"The Disneyland Diet"

I just tried on a pair of my old pants that I got just before my first trip to Disneyland (granted that was only 3 years ago and 2 sizes ago); since then I have not given them a glance due to the fact that I knew I wouldn't fit in them...but now they fit! And I am so happy. I have now reached my goal of 2 sizes down! Now my new goal is to keep the sizes down until the last day of my vacation. :cheer2:  :cool1:

woo hoo this is great!!! :yay: :yay: :yay:    your doing awesome!!

I am down 2 more pounds, feeling better each day. Today I added fresh vegetable juice with apple. ( I have a wonderful juice machine) each day it just gets better and better. today I feel great.
I actually got every room of my house done and all the laundry, including kids coats, (they have 3 each) bedding, cloths rugs. I have not felt like cleaning in a long time, well besides keeping up the house each day,;) I even cleaned the basement:scared1: Each day I feel better and better!! :cheer2: my goal. 3 pounds next week!!

I wouldn't mind losing a few before we go too. However I am trying to get in better shape before the trip. Hopefully that will come with losing a few pounds! :)

I have no plans on dieting at DL though, that's for sure. LOL Too many goodies, and usually all the walking just balances things out.

Great to hear everyone's stories. Especially those of you with many pounds to lose. I am going to try to lose about 20 total, 10 by the trip and 10 afterward. Of course it's the same twenty I have sent packing three times now (once before kids, and once after each child!!)...but it keeps sneaking back!

I think a good way to try fun treats while in the park is to maybe just set a limit. Like, "one treat a day" whether it's a Dole Whip or a corn dog or whatever. Just one. Then watch what you eat and how much you eat all the rest of the day. Or, if you are with your family and you have kids or a hubby that you can share with, you can make them a deal that you will have "one" bite of whatever THEY get so you can try it. Remember how much walking you are doing, if you watch what you do but still enjoy you shouldn't gain any weight on the trip.

We went out to a dinner last night and ended up getting the "chef's dinner" where they bring out lots of items and you share them family-style. It was great for me because I literally tasted everything--fattening or no--and probably ate less food than if I got a regular sized dinner and it sat there in front of me compelling me to eat every bite. I put one or two bites of everything onto my plate and tried it all. Even dessert! But because it was just one bite it didn't feel bad to me at all. That's where I think "sharing" the treats comes into play...it's self-regulated as it's not just "yours" to gobble up!!

Keep up the inspiration people!

YAY!! I just talked to my step-MIL, and as a belated birthday present, she is going to pay for me to have a membership to Curves! We sign up tomorrow!! :cool1:

I think it is amazing how much better you feel and look after a week of dieting and exercising; and I can just imagine what you'll feel and looklike after a month or two!

Great Job Everyone!!!! :cheer2:  :dogdance: :goofy: :tigger:

I am sore from my first Curves workout yesterday, I'll be going Mon-Wed-Fri while school is in, and maybe even more once summer arrives! (I am an educational assistant, so I get summers off too) I just ate a healthy lunch, and am about to drink my third 16oz bottle of water today. I am excited to weigh in on Friday and see if the ol' needle on the scale moves in the right direction! :woohoo:

Good job Gram! Those milestones are terrific!!! It feels good to see the lower number...even if it's just one pound to go from one set of 10s to the next!

Hey December, welcome. Try your shorts on now and try them on once a week while you diet. I do that with my swimsuits. It helps, not just to see the numbers on the scale, but how your clothes actually fit ya! You have more than a month, you can do it!! I wanted ten off by my trip and had almost exactly a month to do it. I've lost six and have four to go, our trip is two weeks from tomorrow!!

Thanks for the encouragement! I'm actually eating my diet lunch right now, and it is delicious. I had a packet of Quaker Wt Control oatmeal (maple and brown sugar) made with skim milk, and now I'm eating some frozen fruit. It is delicious! I had Kashi cereal w/ bananas and milk for breakfast.

I do great during the day-it is afterwork that kills me! And if I could get my big behind out of the bed in the morning to work out!

try slowing on the carbs, it causes a craving at night. more protein and less carbs are a good start. lots of veggies in the way of stir frys etc.
you can do some lean pork or chicken in it. I do not eat meat, but stir fry every few days, also have vegan taco's ( taco flavored tvp and vegitarian refried beans ) salsa, so good! thats what we are having tonight.
try a nice soup like split pea ( so easy to make in a crock pot) and or vegtable soups in a crock.
I got my eye on you :rolleyes1 :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

we can do this.. ! heck I got like 79 pounds to go before I hit the first goal, then start on the last 50 !! yeah I got that much to loose... :sad2: I wish it was only 10 pounds, heck I wish it was only 50 !!! :lmao:

Well, I have 40 to go! But it is 10 to get back into the size 12s from last year!
