The Double-and-a-half Trippie ** COMPLETED **

I really want to finish this TR... and I gotta do it fast. Because we're going back to Disney in April, and since my sister & her friend are unemployed, Grumpy & I are footing the whole bill. So I got a 2nd job for a couple months to make some extra cash and I think I'm going to have, oh, about 33mns of "spare time" a day for the next 2 1/2 months or so.

But it's for Disney, so it's worth it !!! :cheer2:

It took us a long, long time to get moving the next morning.
Because we're OLD people.

Grumpy was awake before me and went to get her coffee at the food court. When she was gone I forced myself out of bed and got cleaned up. She went to the pool while I just chilled in the room and caught up on some work.

We had a lunch ADR at Kona for 1pm - barely made it - and then I wanted to go back to Epcot.

Kona was great as usual. Grumpy likes to pretend she goes there for the teriyaki steak salad.. and she does like that salad a lot... but she's truly there for THIS :

Chocolate Macadamia Pie. About 28,764 calories per ounce.

To tell you the truth, I was still on autopilot that day. We took the monorail to Epcot and it didn't even occur to me that arriving at 3pm in Epcot on a Saturday during Food & Wine Festival was a recipe for disaster.
We'd been spoiled with low crowds and short wait times ever since we got to AKL, but today was VERY different.

Soarin' - NO FPs - Wait Time : 120mns
Test Track - NO FPS - Wait Time : 70mns

Since we didn't know what else to do, and because I like Ellen DeGeneres, we went to see Universe of Energy. Even if it was boring, it'd keep us busy for 45mns.

Turns out, we really liked it. Grumpy doesn't know who Ellen is, but she thought she was funny. The ride itself was pretty cool, a little on the loud side but nothing unbearable.

One thing bugged me to no end though. Who the heck was that actress ?? You know, the one who plays Stupid Judy. I knew she was in My Girl. And I knew her name was something like Jenny Something Somebody.
As soon as we left the ride I went to find a CM. The first one I found couldn't remember either - she had it on the tip of her tongue and it started bugging her, too, so she called over another CM.
"What's the name of the....."
"Jamie Lee Curtis."

Apparently, I was not the first person to ask her that today :headache:

Because we couldn't think of anything else to do in Future World, we went towards World Showcase, stopping at Grumpy's favorite smoking area. She's not too bad with the smoking thing while we're at WDW - mostly because she's way too busy to think about cigarettes. But every once in a while she asks to stop for a smoke and I don't fight it.

Besides, they had cool Ratatouille posters in that area :)

IMG_3008.jpg

World Showcase was even more packed than Future World. Grumpy stopped in Mexico and stood in line for 20mns just to get a Fiesta Margarita....

IMG_3010.jpg

IMG_3012.jpg

I've never seen Epcot that busy. Give me Christmas week crowds any day vs Saturday at F&W. We didn't go any further than Norway before we gave up and turned around.

After a stop at MouseGear, we decided to leave and go over to MK so we could see Spectro and Wishes. It was about 5pm.

MK seemed almost QUIET after Epcot. Even better, the wait times were all under 30mns. We got FPs for Splash, did Haunted Mansion and PhilarMagic again. Then we went back to the castle to get a spot for the parade and fireworks. Our perfect seats from last night were taken, so we sat on the floor next to a bench.

Grumpy wanted pop corn (to soak up the margarita, I guess) and she went to search for it. I totally forgot to tell her she might get stuck behind a rope. And stuck she got. It took her almost 40mns to come back from getting her pop corn and I was starting to think she'd never find her way back. The area was getting seriously busy.

She made it back about 5mns before Spectro started.

I hate and love Spectro at the same time. I love it because it's so pretty and I really enjoy the music. I hate it because we've seen it at least 4 times and we can never find a good spot or take a good pic.

These three are the best I got that night... just to give you guys an idea.

IMG_3031.jpg

After Spectro we stayed put and waited for Wishes. Just as Wishes started, the three people who'd been sitting on the bench got up... and stood up on the bench, blocking a lot of people's view. What the heck did they need to stand up for ?! They had the best seats in the house. The fireworks are up in the air, and they didn't even have anybody standing in front of them.

