I'm struggling to reconcile it with the DIS I've been visiting since 2002! I mean, not to scare the sensitive ladies and gents on the forum, but seriously? You missed the days of the political board. Raise your hands if you remember "the good ole' days" where the DIS included political discourse and, pool hopping, refillable mugs, value vs. deluxe, making a salad out of the toppings bar at Pecos Bill's, boys in the ladies' room, and OMG - circumcision battles!

The DIS has been (in the 12 years I've been here) a place to discuss Disney (amongst other things). That encompasses ALL of Disney, not just the pixie dust parts. Please, for the love of all things holy, stop talking about how the DIS "used to be." Like everything else, it really didn't used to be that way. People have always expressed varying opinions about Disney. I don't see this changing in the next 12 years (or any other amount of time). If the stuff on an internet message board is so negative you are honestly getting depressed about an upcoming vacation, don't read it. Use other methods to plan your trip. Disney has been ingenious in creating their "Disney Mom's Panel." Those ladies don't drink the kool-aid, they have an IV drip! After speaking with one of them, you will be so excited, you won't be able to stop yourself from packing!

While I understand the desire to cut down of the volume of FP+ threads, FP+ and FP before it are too integral to Theme Park Attractions and Strategies for that to ever happen. Mods have been peppered with requests like this for months and there has been no change.

In effort to respond to all, let's see...

1. It seems, in MHO, that Mods are not as quick to shut a thread down like they used to be. Not sure if it is because they agree, they are ignoring it, or they don't care. No offense.

2. The good ol' days of the DIS... yes. They are different. Mods shut down or regulated the infamous "credit card hold" ADR threads just recently because it was too repetitive. They were quick to say things were not informative so it's shut down.

3. Passionate...I am very much so. But, I agree with both sides. Yes, you should be able to come here and complain. But, once you've complained for 3 straight months, on a variety of posts, not just one, and you argue with people because they don't see it like you, you've negated your point. You should be able to come here and point out out there are too many posts about complaints, you should be able to without the same 60% of people complaining trashing you.

4. As I said earlier, I send people here to read. But, when they tell me it's not informative, just miserable, then maybe something is not cool anymore.

Maybe there should be a FP gripe thread only. And a praise thread only. Meanwhile, I'm going next week. I plan on my 3 FP per day, my strolls with a Dole Whip, a jalapeño margarita, a turkey leg, or a Starbucks, my hand in my DH's hand, and my cellphone to Facebook being the things that really concern me. Oh, and the Olympics on a TV somewhere. That's a new post! !
