The Don't Waste Your Money on ______ Thread

Any vacation to Pigeon Forge.

Oh come on what is wrong with Pigeon Forge. DH and I went there on our anniversary 15 years ago and when I tell people that is where we went everyone laughs at us. I have loved Dolly Parton my whole life and even I thought Dolly wood was TACKY :rotfl:

Don't waste your money on the peticure dog nail filer. It's loud and scares the dog.

Thanks for this tip! I have 2 big dogs, and they are both big babies. They hate getting their nails done, and I was tempted by the peticure. But if it makes loud noises, there would be no way I could use it on them. They would both freak!

Or the CVS Green Toilet Paper...OMG I just took back two double rolls of twelve. Absolutely horrible. It's so thin you have to use a big wad of it...no savings if you have to use more.

The pineapple corer that can be found in the utensil section at Target. It looks like a good idea in theory, but it's terrible to use! there is NO WAY you can cut straight down - it slips all over the place, and makes a terrible cut that is completely in the wrong places. complete waste of $7.99 - I returned it!

DON'T waste your money on the Disney Princess Nursery exclusively at Toys R' Us! It costs almost a hundred dollars but is SO cheaply made. Several of the sound buttons didn't work, and it falls apart if you touch it. (Not exaggerating!) I read all of the bad reviews but ended up buying it anyway. It's horrible! :(

Well like everyone says to each his own. I bought a Petipaws(guess it's the same thing as peticure) at Bed, bath and beyond. My Rottie hates to have her feet touched, one kid fed her peanut butter on a spoon while we did the first foot then she just let us do the other front paw. And no one lost a body part! :cool1: Her nails look so nice! I figured if it didn't work I would just take it back to the store. I won't buy stuff off the tv to hard to return.

Huggies kids foaming hand soap that flashes until they are supposed to quit scrubbing their hands. Clean Team, I think. I bought 2, one of the heads broke off the first time they used it, neither one flashed because they couldn't press them down hard enough and they leaked all over the counter. Threw them out after 2 days.

Oh my goodness! I was just going to write the same thing, except, I have Shar Pei who loath getting their nails done. Last time I took them to the vet, I warned them to muzzle them and be prepared.

The Pedipaws works great. It's got a noise, but not as loud as a dremel. I also followed the directions and got them used to it before we tried the dirty deed. And did the peanut butter trick too. If you get the peanut butter on their nose, you get a few extra seconds too.

It's a plastic ball that opens and you put your bra in it so you can wash it in the washing machine. I've seen the same product other places for $20 and was intrigued so when I saw this one at Target for $7.99, I gave it a try. It's a pain to get the bra in and get thing closed. Mine (36D) barely fit. Then I had trouble getting it in the washing machine - there wasn't really room between the agitator and the side of the machine. I guess I'll just stick to handwashing!

That looked interesting so thanks for the warning!

Hmmm. I guess buying it someplace like Bed Bath and Beyond would be best in case it doesn't work for our animals. I have one that is terrified of nail trimmings and I thought he might go for that one.

I need to 2nd or 3rd the warning about the TGIFridays skillet meals. I bought the Firecracker Chicken one because it was on sale with a coupon. DH made it one night when I worked late and I got home and there was nothing left. He ate the entire thing for dinner - I told him it was supposed to be 2.5 or so servings and he laughed. Said we'd both be starving if we shared it. he also said the chicken was rubbery. Won't be buying it again!

Seventh Generation is an eco-friendly brand. They've been around for years and they make very good products. And since they are true "green" products, they are a bit more pricey. They used to be hard to find but nowadays I can find Seventh Generation at Kroger (albeit in the healthy section).

I do  their products!

I don't think any of the ready-made meals are worth the money. Gross ! I cook from scratch, and it really isn't that big a deal if you plan...and if I'm tired we have scrambled eggs or pasta w/ fresh grated cheese. It drives me crazy, all this nasty prepared stuff at the grocery store that tastes bad, and makes people eat more.

Since Christmas is coming up...

From Target, the Our generation doll tea party table and chairs. It's $33 and awful. The legs won't support the table. Dh has tried to jer-rig and finally gave up. Should have taken it back immediately.

Thanks for this! I was going to buy it for DD's birthday, but I think I'll just have to dump the money for an AG table.

We bought an Our Generation day bed that santa delivered. We had to return it because someone (not us) dropped it and smashed in the back poles of the bed frame. The way it was packaged you couldn't tell.

I have found a couple that are good - like the orange chicken at Costco. Takes just like the orange chicken at the chinese restaurant (which I have yet to be able to master on my own!). We typically eat as "from scratch" as possible, esp right now when the wallet is thin, but there are times when one of us is home alone and throwing a frozen skillet meal on the stove just makes sense. But we're just a family of 2 right now and I'm sure that makes a difference.

The Taco Bell Bowls at the grocery store... yuck!

UGGHHHH!!! I bought two of these in the clearance section of my Target because the picture looked so good, I almost threw up after eating it, I threw the other one in the trash. I couldn't imagine paying full price for them.

I haven't tried those, but I wouldn't buy the Clean Team shampoo. I tried it and had a really hard time holding onto the odd-shaped bottle and squeezing it to get the shampoo out. I complained to Huggies and they sent me coupons for more :confused3 .