Some people behind us yelled at them to sit down, but they either didn't hear them through the fireworks and music, or just ignored them.

I sat back on the floor and managed to get a few decent shots

Wishes was gorgeous. I loved Hallowishes, but nothing makes me tear up as easily as Wishes.
Even when I just watch the video at home, like I'm doing right now, it's hard not to get a little sappy.

After Wishes, everyone was heading out, but Grumpy and I headed to Frontierland. We rode Splash with our FPs, Big Thunder Mountain (I *love* this ride at night!!!), and then Splash again without FPs. The line was non-existent.

My favorite memory of that night was during our 2nd time on Splash. Just as we were going to go down the big drop, I noticed that the 2nd SpectroMagic was going on in Liberty Square. The view from up there was just spectacular. I could see the Spectro floats with the lighted castle in the background. And all I could think was, gosh, I don't ever want to leave.

Of course it only lasted a second or two before I was brought back down to reality with a huge splash of ice cold water!!

Since Spectro was going on, it was about 11pm and we still had an hour. I was NOT ready to go home.

We rode Pirates of the Carribean that had no wait at all, and then I insisted on doing Jungle Cruise because I'd read here it was much better at night.

It was HILARIOUS ! Our skipper was telling so many jokes I couldn't remember any of them, but we were in stitches for the whole ride. I don't think we'll ever do that ride in the daytime again.

The park was almost empty when we finally left, but the bus stop was mobbed. I parked my butt on a bench and told my mom I was not standing in that line. I'll just wait for the next bus. Now that I think of it, the POP bus stop is so far anyway, we should have just walked accross the street to the Contemporary and got a cab from there. But it didn't occur to me at the time.

Grumpy said she'd stand in line and I could join her whenever a bus came. I told her no way, it's not something that people do here and I'm going to get yelled at. She could stand in line and get in a packed bus if she wanted, but I was going to wait for the masses to go and then get on a non-crowded bus, thank you very much.

Except people kept coming and the line was just getting bigger and bigger. So I had to get up and get in there if I wanted to go back to POP before Christmas.

About half way through the line, Grumpy motioned to me to go under the ropes and join her. I said no. She gave me a look that I hadn't seen in a long, long time, it's Grumpy's trademarked "I mean business" look and I told her I'd "try" after people got on the bus. We were not going to make it in that one anyway.
She waited for me there, let a bunch of people go in front of her, and then I went under the ropes and met her. OF COURSE, two persons told me "the line was back there" as I had expected it. Grumpy told them she'd been in that line, and she'd just let about 20 people go in front of her in the bus. They said "sure" and I thought Grumpy was going to get really nasty with them but I told her to let it go and NEVER make me do that again. I *hate* confrontations. This is not DLP. We don't cut in line here.

In the end that was not even an issue, because not one, not two, but three POP buses had arrived and everyone would get on.

We got seats and a lady sat next to us with a sleeping child, a huge bag and a folded stroller. I offered to hold her stroller because the little girl could barely stay seated without her mom holding her, she was so out. I figured, that was my redemption for cutting in line :)
I chatted with the lady and didn't realize my foot had fallen asleep. When we got to POP, I told her I'd take the stroller down and wait for her outside. But when I went down the stairs, I couldn't feel my foot OR the floor under it and
I yelped as my leg collapsed under me. Good thing a guy reached and grabbed my hand before I fell to the floor. All I could do was say "thank you" and laugh.

NOT a good night for the turkey. I'm self conscious as it is, and already embarassed when I'm standing upright... so I really hate falling down in front of a crowd :rotfl:

My mom of course thought it was hilarious. We helped the lady with her stroller and sleeping little girl, and she showed us a shortcut to our building - we didn't know we could cross the parking lot. It was a lot shorter this way and I wished we'd known about it earlier!

It was past 1am when we got back to our room, and despite the line cutting/collapsing incident, it had been a really great night.

