The Disneyland Hotel Superthread

Hi y’all- I just booked our first stay at the DH. We have stayed at the GCH many times but never at DH. I booked a standard room and now I’m thinking I should have done premium or deluxe.

Anyway, my question is: do any of you have specific standard room numbers that you would recommend? Pictures would be fantastic as well. Thanks in advance.

I often book a standard room. My usual go-to is to request the Adventure Tower or Fantasy. Now, with the new DTD entry point, I think this may make Frontier a little better, location-wise, than before. However, one whole side of it still looks out on a parking lot and uninspired city views. In Fantasy, one side looks out on part of a parking lot, true, but also has park views and some great fireworks views. The other side has mostly pool/resort view rooms. A lot of them are considered standard view.

I have no experience with the new DVC rooms but the tower looks really nice.

If a sale comes along, that would be a good time to consider upgrading. My favorite is a room on one of the upper floors of Adventure, DTD view. Since I've been many times and I am not usually with kids these days I care more about where I am in the resort than what view I have. I prefer being close to DTD.

Thank you for the info! I’ve been looking at videos on YouTube and it seems like the fantasy tower rooms have little extra counter just outside the bathroom that has the coffee bar stuff and a mirror. It seems like the Adventure tower rooms do not. Can you confirm this is true? I like the idea of having an extra vanity set up outside the bathroom to do my makeup while other are in the bathroom.

I looked and can’t find the answer to this - is there a locker room with showers at the gym in the hotel? I’ll have 5 in a room and would love to have an additional shower option.

I'm sorry but I don't really know. I CAN confirm that DLH has many room variations, especially in the Fantasy tower. I'm with you, though--that extra vanity outside the bathroom would be golden. It's one of the things I like about GCH--I love the vanity outside of the toilet/shower room.

But I can't remember having that extra vanity at DLH unless it was a suite.

Thanks! Can you tell me if all the rooms start on the second floor or do the towers have first floor rooms? We like the first floor.

We stayed in Room 2025 in the Fantasyland Tower last week which is a standard room. The direct view is over the roof of the main entrance, facing the parking lot but there are some palm trees and the flags that made it a bit more attractive and you can’t really see the lot since you’re so low - mainly roof.

The location was perfect for us as it was a very quick ride up from the lobby/shops and right by the pool entrance and coffee shop. Despite that, it was quiet at night. The real bonus was that we could see the DL fireworks in full sitting on the sofa in our room.

I don’t know that folks have much luck in getting a specific room # request but I was very happy with the general location.

Thank you! That’s exactly the information I was looking for. Was this room on the first or technically the second floor?

Can anyone tell me about the laundry facilities? DLR is the second leg of a 3-leg trip for us and we will need to do some laundry before we leave.

I have a large family and the suites were not avail so I got 2 rooms and requested connecting. It shows that way in my reservation in the app but should I call the hotel directly a day or two before check in and also request it with them? It would be way nicer to have a connecting door so everyone has 2 bathroom access

My TA says the Adventure Tower doesn’t have any Standard View Rooms, is that accurate?

I doubt that is completely correct, as there are always rooms, as planningjollyholiday mentioned, that have obstructed views etc.

However, even if Disney now claims there are no standard rooms in Adventure (they never used to, as any obstructed views were deemed standard), you can still get a room in Adventure if you've booked standard. I've often gotten a standard room there though sometimes I've booked a higher category if I wanted an upper floor or something.
I thought the lower levels that have obstructed tree views are considered standard. Regardless, I have often gotten the Adventure tower when asked when I have booked a standard view so it's always worth it to put in a request.
My guess is that the TAs may be told this information but Disney itself doesn't adhere to it. I was told by DLH employees that I could book a standard room in Adventure as it would be a room with a blocked view. That was pre-Covid though so they may have changed the policy.

Yes, I'd call ahead of time and ask to have connecting rooms. I'd call a few days ahead of time and the day of your arrival if you have time. Checking in early online would help, too. If you get the hotel and don't have connecting rooms, you can can go to the desk and ask again. They don't guarantee requests but always do their best.
