The Disney Wilderness Preserve? Has anyone been there, is it worth thetrip at all ? i find it funny that admission here is cheaper then a bottle of water at the WDW parks!

A BIT OF INFO I FOUND ON TI, IF ANYONE IS INTERESTEDAbout 20 miles south of Orlando, at the headwaters of the Everglades ecosystem, is The Nature Conservancy's Disney Wilderness Preserve. Here you can observe native plants and animals by hiking a 3-mile trail or taking an offroad buggy tour.

The Preserve is open year-round from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, but closed on Saturdays and Sundays in the summer (June through September). Admission is $3/adult, $2/youth (ages 6-17). Buggy tours are offered on Sundays at 1:30 pm from October-May for $12/adult, $6/youth (ages 6-17).

This is mentioned in The Unofficial Guide. My husband really wanted to go there on our last trip, but we didn't have time.

I, too, would be interested in hearing from anyone who has been.

I have never heard of this and I am absolutely fascinated.

I too want to hear from someone who has done this.

How buggy do you think the tour will get?

:rotfl2: sorry, I couldn't resist!

Also, thank you Lost*in*Cyberpace for the link to the site. This sounds interesting.

I've always wanted to go there-DH and I are birders and would love this. However, this question is asked occcassionally on these boards, and there's yet to be anyone respond who's been there. So if you go, please be sure to post a report-lots of us are interested! And it seems like no one's been yet.
