I have decided to use our trip to Disneyland as a goal to lose 10 pounds!! I started last Tuesday about a month before our departure; our trip is May 3. I don't weigh in until tomorrow but I think I have lost at least 3 this week. (For those interested, I am doing Jenny Craig.)

I am hoping while there, I can splurge a bit and all that walking will even things out from the less-than-healthy choices I'm sure to make. But losing 10 pounds before I get there will make me feel better about how I look, and it will be that much easier to go-go-go!

Anyone else doing a Disneyland Diet? :wizard:

I gotta say I don't think I have ever used the words "Disneyland" and "diet" in the same sentence. :rotfl2:

But it is a very good idea.:thumbsup2

I'm trying to lose a few pounds before our trip as well. I'm hoping to lose 10....20 would be even better.:rotfl: . I've acutally already lost 10 in the past two months.

My main goal for losing a bit is so that hopefully I can fit in one ride seat with my daughters. Otherwise they will probably have to sit in their own seat, something I'm not entirely comfortable with given they will have just turned 6. I don't worry about Dumbo but more the dark rides where they would have to either seat themselves (if I go in the seat before them), or wait alone for me at the end of a ride for a second or two (if they go in the seat before me). My luck the ride would break down while I'm still on it...and the two of them waiting outside it!

My next trip to Disneyland is my Inspiration to lose 15 pounds (I am going towards the end of August). I don't lose weight fast (about 30 pounds over the last 20 months) so 15 pounds in 4 months is a lofty goal. Both times I was at Disneyland I was able to maintain my weightloss but I was always aware of what I ate and made sure I walked as much as possible.

I'm right there with you!! My trip is middle of June and would love to lose 10 lbs. I am working out everyday but Sunday and really watching what I eat. My dr. said I would be lucky to lose 10lbs in a year:confused3 I will just have to proof him wrong:yay:

On my last trip I actually LOST 5 pounds (I lost 15 before we left) So watch what (and how much) you eat, drink lots of water, and it CAN happen!!

I'm watching every bite until we go to Disneyland too. We will be there right after you (arriving May 4th), so our timeline is very similar!

I'm down 6 in the past 2 weeks and want to lose another 15 before we go. I know it's more than is recommended (weight loss of 1-2 per week) but I'm very determined to do it.

A trip to the mall for new clothes (right before we leave) is the reward I'm gong to give to myself. My teenage DD is being very supportive because I told her she could go shopping with me :)

all the good disneyfood
churros and popcorn
i am dieting too. Going tomorrow, might have to cheat lol

Wow, that would certainly be a reward for the reward!! I can only hope! We are go-go-goers so if I have fun and eat what I want but watch my portions maybe this can happen to me too! I plan to wear my pedometer at the parks. Has anyone ever done that and can share how many miles they walked in a day?

Good job everyone!! I know it makes it a lot better for me to have an end date and goal in mind...last time it was when I was a bridesmaid...I was the only bridesmaid that was in her 30s and a mother of two from pasty white Oregon. I was standing next to five gorgeous, tan, thin girls from California!! THAT is motivation!

I was wanting to loose just 10 lbs the last time we went (almost 3 years ago) I lost the weight and have kept it off. I think a gained a couple of lbs on that trip, but it came right back off a week after we got back. Without all of the walking, I'm sure I would have gained more!

Well i'm not going to disneyland for well over a year but i am also planning to lose some weight before i go.... I won't be starting till september though for 2 reasons.... 1. thats exactlly a year before we go and 2. the big one....... I'm pregnant and due in september :goodvibes .... so i am watching what i eat but its kinda hard to diet hard! But i will be on mat leave the year before we go so i'm gonna try to get out and walk or do abit more then i am able to do now as i work evenings  ...... Hopefully when i go back i won't be doing evenings.... if i am i might find new work cause i hate evenings.... it ruins my whole day :) ...... But i'm gonna try really hard to lose a few pounds cause i wanna look alittle more sexy in the family pics, they do last a lifetime + :lmao: :rotfl2:

I am working on it as we speak - I actually have two different motivating factors - I have my 20th HS reunion in August (which I don't really care about, but I would like to fit into a smaller sized dress) and DL next March, which I REALLY want to feel fit and energized for!! I have lost 22lbs since January, so I am hoping I get down another couple of sizes at least....:cool1:

We are not saying the "d" word in my home but keep talking about all the walking we will be doing. Since we will be staying at HOJO and walking I told my kids we need to get used to walking at least that far everyday.:thumbsup2 So, we have started out walking about 3/4th of a mile daily and I hope to work up to much more. The catch is my kids are 7, 5, & 2 :dance3: so I can't push them too much.

I am hoping to inspire DH and me to loose some weight so we can chase the kids around at the end of the day too. Maybe I will just hope for pixie dust!:tink:

:cool1: I am also trying to lose 10 before we go - 3 weeks from today!!! I started out with a goal of 20 but I am getting down to the wire and have to be somewhat realistic, right? It is nice to know there are others in the same boat. Keep us posted on your progress everyone, it's great motivation!!

Well an update for you all. I weighed in today and lost 4 pounds in one week. So, I've got 3 1/2 weeks to lose 6 pounds, which is my minigoal (10 by Disneyland). I would guess I will now lose about 2 pounds a week so I just might get there!

Keep it up people!

PS On a side note, where are some really great "healthy" foods at Disneyland and DCA? And none of you smarties say "try to the Monte Cristo sandwich at BB, it's perfect for your diet!"

I just got back from my 1st Weight Watchers meeting in about six weeks...I'm now down 35 lbs. instead of the 40 lbs. I was down previously :rolleyes1 .

My BFF is coming with us to DL in June and I'm going to challenge her to a vacation weight loss competition. She'll be visiting this weekend and we leave for DL on June 13th, so we'll have two months exactly if we weigh in together this Sunday.

I'm aiming for 15 lbs. in those two months, but would be THRILLED beyond belief if I hit 20. Not only do I have Disneyland to diet for (June 14 - 23), I've also got a Disney World trip right after (June 27 - July 6). To be honest, I'm not that big of a fan of the Disneyland cuisine and was more worried about Disney World, but now that Le Cellier got rid of the Maple BBQ Filet Mignon I may not have to worry quite as much!

If you don't know there is an entire section of the DIS dedicated to losing weight and getting healthy. Check out WISH.

I am doing Weight Watchers. I joined on 1/5/08 and have so far lost 42.4 pounds! I have a lot to lose, but my first mini goal is to lose 50 by my Disneyland trip in June. I think I am going to reach it!

So, I am changing my lifestyle, not for Disneyland, but it is definatley a bonus that I will be lighter and not so tired from all the walking!!!
