The dreaded swim suit

OOOH ME ME!!! I Need a free shipping code! I have a huge order sitting there right now waiting to be shipped.
And the funny thing is I am a Fantasie brand wearing girl too! But now I guess that means I am a G! YIKES (me too on the nursing stopped about 4 months ago too)

LOL.. too funny! I PM'd you the code.. funny about the bra's,.. I always order from Breakout Bra's http://breakoutbras.stores.yahoo.net/n they are great, free shipping, and when you order, you get a 10% off your next purchase.. They are pretty cheap too!

if 1 other person wants the free ship lands end code you can have it, I will not be using it and it can be used twice.

I'll put a shout out for www.newport-news.com. I get all my suits from there. I'm pretty lucky in that I have an easy body to fit - but that wasn't always the case. They have lots of styles and shapes and best of all they are INEXPENSIVE!! I just cannot stand spending $100 for two scraps of fabric - Newport News suits run $10-$40, plus they have lots of matching sarongs and coverups too. Good luck!

I used to do collections for Newport News and I would be careful with ordering from them. They had some serious issues with quality, customer service, return policies, etc. They may have cleared those issues up, but I personally would stay away from them.

If I could get away with just a D cup I would be a happy woman!

Okay, I am a DDD cup, but the rest of me is average size-I say this cause these manufactureres seem to think if your a bit busty, then you must be large in the waist and butt-they need to get with the program. Anyway, I have found some really nice suits at www.cyberswim.com. I've tried cramming the old girls into a D cup suit and it never works...I get that third 'girl" in the center then. Ugh! :rotfl2:

Thanks for the heads up and I agree to a point. Although, I cant imagine calling to complain about the quality of a $10 swimsuit. Of course it's not a good quality - it's only 10 bucks! I think it is all how you look at it.....I look at swimsuits as almost a disposable item - if you live in a seasonal location, you wear a suit only like 10 times in a year anyway.

I love the Lands End suits. They have so many options and they really do flatter, even after 2 kids and recently stopping nursing.

2 heads up on LE:
1) you can set up a virtual model to try on clothes. Plug in all your stats and start trying on! It's remarkable how well this works. If you have Sears, you can try on for real, but it really helps to narrow down the selections.

2) If you have a Lands End shop in your Sears, you can order from in the store and receive free shipping to your home. Very cool, but only available at select Sears. I feel lucky to have several nearby here in MA. Here is the list.

Just a quick heads-up if you have a Kohl's nearby, and feel as though you need to try on a suit. They have a big sale on bathing suits, with extra off today and tomorrow. I found a GREAT suit, which was actually flattering to this overweight grandma. It was originally $84, but I got it for about half price after the discounts (and my extra senior discount). They had some really cute ones for different body types, and a good many mix and match ones. So it might be worth a look.

I'm so glad you mentioned this..my daughters birthday is on Thursday..and she wanted a new suit for our May Disney trip. I love Lands End myself..but honestly, the child is going to be all of 20..and could probably wear a piece of string and look good. (I remember those days!)Ahh..to be young. I was planning to stop off on my way home from work tomorrow for some gifts..and I pass a kohls. She told me to go there..because she already bought the cutest Nike suit for her swimming class. She wanted something more stylish for the trip.(but no string!..thank goodness she covers up more than that!) I will check it out.:thumbsup2

Lands End now has custom suits, up to size 18, cup size A thru D, underwire or soft cup bra choice, and I think long torso. Nothing in plus sizes for custom, if you need that, and the fabrics do not look to match with any of their regular suits.

FYI, Land's End has some wonderful deals on overstocks right now! I just ordered one of their 'Control SwimMini' skirted bottoms (regularly $52), for $14.99. They had reduced pricing on numerous tankini tops and bottoms available in a wide range of sizes.

and on the cover they state up to DD. We went out to dinner so I didn't get a chance to look at it but I definately will over the weekend. I love all their things. The prices are a little bit high but the quality is generally very good. The swimsuits do not stretch out of shape and are a little bit more sturdy so I don't feel I jiggle as much.