We were supposed to go back to MK the next morning to do a few more rides and have breakfast at Crystal Palace, but I wasn't sure we'd make it. Grumpy said she didn't want to because she'd done all the rides she wanted to do tonight. I decided to wait until the next morning to decide. Unfortunately, we both slept through our ADR. We didn't wake up 'til 10am the next day, and had to rush because we needed to be out of the room by 11. Good thing we'd packed before going to Epcot the day before!

I called Luggage Services and they came to get our luggage. Since I was going to Tampa, for once I could use the Airline Check-In service. Even better, I didn't have to worry about my bags anymore.

We had a last lunch at POP's food court and then went to catch our bus to the airport. :sad1:
Grumpy and I were together on the flight to Miami, then I had purposely gotten a ticket on the latest possible flight to Tampa - 10.45pm. I wanted to be sure Grumpy's flight had left before I went on my way.

After Grumpy's flight left - on time - I crossed the airport and went to wait for my own flight. I was a little sad, because I was by myself, and because we had left Disney...

But not THAT sad.

Because I knew that in six weeks to the day, I'd be back at the Happiest Place on Earth !

Not quite done yet :) Still have the solo half-trip and our Christmas week to write about. Woohoo!!!
Jessi (my sister) has never been to Florida. She's been in NYC a few times but that's it. Alex (sister's friend) has never been to the US, ever.
Maybe I'll do a short pre-trippie for April if I have time to "introduce" our new sidekicks :cutie: and tell the story of our last disaster trip :scared1:

We're going in two months and one week. Too bad we aren't going at the same time. We could meet up.

:sad1: I'm only going to miss you by 1 week !! Where are you staying ? Maybe I can leave some goodies for you guys :dance3:

Great update!

But does this mean no Christmas trip report? Say it ain't so!

Thanks :) No I'll still do the Christmas TR, it's just going to take me a lot longer; hopefully I'll have it done before we leave.

We hope you have time to start your Christmas report! I think it's great that you guys are taking your friends.:) Hope to here more from you soon.:wave2:

:wave2: I can't wait for them to experience WDW and SeaWorld. It'll be even better than usual :cloud9:

Exactly 41 days later, I was in Clearwater packing up my stuff before going back to the Happiest Place on Earth for my very first SOLO trip !

Around 10pm my friend had dropped me off at my motel. I had packed all of my clothes earlier that day and all I needed to do was clean up my room and put things back where they belong (I tend to move every thing around when I stay at this place). And I wasn't tired at all so I watched some TV, enjoying my last opportunity to see American TV for a while (who watches TV at Disney???).

I must have dozed off or something, and next thing I knew it was 2am. The shuttle to the airport was coming to get me at 6 and my room looked like a hurricane went through.

"Airport???". Yep. Even though Tampa Bay is roughly an hour and a half away from Orlando, I was taking a plane. Well, two, actually. I couldn't find any shuttle to take me to Orlando, and didn't want to spend 4 hours on a bus. There are, of course, no direct flights from Tampa to Orlando, so I was going to Fort Lauderdale first THEN on another flight to Orlando.

My wacky itinerary gave the motel owner a good laugh when I came to print boarding passes the day before. Thank God for the DIS! I had no idea Southwest had changed the boarding procedures. I got lucky and had A41 on my first flight and A17 on the second one.

So, anyway, it was 2am and I still had to clean. Nothing in the world stresses me more than being rushed. As I was picking up the drinking glasses to wash them, one of them slipped and crashed to pieces on the floor.
I started to pick it up and cut my hand. That piece of glass must have been mighty sharp because soon I was bleeding like crazy all over the place. And I had NOTHING - no neosporin, no band aid. I wrapped my hand in TP but blood kept coming through.

So I had no choice but to walk the 14 blocks to the closest 7-11. When I got outside, it was drizzling. Nothing bad, I've gotten used to FL drizzle.
I was halfway to the store when the skies opened and it started pouring. Well, I'm halfway there (oo---ooo livin on a prayer) so, might as well finish, get my stuff, and wait inside for the rain to stop.
I finally get to 7-11, soaked....

