I love Shortbread. I can't resist the stuff. Thank goodness I don't get it very often. My friend sent me some from England and I was so excited! I opened one of the packages and broke off a little piece. Yum! I had a little more, and a little more, but I was not going to eat the whole package at one time. :teeth:
I was sitting on the floor, playing my x-box (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) battling fierce squirrels and trying to get Oompa Loompas to do what I want them to do. (yes, I'm a grown woman) My cookies were beside me on the floor (in the wrapper). Oreo (my dog) was sleeping in her little bed, totally oblivious to the fact that I was eating a cookie (or so I thought). All of a sudden, the phone rang, so I paused the game and answered the phone. It was my mom and she was having trouble with her computer, so I slipped on my shoes and went to her aid since I live right next door. I forgot all about the cookies. About 10 minutes later, I came home to find Oreo sleeping by the heater. I went back to my X-box and noticed that the shortbread wrapper was sitting there empty. I looked around and found the remains of her feast. The dog ate my shortbread. Instead of punishing her, I wrapped up the few pieces that were left and figure I'll give them to her tonight. :teeth:

Awwww. I miss dogs, all we have is cats at the moment.

I'm so sorry! I can totally understand, though. My sister makes about 6 batches of the stuff at Christmas, and no one can take their hands off it. We were together last weekend, and she made a couple of batches. While we weren't looking, my twins took off with about 8 cookies each! It's good stuff!

Love shortbread too. My grandparents used to send me some tins of Walkers when I was in college.

You left it on the floor. He thought it was for him! Is he a French bulldog?

One of my pugs once got into my DD's backpack and ate an entire sleave of Girl Scout cookies - the peanut butter sandwich kind. She was sick for days. Pugs will literally eat until they're sick.

:rotfl2:

That's kinda funny!! You can't really blame him, since you left it on the floor! ;) Basically, the way my dogs see it, if it's within their reach (and even if it isn't sometimes) it's fair game! :teeth:

My little Sally decided it was time to open the Christmas gifts today...so she opened our gift from my brother and SIL...and was getting ready to open the card from my parents! :rotfl:

Life sure would be boring without these little furbabies, huh?

BTW...love the french bulldogs!!! Too cute!!!

Yes, I know it is totally my fault. I actually thought it was pretty funny and I learned my lesson. Even when I think she is out of it, she is keenly aware of a cookie nearby. My dogs are actually Boston Terriers. Oreo is the one to the left in the picture in my sig and Coral is on the right. Coral looks like a Frenchie but she is pureblood Boston. We actually negotiated a better price because of her looks! :rotfl:

This is why I have cats!!! They only eat the loaf bread when it is left out, but atleast they leave the shortbread alone!

Good for the cute doggie....she needed a little Christmas treat! :teeth:

I had a 4 pound Toy Poodle tear into a 9 pound roast a few years ago. It was fully cooked (by MIL) and wrapped in aluminum foil. We were driving home from her house and stopped for dinner. While we were inside eating the dog tore off the foil and nibbled the entire outside of the roast, ruining it totally. We threw it in the trash and drove on.
