As far as meeting anyone, I haven't met anyone I think WDW is a great idea (especially since I live here!)

Jennifer, I didn't mean to hit and run with the alcohol thing. We are members of a Baptist church and I was raised Catholic, so I am trying to reconcile the fact that I have been drinking wine since I was 5 (with Gingerale) with the no-drinking philosphy of Baptist. Kinda tough.

Did you all notice that Sherry went to bed twice last night?

Sherry, I wish I could come get you for this weekend, but I am heading out towards Indy to get to Chicago... I do not relish the idea of going up 23 & then 80 over to Chicago... takes about an hour longer and I only save like 5-10 miles. But remember Glo & Towncrier will be in your neighborhood

Bonnie, are you working tomorrow night say about 7 or 8 pm? A bunch of us (like 15-20 of us) will be at Gino's tomorrow night for pizza. DISers I have met on this thread... Betty, Bonnie, & Sherry at the Columbus Zoo meet. I have spoken with Kimmie a few times on the phone and sent snail mail to Jodie. Jennifer decided she didn't want to meet me when I drove up to Battle Creek MI, so I haven't met her (just yet). I haven't been to VA in a while, but when I do it is always in DC area Jodie But as some of you guessed, I am willing to travel to meet a few DISers (even down to FL )

Hello everyone. School is done for the day. It was great. There was a student teacher and all I had to do was sit in the back of the room and watch. I did some reading on my break. Got around 50 more pages before I finish Divine Secrets of the YaYa Sisterhood. I started reading it before this thread's name was changed. What a coincidence.

Wonder if Kim has come out of the closet yet. (Oops, did I make a comment that could be misunderstood? Ha! Ha!)

Oh Bonnie, you are such a sweetheart saying such nice things about meeting me, but you really need to get out more often. Living in that small town has really clouded your judgment. Ha! I will have to watch 8 Simple Rules. I am sure that I could relate. I think we have DD around the same age.

Jennifer, you mentioned that DH was feeling ill also. Is he still sick? If he really is, I feel sorry for you. But if he is doing what my DH does, then kick him out of bed. DH BASHING TIME - Whenever someone gets sick in our family, Steve always thinks that he feels it coming on and goes upstairs to bed and shuts the door. Just wish that I could do that. Wait a minute, I did do it twice. Both times when I had come home from hospital after having surgery. Men are BIG BABIES. (Sorry about that Yensid) How is Emily feeling this afternoon?

As far as wine drinking goes here is my story. I was raised Southern Baptist but didn't agree with all the beliefs. I married a man who is Catholic but I was baptized in 92 as a Disciple of Christ. I drink wine and so did Jesus. That is all I need to know. Although I do think drinking over legal limits are not a good idea. However, I will allow my children to have a glass of wine with a meal. They have both tried wine but neither has ever finished their glass. They still like the non alcoholic juice for special occasions(Thanksgiving, New Years, and birthday dinners) Normally, I would say go ahead and flame me but know that we are all friends here and we are allowed to express our opinions without getting hostile.

Hey, I got my DIS CON buddy. Mskanga is going to represent me. Anyone know much about her. She posted she loved Haunted Mansion, Rock N Rollercoaster, and TOT. Sounds like my kind of girl. Are any of you going to be represented? I know I mentioned Elaine as my first choice but Mskanga popped up and I decided to get her just in case Elaine was going to reject me. i hate rejection.

Well, got to run. The kids should be home after school today because their sports are over. No more practice!!!!!!!!

Hi everybody! Quiet day on our thread today isn't it? *Sigh* Looks like real life strikes again.

Well, as far as the drinking/church issue. I really don't have a strong stance on that one. I'm a Christian, baptized in the Baptist church... I don't attend or belong to a specific church, but love The Lord dearly. My personal opinion concerning drinking, is that as long as it is not abused or done in excess, I don't have a problem with it. However...the potential for abuse is a scary thing, and something that makes me very wary of it. Tom and I have an agreement. If either of us do decide to have a drink, it's always done at home and usually only consists of one drink at any given time. Besides...can't stand the way it makes me feel the next day. Not to mention, there's something very very bad in alcohol.... CALORIES!!!

Whew! That was an awfully heavy issue for me! I think my headache is back.

Sherry! Oh goodie! Thank you, thank you! Even though you're no longer "insane" you'll still stand by us!? Whew! Thank goodness! Ok, that's me, Sherry, lilboo and Michele now... is Jennifer still wavering? Well, even though you've come to your senses, Sherry, thanks so much for coming to the defense of your friends that are still a little...ummm... "off".

Being the only male here, I sorta expect this. Let's clarify, though, shall we? Let's change this from "men are big babies" to "SOME men are big babies." Jay, after your "list of pains post" you are definatly OUT of the baby catagory!!!!! My dh is not sick (yet). Not sure why things are being read into my posts that I don't mean to say. Guess I'm going insane and not proofing enough.

The only one sick in our house is Emily (but the rest of us are still suffering )

Quite day here on the ranch. Watched Beauty and the Beast, had a small break down pm to Betty (sorry Betty) and got a little of this and that done between Emily's naps.

I have a service Unit meeting tonight so I'll be out until late. I'll check in for the next couple of hours and then late tonight.

Well, y'all were quieter today. Made it a little easier to play catch up. I am feeling better today, thank you. Might even lay off the Nyquil tonight.

Jay, my dh says that there is nothing worse than being married to a nurse if you want sympathy. When we deal with death and dying all day, it's hard to give any sympathy for a head cold or a sprained ankle to a dh who acts like it will kill him to get off the couch! But I know this would never apply to you. You would never whine at your dw to get you a glass of water when you are sitting 10 feet from the faucet, now would you?

Thank you lilboo for watching my back against that notorious Dream character. Really! Thank a tag fairy for changing someone's tag, and the woman threatens me with duct tape!

Elaine, I just don't see what the problem is. If you took 23 to 80, you could just stop at the exit and pick me up. Then you would have Sherry and I to share the driving. Simple!

Kimmie, I don't know what the big deal is about phenergan, other than it makes you really sleepy.

Jennifer, DH is working late, so I fixed dinner (remember the chicken pot pie? - Wilma, the cook, sent home 1/2 of a food service tray) early. Kids like to watch Zaboomafoo (PBS kids) at 7:30 sooooo........if they want to watch it they get ready early. Plus then they are done in time for my show!!

However, this schedule changes when DH is home!

Hey, I watched Beauty & the Beast today too.

Thanks for asking Jennifer. DW is doing ok. She has good times & bad times, but is fighting thru it. Still kind of wiped out, but hopefully the meds will do the trick in the next day or so. One day soon she'll finally be over it.

Funny thing... even after my surgery last year, I felt weird having DW & MIL waiting on me. I couldn't do much myself (had to re-learn how to walk, really). I felt sooooo bad having them bring me food & drinks. I was always taught to take care of myself, so I get my own drinks & stuff. To this day, I still get my own drinks & all.

LOL! Glad to hear I'm exempt from the babies thing....