....

and the store is dark.

I yelled and cursed and kicked and cursed some more. But that didn't help any :) So I walked back in the rain to my motel. When I got back, not only was it still pouring, there was also thunder and a LOT of wind.
Now I was soaked to the bone and my clothes were too wet to be put in my bags with the rest of my stuff. They had to get washed and dried again. Thankfully the motel provides guests with a coin laundry but only gives change during the day. So I had to walk in the rain for a couple blocks where I got quarters at the car wash.

Back at the motel I got into a dry shirt (felt like Heaven!) and dumped all my stuff in the machine. And enjoyed a very, very hot bath...
Just after I'd gotten my clean dry clothes from the dryer, I started to clean. The wind was very, very strong outside and it was still raining hard.

What happens on the island when there's a lot of thunder, wind and rain ?
The power goes out, that's what.

Off and on for the next 2 hours. I managed to finish packing and clean up a little bit. At 5.50am, I started bringing my bags downstairs.

I don't travel light. Already had 2 big duffle bags, a carry-on suitcase and my laptop case when I got there. And now I had another duffle on top of that. It had stopped raining, but the stairs were still very wet and slippery so I could only take 1 bag down at a time.

First one, the biggest, the one that has ALL my clothes in it. I take it downstairs and look for a place to drop it. Everything is wet, so I put it behind the staircase and go back up to get the rest.
When I get to the stairs with the 2nd duffle, my shuttle is here. The guy comes upstairs to help me and brings down the other two duffles. I get my carry-on and laptop.

We get into the car, go to Largo to pick up another person and finally are on our way to Tampa.

Just as we get on the bridge, oh, five minutes away from the airport....

"Oh, NO!!!!"

The first bag is still waiting behind the staircase.:headache:

:( Sorry you got such a poor start-I've always been boggled by how hard it is to get from point A to point b in Florida is you don't rent a car.

"Oh, NO!!!!"

The first bag is still waiting behind the staircase.

OMG ~ On top of everything else that happened that night!!! :scared1:
What a start to your trip! No wonder you had a :headache: I do hope everything got better soon!

I was panicking, big time. At first all I thought was "Now we have to go back.", then it occured to me I wasn't in a regular shuttle, but a normal car (because there were only 2 persons to pick up the driver got a car instead of a van). How much would they charge me to go back to the island and then back to the airport ? I had $50 on me. And finally it occured to me that the bag may not even be there when we got back. If we got back.

Oh, brother....

A couple days ago putting all of my clothes in the same bag had seemed like a bright idea. I wouldn't need to even open the 2 other bags, which is a good thing when you plan a four-resort-split-stay.
Now ? Not so much. I'm Pooh sized, a very self conscious Pooh sized at that, and it's not easy finding clothes in an emergency that I will fit into AND feel comfortable wearing in public.

We got into the airport and dropped the lady at her airline counter. The driver made me go and check the trunk just in case the bag was in it. Of course, it wasn't.
He realized that I was about two seconds away from bursting in tears and he was extremely nice. He was going off shift, he said, and he'd take me back for $30 round-trip if I could pay him in cash. I would have hugged the guy, but I was worried he'd change his mind after that.
It was barely 7am and my flight was at 9.20. Plenty of time, he said, and it was Sunday morning so no traffic.

Usually it takes the shuttle anywhere from 30mns to an hour to make it to the island from Tampa. We did it in seventeen minutes.
As soon as we parked at the motel I jumped out of the car and went to look if the bag was still where I left it.

It was !!!!! I grabbed it and went back to the car. The driver was waiting for me and laughed his butt off when he saw me.

"HOW ON EARTH could you forget that thing???"

Hmmm. What could he mean ? So maybe my "bag" is a 32" duffle in a eggplantish purple color, packed to the hilt. With a big yellow DME tag and Stitch stickers on it.

