Disneyland - Hotel Question

We're headed to Disneyland next month for the first time in a decade. Trying to decide if staying at the Park Vue Inn which is across the street is worth an extra $1,000 in hotel costs.

Looking at maybe staying at the Sheraton Garden Grove, which will be on the new Shuttle line and is half the price.

Anyone else stayed a ways out from the parks?

I'm a fan of staying in Garden Grove and saving the money, personally. The benefits of Park Vue Inn is that it is extremely close and very easy to just walk across the street if you need something from your room during the day or even if you just want to head back to charge your phone. I usually won't go back to the room for anything when staying in Garden Grove.
