A FYI, their "long" is really long! If you're going to be drinking anyway (lol!), grap a measuring tape and figure out your size that way. I ordered the size I "thought" I would wear, and the top was too small and the bottom was too big. We're usually our own worst enemies, and I was way off of my sizes. Measure yourself (there are directions on their website), and you should get a perfect fit!

Good luck!

Does Lands End have bathing suits for those of us who are overly blessed on top?

They sell D cup suits. I find that I can fit better in the High Necked suits. Not all suits come in D cup in regular size - but if you go up to a woman's plus size they are all D-cup(or so I was told)
They also now have a custom create area where you can pick everything from leg height to cup size on your suit.*the colors are limited right now but for those hard to find sizes I think it is a great option.
I have to order mine today!!! Choices...and overnight it by the way.

I've had really good luck with LL Bean suits. I'm overly blessed on top and have found they have suits with good support.

I have not bought any suits other than from Lands End for a few years now. They hold up so well, they cover so well and they have such a great variety to choose from. I have gotten great, great deals by watching their overstocks section - especially right now they have a many to pick from, mostly styles that they sold last year that they are no longer carrying. You can do especially well with the seperates, buying one size on bottom and one size for the top if you need to. I don't think I have ever paid full price for one of their suits because I just keep watching what they put on the overstocks - its great!

If I could get away with just a D cup I would be a happy woman!

I ordered this as well but ended up sending it back. DH said I looked like a Grandma which I won't mind being called when I am a Grandma but not in my 30's.

Guess what I'm doing now..going to Lands End again and picking out some different colors. I actually liked the suit I think it was more the colors I picked that made me look look older. Good luck all!!!!

Swimsuitsforall.com is a great site, especially if you need a little (or a lot) of room ;) I've ordered from there before and they have some great sales and they come in all different sizes.

LOL.. I right with you! I am down to an 36 F (stopped nursing about 4 months ago) and that is in Fantasie Brand (my favorite!) which is European size, so I think thats a US size G- yikes! I noticed that Lands End said it would fit up to D, and I wondered if I'd have a problem!
If anyone is interested, I got a free shipping coupon code for Land's End with no minium purchase.. it can only be used 2 times