I let out a big sigh of relief as I got in the car for the third time. We made it back to the airport in a record-breaking 14mns, I gave him all the money I had on me (he deserved it!) and went to check in at the Southwest counter, which at 7.40am was deserted.

"Wait... you're going to Fort Lauderdale and then to Orlando??"
"Yes, there's no direct flight to Orlando from Tampa."
"You do know that it's like an hour drive?"
"Yes... but I believe the State of Florida objects to me driving without a license even for an hour. Plus I still don't know what those pedals are for."

It was barely 8am when I got inside the airport. The first thing I did was pull out my cell phone to call Grumpy and tell her about the Bag Incident which of course she found funny.

Then I went to go through security. My hand was still wrapped in tissue - VERY fancy looking - but with the bag trauma I had totally forgotten about it. The tissue was bloody and looked really gross. As soon as I was done with security I went to the shop and got a kit with band-aids and Neosporin, and found some restrooms to clean it up.

And after that I was finally able to just sit at my gate and take a huge BREATHER.

The flight to Ft Lauderdale was great. The new Southwest boarding procedure was pretty cool. Even though I had the A-41 boarding pass there were only 20 or so persons in front of me.

I fell asleep pretty much as soon as we were in the air and only woke up when the flight attendant roused me and told me to turn my MP3 off. For a sec I thought I'd been singing aloud (NOT the first time it happened!!!). No, we were getting ready to land.

Flight #1, done. One flight and one bus to go. My plan today was to go see Epcot's Tree Lightning Ceremony at 6PM. And either stay for Illuminations or do a ride, depending on what I felt like.
Considering my first flight had been at 9.20am, the plan seemed perfectly doable, with time to spare. Right ?

I checked the board to see which gate my 2nd flight was at. Very close. Great ! Unfortunately under "status" it said : DELAYED.

Damn. I'd heard on the news that there were storms in some part of the country, but not in Florida. I was IN Florida and going TO Florida.

It never occured to me that the plane may be coming from another state.

Ours was coming from Providence, and they expected a two-hour delay. Two hour soon became three. Then four. You get the idea. The 11.35am flight to Orlando finally departed at 3.55pm. It takes roughly an hour to fly to Orlando, and then DME is usually about an hour too. And I still had to check in, put my stuff in my room, and get on a bus to Epcot.

I wouldn't make it to the Tree Lightning Ceremony. :sad1:

OK, no big deal. I'll be in Disney for 10 days. Surely I can squeeze that in another night. One thing's for sure, I was glad I had added another day to my Solo trip.

When I got to the Welcome Center in MCO, I explained to a CM (are they CMs over there??) that I had three bags and two DME tags. Therefore one bag was tag-less. I gave him the sticker receipt thingy from Southwest and he said no problem, it will come tonight with the rest of your stuff. I thanked him, got on my bus and soon was enjoying the DME video for the fourth time in a year.

I'm in Disney ! Nothing bad can happen anymore. Right ?

Around 6pm we arrived at All-Stars Music. Check in was fast, however I had requested Jazz Inn and got Country Fair. I expected it, because it was late and didn't fight it - by that point I just wanted a bed.

I did force myself to take photos of my room before it became a huge mess.

The rooms are MUCH, MUCH better at ASMU than at ASMO or even POP. The beds were really comfortable (granted, that first night, I suspect that a bucket would have felt comfortable). The furniture is nice too.

I decided I woud just "rest my eyes" for an hour or so and then maybe go to Downtown Disney. Just in case, I prepared the tip for the luggage guy and laid down on the bed , still fully dressed.

Luggage Services knocked on the door and woke me up.... three hours later.

And gave me TWO bags. The missing one was the tag-less duffle that mainly contained stuff for my sister. He assured me that it would come soon and I was more than willing to believe him, because that meant I could go back to bed. My head was pounding.

At 2am I was up again, and craving something cold and bubbley. I had given the luggage guy the rest of my cash, but I knew I had a baggie of dimes and nickels in my carry-on. It had about two dollars in it. Surely, it would be enough for a soda ?

The soda machine was on my floor and I was salivating in advance. Unfortunately, it cost $2.50.

