Hey guys Im feeling a little skunky at the moment. I took a shower and as I was doing my hair in the mirror afterwards I got kinda down. I keep looking at this scar on my face where they did the surgery. I keep wondering if the lump that was there was worse than the scar I have now. Dh keeps trying to tell me it looks better every day and hes not one to lie at all but I just cant see it. I keep wondering if I did the right thing with the surgery and hoping that I dont have to look at this nasty thing for the rest of my life. Its still kinda red and really noticible....well at least to me it is.

Well...... Kim has been doing some major kissing up to me that I almost hate to admit it BUT........ last winter, during the Olympics, when she was posting her "fixation" with Mr. Ono, I also came out and admitted that I thought the little dude was quite handsome as well. I stayed up wayyy past my bedtime on several nights just to see him and Kip skate.

Awww, sweetie, I'm sure your DH wasn't lying to you. Those things take awhile to heal. Did you ask your doctor/surgeon how long it would be before the redness, etc. disppeared?

He said it would take time for the redness to go away but was very noncommital about how it would heal. He kept saying ten percent of how it looks when it heals is him and 90 percent is me and how I heal. I know I can cover this with makeup but Im just not the makeup wearer. I wear eyeliner, blush and lipstick but even thats a pain to find the time to do every morning.

Karen, scars from surgery take time. I am sure that everything will be OK. I know you probably think it is like being in high school and getting ready for major date and that zit on the tip of your nose just appeared. I realize that this zit may take a little longer but really my friend it will be fine. Just love that adorable DH of yours, he wouln't lie to you. {{HUGS}} I do remember blow drying my hair and noticing in the mirror that I had lost quarter size patches of hair. I just sat down and cried. It did grown back after a few months. But that was the longest 3 moths of my life. I had to change hairstyles and parts because I didn't want people to see the multiple bald spots. This has happened to me 3 times and each time it catches me off guard. It takes time my dear. Prayers are with you.

Awww... hang in there Karen. As Pam suggested, a call to your dr. may gave you a little insight as to how long the redness, etc... will remain. Maybe a couple of our Ya Ya nurses would have some advice about what can be done to minimize the scarring?

LOL... yeah, probably a bit tacky huh? I'd never want to put someone on the spot like that. I am dying to know how your DH got his number though!

Thanks everyone. Sorry to bring everyone down I just got a little weepy and upset looking at it. I keep praying that it will be all healed and hardly noticible by DisCon. Right now I feel a bit like Bride of Frankenstein.

Betty I have NO idea what you did with the urinals. I didnt answer because I was trying to think of what you could have done with them. I give. I cant think of a thing LOL.

Karen don't worry about that little mark on your face. I am sure it won't be noticable at all to us and that you might notice it more because you know it is there (I hope that makes sense), plus that isn't something we'd care about anyway. I have scars on me and marks on me that I wish would go away but in the scheme of thigns they aren't all that important.

I'm SO glad to know I'm not the only one that hates being the last poster on a page!!! I pouted (yeah, me...go figure!) to Jennifer yesterday when things were moving like lightning here. I had posted something.... it went up about midway on one page, and by the time I refreshed the page SECONDS later, ya'll were already about half way down yet another page!! Things were being posted so fast and furious, I think posts were getting buried before half the people around here even saw them. I've gotten in the habit now of always going back to my last post and taking notes from that point on. Of course, as Betty said, by the time I get that done, another 4-6 pages has been added! LOL! I wouldn't have it any other way though... you ladies (and Jay, are you still with us Jay? ) are wonderful!

Oh Pam has her head in the toilets, ummmm I mean urinals with us. We made goal posts from PVC pipe and painted them that football yellow. We placed them in front of the urinals. And if the boys has good aim, then they went right through the middle of the posts. SCORE! Of course I wanted to post a sign that read something like "This better be the only time you score tonight" Then we decided that however true that may be, it just wasn't appropriate.

This year we are using the theme of songs. We are going to do "Pin Ball Wizard" complete with a pin ball machine in the bathroom. The other parent that I work with is a teacher at the other high school in our school district and our son's run cross country together. Do you think we have too much time on our hands?

Speaking of picture, sometime late late last night or early this morning depending on where you live, I requested Kurt Russell and Jan Michael Vincent (pre drug days). Can anyone make an old ladies wish come true?

Well Nancy there seems to be a good portion of us who will be down there during that time but will be non-Coners. I will be one of them. We have a meet in the works tentatively at AK but definitely on the 7th (for lunch at least). So come join us for that if you can! I will be there the 1-8th and would love to meet with you.

Betty, it's a little scary that we think so much alike, isn't it??!! I'm ROTFL over the only time you'd better Score tonight remark! And as a Mom of a 17 yr. old DD, I totally understand where that one's coming from!!

Our HS has the Prom at different locations. This year's was at a banquet hall in Ohio, over 1 to 1.5 hours away. From what my DD tells me, there isn't tons of decorating done. The Prom ended at 11:00 pm and the kids were bussed back to the school. They then had to be back at the school at 8:00 am as the after prom was at Six Flags back in Ohio. That was the first time they ever did that and they aren't doing that this year. Before the kids leave for Prom, we have a Grand March at the HS in the auditorium and parents, grandparents, friends, etc. get to see everyone dressed to the nines. The stage is elaborately decorated for that, this year's had a fountain.

I just read Karen's post. It is the same old same old with Beetlejuice. I just now go one to the next post. This was one that was so full of his bullsh*t that I just didn't care what he had to say. Bfeller is tired of him. It is time to move on. I often wonder why people keep arguing with him. Just let the thread die. If he wants to make a point then let him do it on his own. Pam our Afterprom is at the high school. It is to promote a drug free environment. We decorate the gym, cafeteria, many classrooms, hallways, weight rooms, auditorium and of course the bathroom. It goes from 12-5 in the morning. Last year was Hollywood Nights and the entrance outside had a spotlight and red carpet. This entrance also coordinated with the Prom entrance at Paul Brown Stadium (that is the new stadium that was built for the Bengals to stand around and watch the other team play football)

A mom was outside interviewing the kids as they came into prom. She was suppose to be like Joan Rivers. You know comments about who you are wearing etc.......Then in one of the rooms they were showing the tape. We had movies, games, casino, obstacle courses, and food for all the kids. The cost was $8 and you didn't have to go to prom to go to afterprom. You just had to be a junior or senior. It is a hoot. There is also a preview party for the middle and elementary schools before midnight. This way the kids can see what they have to look forward to.