That did it. Finally. I think I had been holding it in ever since the night before when I had walked in the rain to the store for 20mns only to find it closed. Cutting my hand, the storm, forgetting the bag, the flight being delayed, spending 5 hours in that airport and missing the tree lightning ceremony, my first day ruined when I had spent so much time planning it perfectly, and now another missing bag...

Maybe it was low blood sugar or something, but that inaccessible soda was the last straw and I broke down right there between the ice and vending machines.

Wow, wait a sec ? What the heck do you think you're doing ? You're in DISNEY WORLD. Pull yourself together, girl ! You'll find your bag and even if you don't, there was nothing in there that couldn't be replaced. You'll go to Epcot another night and it's JUST a cute show with characters.

There will be NO SOBBING in Disney World !

I walked back to my room, got my credit card, walked to the food court, withdrew some money at the ATM and asked a CM at the front desk for some change. Then I went back to my building and finally was able to purchase a bottle of Fanta. It was ice cold and bubbley and sugary. Heaven in a very overpriced bottle.

And I finally got my first good surprise : Animal Kingdom had early EMH today !! I hadn't known about it and since I was already awake, I could easily make it to rope drop.

It wasn't exactly Disney Magic yet, but for now it would have to do. :flower3:

Glad you got there in one piece-when you ever said your flight was coming from Providence I though-oy, you'd be there for ever.

:sad1: I'm only going to miss you by 1 week !! Where are you staying ? Maybe I can leave some goodies for you guys :dance3:
:

We are staying off property. Never done that before, but it's a two bedroom and free since a timeshare from my parents. This is my frist time going in the Spring.

Oh! The rain, the hand, the bag, the delay, the money! I hope the next day was better!

At 6AM sharp, I was ready to leave. I hadn't had a thing to eat since dinner at my friend's house over a day ago and I was mighty hungry!! Last year the food court at ASMO opened at 6am so I figured this one would be the same.

I was in Florida, so it didn't even cross my mind to wear something besides my usual jeans & T-shirt.

:scared1: It was FREEZING outside !!! Couldn't have been more than 35°.
I immediately got back in the room, grabbed my hoodie, the only warm thing I'd brought.

When I got to the food court, I was a little disappointed to see that the hot station was not open yet, and would not open until 7am. No biggie, got myself a bagel and juice.

For once I would be able to do what the UG advises : show up at a park 40mns before opening. At the AK bus stop outside Music, there were only 4 other persons waiting. They all had knit hats, pulled over their ears, and gloves. I thought it was a little silly, it's Florida people let the sun come up and you'll trade the gloves for a fan.

Sure, Miss-Know-It-All.

We got to AK - all five of us - and found the entrance area empty.

The tree was gorgeous and I got to take a pic of it with no stranger in my shot. Yay !!

IMG_3332.jpg

At the bottom of the tree there are "gifts" with Winnie the Pooh characters.. Cute!!

IMG_3333.jpg

IMG_3334.jpg

After I took these pics, I noticed the CM at the shop outside the entrance was putting racks of gloves, hats and scarves outside. I could barely feel my fingers so I spent the $15 on a pair of Mickey gloves... lemme tell you, if they'd been $35 I would have bought them anyway.

I think it turned out that this was a record low for the season in years. Either way, not the best time to try the whole "be there 40mns before opening" thing :rotfl:

I snapped some pics while I waited

IMG_3336.jpg

IMG_3339.jpg

About 20mns before 8, they let us in and we all walked towards the Tree of Life to see the opening ceremony. This was the first time I'd seen an opening ceremony at WDW and it was VERY cute !!! It put a big smile on my face :)

IMG_3349.jpg

After the opening ceremony I think they divided us in 2 groups, one going towards Everest and one towards the Safari. According to my pics, I was on a Safari truck at 8.02am !!!! The animals were around but I didn't take many pics because the lady sitting next to me had a camera with a huge lens that she kept shoving in my face. Oh well, I got a zillion pics of the Safari plus she looked like she knew what she was doing... her pics would probably turn out 10x better than mine!!

IMG_3354.jpg

IMG_3356.jpg

IMG_3358.jpg

After the safari ended, I took my time looking around AK, taking a pic here and there, got myself a hot coffee and waited for the CMs to open the Maharajah Jungle Trek. I wanted to see me some tigers!!!

IMG_3363.jpg

As soon as they opened, I went straight to the tiger exhibit.

IMG_3367.jpg

Apparently, this kitty was just waking up ... I think I spent about 45mns looking at him and snapping pics.

At one point he started rolling around and it was SOOOO cute. Another lady and I went aaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwww at the same time and it seemed to really shock those two guys who were there too. I guess they didn't see anything cutesy. :confused3 MEN!

Cute, or not cute ??

After I finally left the tigers, I finished off the Trek. All the birds were sound asleep and I suspect trying that whole hibernating thing.

This is the last animal I saw on the trek (a fawn, I think??).

That tree is amazing, right? It was still up when we were there in early January.

The tiger is super cute! You got great pictures of him!

I then slowly walked towards Dinoland, on my way to the Nemo musical. I had no itinerary, no list of specific attractions to do. I could do whatever I wanted, at my pace, whatever sounded good. At the moment, what sounded good was to go slow and take the time to look at all the details in the park.

----------------

I had just missed Nemo, so I walked around Dinoland, waiting for the next show.

Some people think this area is so tacky, but I kinda like it ! It reminds me of the fairs I used to go to as a kid. As you can see, there was no one on Triceratop Spins, but I didn't feel like riding it today. Instead I just took more pics.

Then I decided to try a new ride : DINOSAUR!
I've read a lot about this ride on the DIS and so many posters say that it's the roughest ride in WDW. But I wanted to try something new, something more adult-ish than Triceratop Spins :goodvibes
Plus this is one attraction that I knew for sure Grumpy will never want do.

So I did it !! I went in and rode Dinosaur. There was no line at all, I walked right in which I think is a good thing for me and thrill rides : not enough time to chicken out. It worked for Everest and Test Track !
I freaked out a bit when I couldn't fasten my seatbelt. There was more than enough belt but I couldn't get it to click. Just as they were moving the cars, I stood up and apparently gave the CM half a heart attack.
"MISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!! Sit DOWN miss!!! And stay seated!!! They will check the seatbelts before you go in."

Yeah, that'd be good. I managed to get buckled up and we went in.

Here's the thing. I absolutely can not tell you anything about this attraction. I knew there were dinosaurs - the title kind of gave it away - and I heard them. But I can't tell you what they look like or what they were doing. Because I had my eyes shut tight for the entire ride. One hand over each ear. It soon became difficult to, at the same time, cover my ears and hold on to the security bar for dear life.

I chose to go deaf.

Really, the ride isn't that bad. Kinda feels like being put in a blender with a few very loud and scary friends.

But I did it ! And I survived :) Next on my agenda is Space Mountain.
Next year.

Well, it was only 10.40am but I was hungry. The closest CS is Restaurantosaurus, which really is a McDonalds'. I'm not too crazy about burgers but it would be hot and that sure sounded nice. There were actually quite a few people in there having "lunch" at 10.40, probably because it was so cold outside.
I loaded my burger with fixins' (sauerkraut, pickles, mushrooms) and took my time to eat and drink. Too much time actually.

By the time I remembered, it was just 10mns before the next Nemo show. The theater was packed, it was standing room only and I decided to go back to ASMU for a nap.

After all, I'd been up since 2am, and MK had EMH that night I wanted to attend. A nap was in order.

I was the only one on the bus back to Music. That was really weird. I chatted with the driver and he told me the crowds were very low at every park because of the weather. That was good for me, I hoped it'd stay the same for MK's magic hours.

On my way back to my room I took a bunch of pics so I could show Grumpy what ASMU looked like.

This poor lifeguard.. she must have been freezing. There were 2 or 3 kids in the pool - in shorts and T-shirts!
